12 days post op. Protein and sleep question.
Don't like unjury anymore. Going to try a little cream of wheat this morning. I constantly sip as I remember so I can usually get about 6-8 oz an hour.

12 days post op. Protein and sleep question.
No I haven't. I've done premier protein, isopure, whey, Atkins, and unjury. I use to love premier protein. I just stomach any of them and tired of wasting money.

12 days post op. Protein and sleep question.
I'm 12 days post op doing pretty good but can't stomach protein shakes anymore. I've tried 4 different protein drinks that I liked pre surgery now the thought of them makes me want to gag. So I'm thinking about trying some apple sauce, soft cheese, cream of wheat and/or cottage cheese today. I'm suppose to be liquids for 2 more days but can't get my protein in. I tried Isopure as well. YUCK Any suggestions? Also I slept like a baby week 1 now this past week I can't sleep more than 4 hours at night. It's driving me crazy!

I had surgery June 10th, so I'm only 9 days out still on liquids. The experience was ok, but painful. I think I was allergic to the surgical tape he uses because 2 of my incisions are infected and my belly has been itching like crazy. Other than that, I would be really good by now. I love his staff. Dana has been helping me through this rash, itching, and infection. As of yesterday I'm down 14 pounds since surgery last Monday.- Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs, Mississippi

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 6 days out and was going to return to work on Wednesday. There's no way, I told my boss I'd be another week. I feel very alienated right now and not my usually spunky self. My guess is because of being on just liquids. It's hard to watch other people sit around and eat and be full of energy. I'm exhausted and tired of liquids. I imagine we'll feel better once we are on normal foods. I think everyone goes through this in the beginning. Right??- June surgery dates

Thank you so much. Little by little, each day gets a little easier. :-)- June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"
I had my surgery June 10th. So, I guess I'm 5 days post op. I have not had as easy a go at it as it seems others have had. Got to hospital that morning terrified, cried when my husband said goodbye and they wheeled me back. Waking up in recovery, I remember crying out in pain, then I blacked out again. The biggest incision is the only one that hurts and it HURTS. Surgery was around 7am. My 1st walk was around 4 or 5, I don't even think I woke up till noon. I had a morphine pump I could push a button when needed. I pushed the button about 4 times total while in hospital. I literally could not wake up. I kept passing out, couldn't shake the anesthesia. Monday night my blood pressure was high and I kept a temp of 99.5. I also had a few times where i remember dry heaving. I would have waves of nausea, but none since being released. Doc came in Tuesday morning, saw I had a small blister on one of my small incisions, still red but a teensy bit better. Since being released, the big incision is still painful and I still need some help picking something off the floor or getting up from laying position. I've also developed rashes and itch like crazy!! Going to see my surgeon this afternoon. My last antibiotic before leaving hospital was levaquin. Some people think that may have caused rashes and itching or it could be from morphine or blood thinners. Who knows, but it's driving me crazy. I'm only getting about 30-40 oz of liquid in. Gas SUCKED for several days, gas x strips do help. Today is better from gas though. I haven't felt hunger and have to force myself to drink. Hospital stay, I probably didn't need to pack anything other than a robe. I am ready to fast forward a couple weeks. I had severe buyers remorse, still do a little but I know it's got to get better and this too shall pass.- June surgery dates
