  1. Hi Everyone Just joined this site yesterday. I had my surgery September 25th I'm from Boston had my surgery at NW' date=' Congrats to everyone who has had surgery. It's exciting. I feel like I'm losing slow and slightly discouraged.[/quote']

Aww don't feel discouraged Hun...we have the same Sleeve Date!! (Sept.25th) We must all stay encouraged and be mindful of the FACT that we're no longer eating the same bad foods, with the same poor habits sooooooo The weight is bound to fall right off sooner or later. All of our bodies are different just give yours time!!

  2. Has anyone watched Fat Sick and Nearly a Dead?

No never heard of it.. But if it's one of those educational food documentaries I AM SO IN TO viewing it!! I enjoy learning about those things that we're putting into our bodies!! I just watched one called Knives and Forks and it really opened my eyes to what cholesterol (plaque, of the veins/arteries) is. It also, had some points on how US obesity, heart diseases and heart surgeries have skyrocketed over the years due to the poor food choices!! So sad!!

  3. You go! One I stopped feeling pain it was on! Lol. Ok I found these Protein chips that are 10g's of protein and 130 calls per bag. Health-Wise is the brand. I put my tuna with light mayo on each lil cracker. Yuuuuummmyy! It was less than 2 oz of tun' date=' but the two together were 28 g's of protein and I had no issues at all. I felt normal. Today for lunch I did it with chicken and mayo while my kids ate Sonic right in front of me. I looked at what they were eating and remember.....that's what gave me high cholesterol and all this weight that I'm trying to get off. NO THANK YOU![/quote']

Wow! Really? Where did you purchase these Health-Wise chips? I haven't tried to open a can of tuna yet... So I'm excited!!

  4. I felt exactly the same way.....I made me an egg white with cheddar cheese omelet and chewed the hell out if it. I'm 2 weeks out and eating what I want' date=' but in moderation. It's all healthy high Protein as I can get. Canned chicken smashed to hell with a lil light mayo. I've had it 3 times and feel great! You may need more calories, especially if you're exercising. I couldn't get enough calories in...so I expanded my diet. The key is to chew the hell out of it so you're new tummy doesn't have to do much work. The egg omelet was like an experience. Just to chew something was heaven. Now....that's what I did and it's working for me. Be careful and try things lil by lil. Don't be hard on yourself. You made this decision to live a healthy full life and you deserve just that. I'm heard if you need some more ideas. :-)[/quote']

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I am 2 1/2 wks PostOp and I've suddenly found my Protein Shakes to be disgusting. Not sure why... But they're just distasteful. It's been a lil over 4wks (including PreOp diet) that I've been drinking NOTHING BUT liquids and protein shakes. I needed to give it a break. So I've been sampling different things, chicken, chicken noodle Soup, Beans, rice, omelets, etc. making sure I too, CHEW THE HELL out of it!! Lol so far so good!! Might I add I am still Losing the weight!!!! #SomethingHad2Give #ChoosingWisely

  5. I got a gently used fitbit flex on ebay for 55 including shipping. I plan on setting it up this week (clearly I have no friends) and have been wondering how I will handle that. Will definitely add you all

Good 2 see you 1GorgeousGodzilla..I'm following you on YouTube (I'm "BeautifulBIsHealthyB") I actually learned of fitbit through you on one of your videos!! Thank you for sharing!! I'm thinking of getting one as well.. Will be surfing EBay for gently used ones!! I have hopes of finding a sweet deal as you did!! Thanks again!!

  6. I've heard SO many people say they hit a stall around this time. Don't worry! You're not alone! Seriously' date=' if you follow the rules and can only eat a few ounces at a time, how could you NOT lose weight? This is just your body adjusting to the changes. Be gentle with yourself and stay positive! Yay![/quote']

    Well said!!

  7. I got permission to skip puréed from my surgeon's office since I had never had any problems -- no vomiting' date=' no nausea, no complications. Started with super soft food, scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt, cream Soups, moist chicken, mashed potatoes. No fresh fruits or veggies, only well-cooked mushy veggies. No bread, crackers or other carbs.[/quote']

Same Here... Had none of the common PostOp sleeve irritations nor complications. Was given authorization to ease into soft foods and moist chicken. I soak both chicken and a lil mashed potatoes in broth. GOOD so far!!

  8. How far out are you? Your stomach is going to be swollen for many weeks post-op. As the swelling goes down' date=' it is going to be moving, shifting and doing all sorts of crazy things whenever you eat/drink.[/quote']

Hi I am 2wks PostOp... When should I expect my stomach to feel like the "New Normal".????

After every taste, sip, swallow I get a lot of gurgling and indigestion sounds. (It sounds like a dish washer..) :-(

  9. Oh my goodness... I tell anyone who asks!!! I feel like this surgery saved my life and if me telling my story could save anyone else I don't care who knows. The only reason I am off all 3 bp meds and I don't sleep with the cpap is because a co worked talked about her surgery. I will forever be thankful that she wasn't shy' date=' embarrassed or a private person!!! If she was, I would be hooked up to my auto bp machine asking my husband if we need to take me to the er because of my high BP....[/quote']

I love your answer! I respect your outlook and candidness! Contrary to how this may sound, I must admit that I too, am a "PRIVATE PERSON".! When I originally began this VSG process back in April of 2013, the question "What will I say when they notice??" consistently raced through my head. Being the private person that I am, and feeling somewhat embarrassed by having to result to weight loss surgery, I initially could not get over the fear and fact of sharing that I could NOT do it by myself. I contemplated on answers such as "having my gall bladder removed", "female issues","thyroid problems" and half a dozen more. Then I was slapped in the face with a reality check!!! I was slapped with HUMILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, SELF-WORTH and OWNERSHIP. The very same qualities that I instill in my children. Not only would I be disrespecting real, existing survivors of my fabricated "health issues", in addition, I would also be taking the Biblical scripture "Life and Death is in the power of the tongue" with a grain of salt.(Proverbs 18:21) I knew that I did not want to later experience those things in life by trying to hide from the TRUTH. Approximately, 65% of the world reside in countries where obesity kills. Based on estimates of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariactric Surgery, there have been close to 1/2 a million bariactric surgeries. WE ARE NOT IN THIS ALONE. All of the VSG support groups, Forums, Blog-sites, web communities are there to assist us all in becoming a united front and part of the bariactric family. I was in hiding, denial and depression for far too many years while being obese and I will NOT Continue living that way in my new journey! I will LIVE, I will CONQUER and not allow my inhibitions to intercept my greatness. This surgery saved my life and I'm so grateful that I was blessed by having someone share the knowledge behind it! KNOWLEDGE is power! No need for me to embellish the truth. Yes, I work hard by working out, making wise food choices and increasing my Protein intake. I could say that.. But if one happens to pry further, I'll share how my fire was ignited by this great VSG tool! By no means, am I suggesting that we should send a mass email to our entire office, friends and family. All I am saying is that there is a median between choosing to NOT SHARE AT ALL and Broadcasting to everyone. After all, in some form or some way.. Someone, originally SHARED it with YOU. At some point in OUR "Private Personal" lives we should give back by sharing, educating and providing knowledge of the vertical sleeve and how it's changed our health for the better <3 #TeamHealthy #Integrity #1LifeAtATime #GiveBack
