post surgical sexual intimicies
kaohinani replied to kaohinani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW. I never thought of the increase in sex as a side effect. My hubby will really enjoy that one, we have a very active sex life already ( about 6-7 times a week) . How will we find time for our usual activities now, like work, and eating. Hey now, thats an idea, sex instead of eating. Good Luck to all of you, keep us "posted" on whats going on. Aloha... -
Thanks for sharing, I was wondering the same thing myself. My hubby and I occasionally enjoy the rough stuff, so at least now I know to be careful.

Fed Up, Had-it, Ready To Give Up
kaohinani replied to Bamalama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, please don't give up. I can sympathize. It is the same for me and my husband, it seems they keep finding things that we need to do, seems a little disorganized, but I am going to keep at it. Oh and try having to fly over to another island everytime we have to visit him and do another appointment. That also requires us to get a rent a car and airfar, and sometimes a hotel room. But at least our insurance is paying for surgery. I hope things get better, and chin up, there is an end. Good Luck -

I would like to hear from you. As I am sure so would a lot of other people. Mahalo all. -

You guys are awesome!!!!! I guess Shaydee is right, I won't know until I try it. But if by chance someone out there has tried it, please let me know, I would rather not be throwing up or having a PB (ewww) with that one. -
How often do people need to buy new clothes?

Sick days or vacation
kaohinani replied to pamla68's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I guess that would depend on how many days you have of each, but I would recommend the sick days first, then if needed use the vacation days for later. Your doctor could always rewrite another note stating that you can return earlier. -
Questions for the surgeon
kaohinani replied to Jodieleigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To tell you the truth, since my husband and I have been on this website, we have gotten so many of our questions answered that I don't think we had many for the surgeon. Although recovery questions are good to ask, how long, when can you return to work, activities(when can they be resumed) ? Things like that. Good Luck -
OK so now that I have seen/not seen Dr. Fowler in his seminar, he was in emergency surgery, so we kind of had a semi-seminar. We also saw the psychologist, what a waste of time that was. I guess since we were normal, it was like a waste of time. Then we saw the Physical Thereapist, to see if we were OK to exercise after surgery. That went OK, then we saw Mary the nutritionist, and that was the most helpful of all, she was able to answer most of our questions about eating after the surgery and gave us a transition diet to follow, wow, it is difficult. I guess I have to get used to the feeling of not being full, and having food in my stomach. We are trying and I think doing OK, we will see with time. Well tata for now.

How soon can my husband & I be intimate?
kaohinani replied to annielkd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad that I am not the only one thinking about these things, but I have another question. In terms of "types" of sexual intimacies, now that my stomach is smaller, are there other restrictions of what can go in there and how would it affect me if at all? I hope you all understand what I mean, without my having to be too graphic... Any help would be appreciated. Mahalo.... -
Hey ladies, I have a slightly private matter, has any of you had your surgery when you were very close to your time of the month, or even had surgery when it was time? I am scheduling my surgery around the time I can get off from work, then I just realized that it also may be that time for me too. How would the recovery be??? Help????

I know that we need to be concerned about clear liquids right after the surgery, but has anyone heard anything about miso soup? Its a soy based soup and is not really clear although it is full of protein and there is no "solid" food in it. Any thoughts??
