3 months out & baby crazy!

The most important thing is the baby! You want to be able to make sure your baby can be a safe place for it to grow! Truly, you only need a few extra hundred calories a day to sustain a pregnancy, but so early out it would be best to wait.

    fertility issues

Maybe you just need more time for your body to readjust? I (partly) had weight loss surgery for fertility issues. I have PCOS and I bled for almost a year straight. I had a D&C earlier this year to remove a polyp. I was on my period during surgery and I'm 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I haven't started back yet. I think it will just take a while for your body to level out.

How long is leakage a risk?

I know the chance of a leak gets less and less as time goes by, but (not to freak anyone out!) I did read a medical article once of a few people who had developed a leak about 16 months post op.
  5. Right after I had surgery, my husband would not eat hardly anything at all because I couldn't eat. I appreciated it so much and it was sweet - but it made me feel terrible! Mostly because I KNEW he was hungry and I wasn't! So I cooked him dinner and he ate. He wouldn't not eat if I cooked - especially with me not feeling 100%. I just had to explain to him that he had to eat and that I wasn't even hungry. He can't change everything he does just because I have to. I loved that he was trying to make the effort - but he just can't do that.

    5 days post op

My doc said to just mix the protein powder with water and it still counts as some of your fluid for the day. Also, once I got rid of most of my gas, the nausea stopped. I noticed that when I had gas in my tummy it made me feel queasy, then I would burp and feel better. Make sure you walk a TON! It really does help! I didn't poo until the day after I got home from the hospital. It will get easier! The first week for me was the very hardest! Now I'm starting into my third week post-op and I'm feel much better! Good luck to you!
  7. You look great! Congrats!!!

    Staples - Long Term

My doc told me sometimes they will get pushed into your belly from scar tissue and you just poop them out.
  10. My highest weight was 382.5, day of surgery 371, and as of last Tuesday I was 356. I get to weigh again Tuesday and I can't wait!
  11. Yeah, a tummy teddy is a teddy bear that's flat on the back to use after surgery.

  14. Yeah, that's me. My incisions have healed pretty good so far, but all around is super itchy.
  15. I didn't have a drain or bandages. I was glued lol
  16. Completely off topic, but I wanted to share! It makes me laugh every time I see my username. I have five incisions from my surgery. My three year old likes to count them every day and make sure they're getting better. He's been telling people I have six belly buttons! I thought that was kind of funny! LOL!
  17. I lost 15 pounds after my first week too! Isn't that awesome! It's so nice to finally see the scale going down! Also, I'm about a week and half out...does anyone else have an itchy belly? My incisions are healing well but my belly is itching me to death!
  18. I had to do a 4 hour pre-op class. My doctor gives out a binder full of EVERYTHING that you go through before, during, and after surgery. In my class they went over the binder, things you can eat, things you can't eat, things to avoid before surgery, we signed our consent for surgery forms, and they also gave out our tummy teddys. It wasn't bad. I learned a lot of neat stuff. Like to not to drink anything red or purple before surgery.
  19. I ended up telling my entire family. Everyone was very supportive of me and it really made my decision a lot easier. I'm from the south and family is super important to me. I had my surgery a week and a half ago and they have all been calling and emailing to check on me. It's nice. Also, other than my family, I really don't care what anyone else thinks so I just told people I come across. I have no idea why, but I had this strange idea that I needed to go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned right before surgery (lol) and I told hiim too. He was supportive but warned me to make sure I brush my teeth every time I throw up...lol! I've been super lucky (so far) with that though. My two days in the hospial I was SUPER queasy the whole time, but right before I went home it went away. So far so good! Adjusting has been HARD but not impossible! I'm just glad I researched everything for a long, long, long time! It took me years to finally go through with the surgery and I think knowing everything I could beforehand really helped me to adjust and be as prepared as possible afterwards! Good luck to you making your decision!
  20. This might be a stupid question, but does the size of the bougie affect how big your sleeve is? My doc used a 40.

Thanks! That's a great idea! I hadn't even thought of something like that.
