    Nausea and vomiting

Are you getting all of your fluids in?
  2. Glad you're feeling better! I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out!
  3. Get used to the weird belly sounds. I'm three months post op and I still have them.
  4. I am definitely afraid of going bald! I'm losing hair like crazy and I'm three months post op. I can't wait for it to stop!!!

    TMI warning! Ladies Only!

I have PCOS and I bled for almost a year (before surgery.) My gyno suggested the surgery for me. I was bleeding because u had a polyp. I had to have a D&C and take Provera and then I finally got a little better. I've had about 5 periods since surgery and I was on my period during surgery. I'm three months post op.

    Post-Op Fever

I had a fever the whole time I was in the hospital and then had one off and on for a couple of weeks after surgery. My doctor wasn't concerned unless it got high, but it never did. It eventually just stopped on it's own. No idea why I had the fever.
  7. I was on my period during surgery. They made me take everything off except a hospital gown. They did lay some kind of thing underneath me, but still no pad or panties. It was not fun.
  8. Fair warning - I cut my head off. I'm not brave enough to show all of myself just yet. I did, however, want to post what I've lost so far. I'm down 51.5 pounds in 2 months and 1 week. This will be the first pic I've posted on here so I'm a little nervous! Anyway, 50 pounds has barely made in a dent int he way I look, but I have gone down from a 26 to a 22!!! That's definitely exciting! I haven't been able to wear a 22 in about 6 years!!!

    Worried This Won't Work...anyone Else?

I lost 15 pound the first week after surgery. The next two weeks I only lost 3 pounds. So I got super depressed and didn't weight again for a month. During that month I lost 25 pounds! I'm down 51.5 pounds now and I'm 2 months post op!

Progress So Far - With Pic

Is it not working? I'm not always the best at adding pics .... :\
  11. My husband stayed with me the whole time. My parents kept our son so he could stay with me. I was so glad he stayed because he helped me in the bathroom. On day 2 they let me wash off and he helped with that too. It was better him to help me with that than a nurse because he's seen it all before lol

Has This Happened To Anyone Else?

I didn't have that happen exactly, but right after surgery - when I would walk - my right arm would get red and super hot to the touch. They had no idea why it was doing that! After a few days it stopped. I never got an explanation for it. I also got a fever off and on the first couple of weeks after surgery - not a really high fever, but still. It worried me. I asked my doctor and they had no answers. I guess it was just stuff adjusting. If it worries you, ask your doctor. That's what they're there for.
  13. I was on my period during surgery. I was on pain meds so it didn't really bother me that bad. I also was asleep a lot so I missed most of it. The worst part was not being able to wear panties during surgery. That was not fun.

I Did It, I Cheated... Help

Don't feel so bad about cheating. I wanted a Baconator SO bad on my pre-op diet and I didn't give in and get it - and to be perfectly honest I really wish I had gotten it. I'm 2 months post op now and I can have a bite or two - and I'm at point now that it doesn't bother to think about a Baconator, but everything is different now. Even if I wanted to eat a WHOLE Baconator it would probably take me ALL day and part of the next day. I'm incredibly THANKFUL for that too - because if I didn't get sleeved I would still be eating Baconators all the time! I'm rambling but my point is - don't beat yourself up about because once you're sleeved you won't be able to eat like that!
  15. I had my surgery on September 17th of this year - so I'm around 2 months out. About five days ago, I woke up having heart palpitations. I've never had anything like that before. I'd missed my Vitamins for two days (we've had some problems with our home we were trying to get fixed and it slipped my mind) so my mom thought maybe my potassium was low. Anyway, I took my vitamins and the palpitations slowed down and were more infrequent, but they didn't stop completely. Since then, my chest has felt heavy and I've been EXTREMELY tired. I have no idea what's going on. I called my doctors office and the dietitian said I might be dehydrated. So I called my family doctor to get an order to go get some Fluid (which I will be doing later this evening once my son is asleep) but the nurse called me back and said that palpitations are NOT a symptom of dehydration and I should see my cardiologist. I told her I don't have a cardiologist so she said I should see my family doctor. I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else? I've been just GREAT since my surgery - no problems at all. No intolerance to any foods and I've never even thrown up once since having surgery. This whole time I've been thinking "When is it going to hit the fan!?" and now I'm really afraid that there is something wrong with me. My chest has been really heavy feeling for days and I've had some palpitations off and on and I've been totally exhausted. I can't keep my eyes open. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

    Is Something Wrong?

Well, I'm home now. I have my heart monitor on and I'll return it tomorrow. The doctor never got the results for my B12 back, but my Iron was good. I took two huge potassium pills and they gave me Fluid and I am already feeling better some. He said he thinks I'm having PVC's because my heart - like the rest of my body - is just readjusting from the surgery. He was SUPER nice! He said just give it a few months and everything should line out.

    Is Something Wrong?

Potassium was low. I still have to get my iron checked. Getting iv fluid and I have to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours. Oddly enough, the guy who put on my monitor had the sleeve done by the same doctor as me! Also, they gave me two big huge potassium pills to take. Are those okay to swallow?

    Is Something Wrong?

Thanks you guys. I am at the ER right now. They just took me back. One good thing - I just weighed in at 331!!!!!

    Is Something Wrong?

Nope. No fever. I was fine the day before. It just kind of happened suddenly. It was first thing in the morning - right when I woke up.
  20. Yes, I can eat pretty much anything - which I havent decided yet if that's a blessing or a curse. I've never thrown up. Nothing has ever made me sick. So that makes me super scared of a few bites of cake.
  21. This is the whole reason I logged on today. Taco Bell is my favorite! I'm having a really hard day. I'm almost 7 weeks post op and I feel fatter than ever. Its cold, there's a fire going, I'm at my moms and she's cooking and I desperately want to eat with my family. Its just awful. I'm not losing weight as fast as I thought I would either, so that just makes it worse. I ate a few bites of cake earlier too and now I feel bad about that.
  22. Post op. I was basically on liquids for 3 weeks after surgery...then I was allowed bananas and peanut butter. Then some fish. So it seemed like I was just eating soup or water FOREVER.
  23. My doc said liquids pretty much go straight out. I was drinking too slowly because I was afraid of over filling my sleeve, but once she told me that I started drinking a lot faster. I will be 5 weeks post op on Tuesday and I can drink about 16 ounces in 15-20 minutes with no problem.
  24. My glue took almost 3 weeks to come all the way off.

What I wish I had known

I wish I hadn't stocked up on ANYTHING! Nothing really made me sick, but there were things I just didn't want to eat. Jell-O was WAY too sweet for me to handle and I had bought 5 or 6 packs before surgery. I still have a fridge full of Jell-O. I have to agree with the whole "missing things you love" comment! Even though I haven't been hungry in the 4 weeks since my surgery, I sometimes think, "Man, I'd love to eat a couple slices of pizza!" And then I think even if I did try to eat pizza, I'd probably only get 3 or 4 bites. I really miss the way food made me feel! But at least the scale is going down and not up! I do wish I'd done this YEARS ago before I had gotten so big.
