  1. No Laura I'm not a vegetarian. Lol I eat chicken mostly. I am afraid to eat more. I have been stalled for months now...I didn't realize fruit was considered a carb !! Like I said I eat alot of chicken I guess I'm afraid to eat it all the time. Are veggies considered carbs too ? Lately I've been eating polenta (corn meal) with some chilli (1/2 cup) approx. I appreciate the responses guys.
  2. Hi all, I am hoping and praying for some help here. I am 6 months out (self pay Mexico) I just don't know what to eat. I don't like fish, seafood or eggs so I am struggling with what I should be eating (balanced). I usually have a small spinach salad with some pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries...I make a dressing of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I snack on raw fruit or yogurt or some goldfish crackers. I still have a protein shake in the morning and try to get in my water, some days are better then others. If anyone can offer any advice I would appreciate it. I have been stalled for months
  3. Hi I'm doing ok, I am a slow loser but I'm not giving up !! How are you doing?? How much have you lost so far ? Are you feeling good ? Keep in touch. All the best to you
  4. Hey I just saw this. Your probably already sleeved by now so hows it going.? PM me and let me know how your managing. I was sleeved 6 months ago....and I'm a really slow loser but I'm still trying. Take care
  5. You look great, but I'd lose the lip ring...not so sexy...just sayin maybe it's an age thing
  6. Hi samsjourney where abouts inT.O. Are ya?? Have you started your pre op yet ??
  7. Has anyone had a stall that lasted 2 months or longer. ??
  8. Hi Kapoorvilla. I have been stalled for about 3 months now... I was sleeved Jan 21st this year. I lost about 21lbs pre op and about 14 lbs post op. I am thinking about trying a liqued diet again as well. I have tried upping my protein, no change. I have tried cutting back on my protein...no change. I don't think alot of people on here understand the frustration of getting on the scale and it not changing at all !!! I mean if I lost a pound a week at least that would be something.. but nothing ?!? how can that even be possible !!? I totally understand your frustration. I'll be doing the liqued diet again too It really sucks that there is no help for people like us !
  9. Not sure where you're from but in Canada we have "blue menu" brands. Much healthier than lean cuisine or smart ones. And there really tasty too, I eat the fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli...mmm I tend to stay away from the meat ones because they don't taste like real meat to me.
  10. Hi mrshorsestinger. Where are you from ? I am in Brampton. I was sleeved January 21st, 2013. I did self pay in PV by Dr. Joya. Where are you having your surgery done?
  11. Hi all, I'm from Toronto originally, living in Brampton now. I had surgery done January 21st of this year. I was self pay in PV I used Dr. Joya. If you have any questions I can help with let me know
  12. You can always add sliced oranges, lemon, grapefruit and mint to your water. It will flavour it and you have a handy snack too
  13. I walk on my lunch hour, I have something small to eat then grab my water and walk walk walk
  14. Thank you Arts137 for the support I started at 265lbs I lost 21lbs pre op and I lost 14lbs within the first two weeks after surgery. I have however been stalled ever since. I did lose some inches but that stopped maybe a month or so ago too JKG I am trying to mix it up...more Protein, less protein etc... Angeliclady I am pretty active, as much as I can be for now...I walk at work on my lunch, I have a treadmill and I use my excercise ball. Daybyday thank you for the advice I may have to try that next Nursegrace, I will check out the message you sent me...thank you for the support Ms. Antiband thank you too for the support I will keep trying to figure it all out...it does get exhausting after a while, but it is really nice to have some really good supportive people on here. THANK YOU !!!
  15. I was sleeved January 2013 and have been stuck at the same weight for months I have written on here to seek some advice and I have tried the suggestions I've gotten. More protein and water, less protein, no more protein shakes etc. I have mixed up my exercise routine...tracked what I eat etc...no luck or change. I was losing inches but thats stopped too. I am so upset, discouraged, frustrated and desperate I am a self pay so I don't have a Dr. to discuss this with. I have spoken to my family Dr. who said she can't help me....so not what I wanted to hear right now. I have met with a nutritionist who said I'm eating pretty well, she'd like me to eat more but I take in what I can. I think I'm broken mentally and physically I sure as s*it wasn't expecting this !
  16. I am 3 months post op too. I have been in a stall for the last two months !! I am beyond frustrated !! I drink 2 protein shakes a day for a total of 50 grams of protein there, plus whatever I can get in food wise. I am thinking of trying a water fast to see if Zi can break this damn stall !! I exercise, drink drink drink....I just can't believe this. I hope your stall breaks soon, keep me posted!!
  17. Unfortunately stretch marks don't go away, they do fade some but there will always be there. Just think of them as your "battle scars". Embrace them is my advice... most people do have them somewhere on their body. Good luck with your weight loss
  18. I have an account on fitness pal but I don't know how to track regular food. I make chicken and sweet potato or squash and veggies but I don't know how much protein, sugar etc there is in my meal !! I drink a fair amount of water, sip all day long. I don't know maybe I will try cutting out the protein drinks all together and see how that works I'm sooo confused! I am not losing anything..if it was slow I would be happy but the scales literally not moving !!!
  19. I am going nuts here...I had surgery in January and I'm only down 35lbs total (including 21 lbs pre op). I am exercising, I am eating properly, in fact I have been trying to see if I could "shock"myself into losing again by upping my protein...no luck I'm getting desperate here. I am wondering if I should go back on a liquid diet like I was on for pre op. I have had some suggestions from people on here, and I've tried most of them... the scale isn't moving :/ I don't know what to do. I don't have a Dr. I am "self paid" when I see my family Dr she's at a loss. I did see a nutritionist and she told me to try to get all my protein from food and not shakes... not possible!! Besides that doesn't help me anyhow because the scales not moving !!! Argh I am so frustrated !!!! Sorry I just had to vent, I don't have anyone to talk too here at home
  20. Barbie1974. I qas sleeved same day and am only down 35lbs too. Sounds like we're in the same boat !!
  21. Hi Frb78910 I was sleeved Jan 21 too. I have lost a total of 35lbs including pre op (21 lbs pre) 14 post. I have been stalled for a while now about 2 months... I can understand your frustration...especially when you hear about everyones progress. But I've gotten some great suggestions from this site that I'm trying, so I am praying that my stall will break very soon !! Just keep getting in your protein and water and I'm sure your stall will break too. Keep me posted
  22. Serenity1959 I needed a seatbelt extender when I flew to Mexico for my surgery. I called the airline before hand and asked if I could bring my own extender, they said no. So when I boarded the plane I asked one of the attendants for a belt, she said sure I'll bring it to you...well she left me waiting and waiting until I finally had to ring for another attendant. Everyone around me heard me ask but I thought to myself "never again", never again am I gonna have to ask for an extender...very empowering. I had a great attendant on my way home. I would suggest waiting until your seated and then ask for one. With your head held high
  23. I can understand what your going through but I think this time you won't get that same satisfaction from grazing. For one thing just try to make sure you have a high protein meal first, then allow yourself to indulge in something very small. That way you'll get the best of both worlds, a little indulgence without all the guilt. If you allow yourself these little indulgences every now and again I think it will become easier when your home alone not to scarf everything you can get down your throat. Now I know that there are many people on here who will not agree with me, but just wanted you to know your normal and it's ok to feel like this sometime cheers
  24. Thank you CBT what a cool little trick !! So according to my calculation then I should be aiming for a minimum of 60 grams of protein. I am currently walking for exercise. I wish I could do yoga or something but I have arthritis so right now it's too difficult to get down on the floor. I will start swimming once the weather heats up some. I also do the WiFit. Hoola hooping and step mostly.
