    Closet Eater....and I'm coming out!

I can understand what your going through but I think this time you won't get that same satisfaction from grazing. For one thing just try to make sure you have a high protein meal first, then allow yourself to indulge in something very small. That way you'll get the best of both worlds, a little indulgence without all the guilt. If you allow yourself these little indulgences every now and again I think it will become easier when your home alone not to scarf everything you can get down your throat. Now I know that there are many people on here who will not agree with me, but just wanted you to know your normal and it's ok to feel like this sometime cheers

How much protein do I need?

Thank you CBT what a cool little trick !! So according to my calculation then I should be aiming for a minimum of 60 grams of protein. I am currently walking for exercise. I wish I could do yoga or something but I have arthritis so right now it's too difficult to get down on the floor. I will start swimming once the weather heats up some. I also do the WiFit. Hoola hooping and step mostly.

I'm sure he's gonna love it..and if he doesn't which I highly doubt, it's his loss !! You always were and always will be normal, just in a different sized body

How much protein do I need?

Amazon13 I really appreciate all the suggestions and I promise I will give some of them a try. I do not like eggs, wish I did but I really can't stand them after my surgery. Cheese strings are really rubbery but I can force them down. I don't like fish or jerky I tried to eat tuna...but it wouldn't stay down... I am limited with what I can eat....I was hoping my tastes would change a little after surgery but no such luck. I don't like yogurt but I can tolerate the activia kind sometimes...I find I feel really nauseous if it's too cold, but then I can't eat it if it's room temp...yuck !! I tried the drinkable kind but it's really acidic. I sound like such a complainer !! LOL none the less I appreciate your suggestions. I was thinking I may make my own granola to snack on throughout the day...I can load it up with nuts and dried fruit

How much protein do I need?

Momof2boys I know what you mean about the protein after surgery...I couldn't drink anymore of powdered stuff !! I am however now drinking a premade protein drink from GNC. Not the most tasty but I know I need it. I am going to try to get in 2 or 3 of them a day to see if I can break this stall. Each one has 25 grams of protein so I am so hopefull that is helps. I have a case of Ensure High Protein drinks to try too. P/S LOL @ "I always round it up to 2". I feel ya girl
  7. I am 3 months out and I still get it ! It feels like a big air bubble that has to come up but can't. It is painful and frustrating. If I'm eating at the time then I stop for a couple minutes...it subsides momentarily but thats it. I am usually uncomfortable for up to a couple of hours after. It feels like I need to belch...I'm not now nor have I ever been a belcher but it feels like that is what has to happen in order to relieve the pressure. Sometimes if I can a burp up, a little bit of vomit comes up too... Tmi ? sorry just being honest. I feel your pain RichardVST and I also agree that an ENT isn't going to help... but hey you never know. Let me know what happens !! You can pm me if you like Cheers

How much protein do I need?

First of all... I have to say Thank you ladies !! I am 40, female, 5' 1 and a 1/2 inches and I currently weigh 235lbs. Starting weight was 265 lbs. I was sleeved Jan 21st, 2013. I went through my paperwork and all it says is that I should aim for 80 grams of Protein, but it doesn't say how long after surgery to aim for this or how to get it all in. I am eating regular foods. Making good choices of course. Those damn goldfish....I'm addicted to them !!! lol I have tried edamame (roasted) there ok...nice and crunchy, I'm not a huge fan but I can snack on them. I am such a snacker...always have been. I would much rather snack all day and not eat a single sit down meal...I'm trying to change my habits but it's tough for sure. I get so busy at work that I don't get alot of time to even leave my desk... convenience of goldfish again... I am drinking as much as I can...I guess because of my snacking I can't be drinking 1/2 before or 1 hour after... hmmm. Thank you so much for taking time to reply...I am grateful as I am going through this all alone here. Don't have any family or friends to confide in.... this site is great but it would be nice to be able to have someone local to support me and visa versa. Good luck to you rickyswife, all I can say is walk walk walk !!

    Desperately seeking advice

Thank you all so much for taking the time to respond. I don't think I am getting enough Protein...I think I will cut out all carbs for now and just concentrate on my protein and drinking Water. I will also take the advice about switching up my workouts...and try some cardio. I really hope this works...it's very tough to see the scale stuck in the same position. You guys are awesome !! I can't tell you how much it means to me to have somewhere to go to vent.

6 weeks out and im stalling

Thanks for the advice...Miss Meow I thought they'd be willing to help me too, but I was told I cannot join their program as they did not preform my surgery!! ridiculous right?!? I have gone to see a nutritionist (self pay) but she didn't seem to get that I really can't eat alot of things yet. I was told I should be getting all my nutrients from food...no way can I do that yet...it's still such a stuggle to get a variety of food down. I am taking 2 chewable Calcium with Vitamin D and two chewable Vitamins everyday to make sure I am getting nutrients. @ bmbrush413 am going to try my fitness pal out...I've seen postings on here that say it's pretty good. Thanks I wish I had a friend or two that I could share my struggles and triumphs with...wouldn't it be nice to have someone to share some healthy meals with ? I find I make soo much food and have to end up throwing so much out because I of course make too much and can only freeze so much...anyhow sorry about the rant...sometimes I feel like I am all alone in this journey Thanks again for all the great advice...I am gonna go set up an account now on fitness pal Cheers ladies !!

6 weeks out and im stalling

Thank you Shrinking mom for the advice. I am finding it difficult to eat a meal, which is another reason why I prefer to eat a little bit at a time throughout the day. My most difficult meal is Breakfast...I don't like eggs and I'm sick of porridge...but I will have to keep experimenting to figure something out. I did self pay in Mexico so I don't have anyone who is looking after me (ie, nut) I have been looking but noone wants to do "after" care on someone who didn't use them for the surgery. I am not so good at writing everything down either....sound like an ass I know but it's just that I don't eat full servings of things so I'm not sure how to calculate everything :/ I do alot of walking for exercise in fact I bought a treadmill so I can walk even when it's bad weather out. I must try harder to find a nut and try to keep better track of what food I can get down. Thanks again, by the way you look awesome !! I checked out your before and after pics !! way to go !! I hope that will be me sometime soon cheers
