thank you so much for the advice. what a horrible weekend i had. i got some gas x tablets and gentle dulcolax on friday. as soon as i started taking the gas x i began burping non stop, so maybe it was just a huge gas bubble which im not sure how i got that way. from the laxative i got so sick to my stomach and was so nauseous saturday. im feeling 100 times better today though my banana still feels a little wonky.
im going to take it easy on my sleeve a few days and just have some Soup. i hardly have an appetite through this past week, and as a result ended up losing 4 more pounds.
guess my sleeve gave me a gentle reminder of who's the boss!

On this past sunday i commited a big no-no and have been paying the piper ever since. I ate three pieces of 1/2 inch thick italian bread. Ive never done anything like this since having my sleeve i am 8 months post op. Now i am only assuming the bread is the culprit, but ever since then i have been feeling so bloated with a tightness in my stomach.. its not painful, just very uncomfortable and as a result i havent been able to get too much else in.
i literally feel like i am CLOGGED! has anyone had any experience with bread doing this? how long does it take until itll pass and is there anything i can take to help it along? maybe a laxative? or could this be caused by something else?? any advice is appreciated. Never again.....

I had a wonderful NSV over the weekend, for the first time in my life i wore a pair of WHITE pants. I was so nervous and almost chickened out...But i got so many positive reactions. more than 5 people actually said WOW you look GREAT! I dont think im quite brave enough for a swimsuit yet but Im happy with this! loving my sleeve!

sounds like something I have too. Except im burping a lot. Feels like my stomach is full with pressure and lots of pain. Scared to eat or drink. I had surgery sept.2011 almost 3 years ago and it just stated last week. the first time lasted 3 days. I chewed several Pepcid Complete. then after 4 days it came back. feels like a knife going thru me when I eat.
exactly what it feels like! its like a burning/uncomfortable warming sensation. have you spoke to the doctor about it?
-
I also before the nexium Pepcid combo
I was chewing 8 tums plus a day and it was doing nothing
yes the tums do absolutely nothing. i think im going to try the nexium instead of the prilosec. it subsided for a few days and now its back

thank you for response. im not sure i worded my post correctly to get my point across. im 7 months out and this just started. if it was b/c of caffeine, wouldnt it have been happening all along?
-
Caffeine may be the culprit. It causes your stomach to produce more hydrochloric acid. Try Decaf.< /p>
i have been using decaf
-
Im not sure whats going on here but the past few days ive been having pretty bad heartburn, nothing seems to be helping, ive been taking prilosec and tums
I also have what i can only describe as a sour/queasy/uncomfortable stomach thats really annoying. it almost feels like when i drink certain things (coffee/tea/iced coffee) that the lining of my stomach is burning. not in one particular area, just all around burning. any thoughts on what this could be?
editing to say that i am 7 months out if that makes a difference. it doesnt only happen with coffee/tea. it can feel sour just over nothing and it just started about a week ago.

My dr sent me home with a presciption for prevacid dissolvable tablets that i had to take for 30 days post op

hey everyone! i dont remember when was the last time i checked in. my surgery was 11-12-13. sw was 257 current weight 189. my body is in a stall. i only lost 2lbs in may. spoke with my dr about my stalls and he said i need to get my activity level up. i dont have much exercise beyond walking to and from bus and picking up my kids from school. Ive got the eating part down but i seriously lack motivation when it comes to working out
ive got to find what works for me if i ever want this stall to break. i dont have time or money to join a gym and i tire quickly of doing the same workout dvd over and over..

i have pretty thick hair at around 3 months my hair started thinning on the sides and i had to stop using my eyelash curler b/c when i did my lashes would just crumble.
ive been taking Biotin since end of march (5000 units i believe). Hair loss is still about the same, i get at least a brush full everyday plus its always all over the inside of my jacket. but as of last night my eyelashes have finally seemed to regain their strength.
i agree with bufflehead, toppix is a great product to use and comes in a variety of colors

I'm no expert but if your body is used to 30 min of exercise I would do a little more . Mix things up. If you are just walking then try to jog for 1 minute a few times . Make it last for 45 minutes or longer . Just a thought
thanks, ive def been trying that. i did 45 mins of kickboxing monday night and yesterday in addition to the 30 mins of walking. today im gonna take a little rest and try it again tomorrow then weigh myself on friday and see if it made a difference.

I am coming up on 6 mos and have been stalled for more than a month. I will be seeing my nut and starting couch to 5k in a week! So frustrating!
indeed its very frustrating. i feel like the more see the scale not moving, the more times i step on it. yesterday i weighed myself about 8 times. ridiculous....i hid the scale in the back of the closet for now and im trying to increase my activity level.
-
im just over 6 months out and it seems like the first 50 lbs came off so easily, now its a task to lost even a pound a week. i managed to lose 8 lbs in the month of april. i have only lost 2 lbs since the beginning of may. i dont know what to do. i keep trying to adjust my calories and swap Protein Shakes in place of meals....please tell me my body isnt done losing weight yet!
any advice would be appreciated.
my activity level is about 30 mins a day

Oh how I envy you! I stalled out at 200.5 for two weeks now and I'm losing my mind about it (Notice I didn't say exercising my brains out or restricting my weekly wine intake about it lol)! Congrats!!! How are you going to Celebrate?
hmm i dont know. i really didnt even think about how to celebrate...any suggestions? you'll get there soon! i had been bouncing back and forth for about a month btwn 204 and 202. then i got down to 200 out of nowhere and as soon as i started upping my miles at the track, it came off.

i agree it sounds like "the slimes" i have never expierenced that myself and i have only vomited once after eating something very acidic early out. jersey girl gave great advice. youll find that different things sit differently. if i eat too fast or too much i get a sensation that it is stuck in my throat. it usually takes about an hour before i start to feel better.
take it very slowly. set a timer for yourself to eat an try to put down your fork between bites. at 4 months out i cook for my family but i find i am more comfortable eating by myself. i feel like i rush when other people are around.
-
that happened to me early out too after eating gravy. im only really able to eat it now at about 4 months out...
you should feel better within 45mins an hour
-
I'm 13 days out and for the first week mu abdomen was VERY vocal. Loud if I did or didn't eat. My roommate and friends could hear it if we were just hanging out watching TV or whatever. Became quite funny. It's calmed down quite a bit now, Thank goodness, since I go back to class tomorrow. Would have been embarrassing sitting on class with a belly that sounded like a wild animal!
Do you take prilosec or anything like that?
I had an extremely loid noise happen when i took my daughter to the dr. he just kinda gave me a weird look, i was so embarassed. 4 months out almost, i still get noises but not as freequently as i did the first few weeks. I do have it right now though, luckily im by myself in my office.

Has anyone given their sleeve a nickname and what the reason behind it? I've dubbed mine Sleevester Stallone after Sylvester Stallone LOL... my sleeve doesnt always know whats going on and just when you think its down for the count it kicks a$$ and takes names...(cue the Rocky music) I'm so happy with my sleeve!
