  1. Good morning all! was hoping someone could share their story for a sleeve revision to RNY. I am still waiting on my approval and surgery date, but want to start mentally preparing. my revision is due to reflux and regain

Did you have to follow a pre op diet for the revision?

is the weight loss slower after a revision? how much can I expect to lose a month? I lost on average 7 lbs monthly with sleeve.

was the recovery and post op pain a lot different than the sleeve or about the same?

how long was hospital stay? for my sleeve I only stayed over night

any other information would greatly be appreciated! thanks in advance!

  2. Hi all!

was sleeved back on 11-12-13. Sw 257lbs, Reached goal of 150 at 14 months out (January 2015)....got pregnant literally less than a week later. Baby girl is almost 2 now. Since my surgery I have suffered from reflux and its gotten continually worse to the point I feel like my inside are literally on fire. I also have no restriction whatsoever since my pregnancy and have managed to get back up to 185. I had an esophagram done may 5th and my surgeon wants to revise me to RNY sometime this month. They have already submitted to my insurance and I am just waiting for my approval. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. so happy to get relief from the reflux and get back on track . Im wondering what to expect with a revision. Will I lose a lot more weight?

  3. Been on a break from the site for a while... had my surgery back on 11-12-13. Sw 257lbs, Reached goal of 150 at 14 months out (January 2015)....got pregnant literally less than a week later. 4. Good morning everyone just looking for a little input here, I am 3 years out from sleeve also 15 months post pregnancy. In the beginning after my sleeve I could get away with taking a Prilosec every few days then it became that I needed to take it every day. during my pregnancy I had awful heartburn and would even wake up choking on acid. now it has gotten even worse, I literally feel like the lining of my stomach is burning. I have burning pain in my shoulder like someone is putting a cigarette out on me also with chest pains . Sometimes the burning is so much that I feel like my body is about to burst into flames. I did contact my surgeon and he tried having me double up on Prilosec.which did not work. in fact nothing over the counter works, even If I have not eat anything for the day and still have the worst heartburn ever. does this sound like GERD or something else?

I am scheduled to have an egd with bravo study on January 13th.i have also asked the gastroenterologist if he could check the condition of my sleeve as I have not had any restriction since the 4th month during my pregnancy. I went from 257 to 150 in a year. during the pregnancy I got up to 192 and right now I am sitting on about 176. the only thing that seems to give my stomach a bit of relief is when I do eat so I find myself grazing a lot now. I am hoping for a revision.

  5. Hi Everyone!

I had a healthy babygirl in October. I have been breastfeeding and I have gained so much weight POST PARTUM. During my pregnancy I only gained 11 pounds (baby was nearly 6) so really only 5 pounds I was back to prepregnancy weight 5 days after being discharged from the hospiatal. I have since gained 15 pounds. My question is has anyone had a sleeve revision post partum? I am looking for real expectiations before I make an appointment with a surgeon. I am near the end of my breastfeeding journey (not by choice).

You can look up the 5 day pouch reset basically you go on the liquids again go rest your pouch and shrink it again if you feel it has gotten bigger

ive done the pouch test 3 times already, and tried just all Protein shakes / liquids for 2 weeks. still sitting in the same boat, with no restriction. 3years out now

  6. There was an older thread about this. Some say they got their restriction back right after giving birth, others not so much! I'm terrified. I'm just two days short of 17 weeks and so far only up 4 lbs. If I focus on animal Proteins I fill up very fast and cannot eat much. If I eat chips or crackers I can eat way more!

I need to start tracking my food again. Making sure I get enough calories, but at the same time not overeating and putting on unnecessary weight.

i think I posted on the other thread as well. I had good restriction up until middle of second trimester. Havent had ANY (or rarely felt) restriction since then. I track using mfp, I even tried 2 rounds of pouch test, pure liquids and the Atkins diet to help get the restriction back and nothing still.

  8. Hi all! I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. I'm a little over a year out from VSG surgery and lost all but 5 pounds of my excess weight!!! Before finding out I was pregnant, I was eating an average of 800 calories a day. Now, I'm STARVED. I had not been hungry once since my surgery until about a week before I found out I was pregnant (should have been my first clue!). I'm eating about 1500-1600 calories a day now (which is a struggle) per my dietician. This still doesn't seem to be curbing my appetite however. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

hi stephh! i just had my baby 9-28-15. i started at 257 and was reached my goal of 150 when i was 14months out, then two weeks later i found out i was pregnant. i too was only taking in about 700-800 pre pregnancy. around 13 weeks pregnant i started getting insanely hungry, literally every two hours. for me it really didn't ease up until i was about 32weeks. my dr wanted me to take in about 1800 calories a day i ended up putting on 42lbs in total. i lost 15lbs after my c section taking me from 192 to 177. i have been stuck there for the past two minths unfortunately, the scale just doesn't want to move for me. keep taking in as much Protein as you can. keep high Protein Snacks with you if you're getting hungry often! congratulations on your pregnancy, you can pm me if any questions

Thank you so much for responding!!!!!! I feel like I'm in the exact same scenario you were. I feel so much better knowing that someone else is hungry too. I was afraid of it being head hunger.

Congratulations on your new baby! How was your pregnancy besides being hungry? Had you been pregnant before? Was it different? Sorry, I have SO many questions!!!

Your weight gain doesn't seem bad to me. It seems like a manageable weight and will probably come off. I already have argued with my Dr about gaining weight... He said I could aim for 10-20 pounds because I'm at the top end of my healthy weight range. So far, I've stayed steady, but I'm not very far along.

i sent you some photos in pm

this was my 3rd pregnancy and csection. my first two were before my sleeve and i was already over 200lbs wih them. i never got sick with my preop pregnancies, but this one i did. i felt like i had two modes i was either hungry or.nauseated lol. they kept telling me during my sonos that the baby was small she was the smallest of.my children but was still a healthy 6.5lbs with no complications. during the first trimester i put on 4lbs. i put most of the weight on in the second trimester and honestly it took me a bit.of time to come to terms with that scale going up. i.worked really hard to get down to 150. which is why im so frustrated with the scale not.moving now.

is this you first? when are you due?

  10. I'm 29 weeks and I've gained 16lbs so far. Stayed at 184, currently 200. I also notice I have less restriction, but I couldn't handle the 10oz glucose drink for my glucose test, so I know my sleeve is still doing is job! Looking to see what happens after I deliver.

My son Bryson was stillborn at 31 weeks. I was 202 when I delivered, currently 173. My restriction has tightened up a lot. I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight 1 week after delivering him and have lost 11 more since then. Maybe it's because I don't feel like eating anymore that is come off so well...but losing a child doesn't do great things to your mind. It absolutely sucks.
i am so sorry for your loss, i know that there are no words that can comfort you right now, tears instantly came to my eyes reading this. you will be in my prayers
