  1. indeed its very frustrating. i feel like the more see the scale not moving, the more times i step on it. yesterday i weighed myself about 8 times. ridiculous....i hid the scale in the back of the closet for now and im trying to increase my activity level.
  2. nothing to curb your appetite like the flu...ugh : (

  3. Well today is day 3 of 14. Seriously this is freaking hard. Im hoping after another 2 days or so my body will adjust. Ive been a grumpy gus the past few days. everyone at work keeps asking me whats wrong. Yesterday i really lost it and yelled at my kids (i felt so guilty). Idk if i lost any weight yet figured id wait until friday to weigh myself. But i def feel "lighter" on my feet today if that makes sense. ive been drinking 5 shakes today but thats pretty much it. Im allowed a few other things but dont have anything on hand right now. the end/beginning of the month is very rough in my house as im trying to catch up on bills. This liquid diet makes me feel kinda "wierd"....like off.... and i am really tired constantly. i guess when your body is used to taking in so many calories its such a shock to switch. I know the weekend is going to be very hard. I hope I can make it thru to the end of the pre op without giving in. Good luck to all the liquid dieters right now! and anyone having surgery this week!
  4. Im ecstatic. I am officially in onederland weighing in at 198.6! i am so proud of myself. its been 10+ years since i stepped on the scale and the number didnt start with a 2.....WOO HOO!

    I have arrived in ONEDERLAND!

hmm i dont know. i really didnt even think about how to celebrate...any suggestions? you'll get there soon! i had been bouncing back and forth for about a month btwn 204 and 202. then i got down to 200 out of nowhere and as soon as i started upping my miles at the track, it came off.
  7. omg this is my fav nickname! one of my fav movies too

    The learning curve

i agree it sounds like "the slimes" i have never expierenced that myself and i have only vomited once after eating something very acidic early out. jersey girl gave great advice. youll find that different things sit differently. if i eat too fast or too much i get a sensation that it is stuck in my throat. it usually takes about an hour before i start to feel better. take it very slowly. set a timer for yourself to eat an try to put down your fork between bites. at 4 months out i cook for my family but i find i am more comfortable eating by myself. i feel like i rush when other people are around.

    Starting liquid diet again

wow Donaboss! i cant believe what this conversation turned into. being in the same boat as you, i understood completely what you were trying to say and why you started with the liquids again. i read your food diary on mfp. hang in there. we will get through this! im not going to take offense to what anyone else said b/c people dont know the full story and i dont want that to sound snotty b/c its hard to convey tone in a post! when we stall, we try different things to jump start the wieght loss again, whether it be supplementing with shakes, upping/lowering calories/carbs. etc...
  12. i had the same reaction when i tried gravy so early out. your sleeve was telling you that you werent ready for that. now at almost 4 months out i can enjoy a little gravy and it sits pretty good! listen to your sleeve!

    Starting liquid diet again

ThNk you!!! I was just gonna say that. Who said we were eating junk food? I am just trying to say that I can eat more than 4 ounces. I don't hAve to take sips and I only drink Water, no sugar liquids. Did I try pizza? Yes I have . Can I eat more than 4 ounces? Yes! All I eat is healthy food which doesn't bother my stomach. I know I started with 213 and my doc said I won't lose as fast as others who are heavier and I was stuck at 178-180 for like 3 weeks so I started my liquid diet again to help the weight loss. Ohh and my last doc check up apparently I have this bacteria I forgot what is called but it makes u bloated and slows the weight loss. Next month is my 3 month check up and they will be giving me antibiotics. It's funny how people judge others so fast. Just bc I can't lose 50lbs in one month does not mean I'm eating junk! and I understand mamato2. Thank you for answering her question for me ... We are on the same boat. agreed! i def have not been eating crap! i dont even crave sweets or junk. i have had pizza though also. i was just meaning i was worried b/c i can eat more than 4oz sometimes. depends on what it is.... sarah jane....its pretty impossible to go back to eating like i did before.... anew tanya.... this is the BEST decision i ever made. and im imposing a liquid diet to jumpstart my weightloss since i am in a stall. stalls happen to everyone and im about halfway to my goal! you are still going to struggle a bit and you have to control what goes in your mouth still...

    How long should it take?

im more than 3 months out and i still only eat one egg with a little shredded cheese on top. i can eat more of certain things, depending on how dense the food is. i usually dont go past the 20 to 25 minute mark when eating.

    Disgusted and embarrassed!

agree with other posters on a few things def check out butterthebeans profile and as teachamy said someone posts about this everyday! it happened to me too. i lost 13 lbs the first week post op and then stalled from week 2 until around my 2 month mark and then out of no where lost another 16. hang in there your body is in shock and needs time to adjust.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

heres my progress so far: Surgery date 11-12-13 Starting weight:257 Day of surgery:242 Current weight:207 50 pounds lost so far. I am now in my second stall. first one start at 2 weeks post op. Going to try to do a semi liquid diet for a few days and see if that shocks my body into losing again.
  18. ive gotten this too. people keep saying my face looks sunken in and gaunt. i too am still over 200lbs. its probably just the shock of them seeing such rapid weight loss in so little time. I dont see it like that. im happy with the way i starting to look so to i hope you dont get too bummed b/c you are doing a great job!
  19. I never had any nausea after my surgery until this past weekend. I get a sick to my stomach feeling that comes and goes on and off throughout the day, but heightened in the mornings/evenings. I know for a fact that im not pregnant. i havent tried any new foods....its not so bad that i feel like i want to vomit but def comes in waves. I dont get the feeling after eating....in fact i only seem to feel it when I am NOT eating. if i eat a little something or have some coffee it goes away from a while. i get about 300 calories a day.
  20. Finally hit the 50lb mark! woo hoo!

my co worker just blew up my secret

yeah i guess that was it i was just caught "off guard" i chose who i wanted to tell and whether she told on purpose or not i was just kind of embarrassed b/c i was saying a different answer. plus it was said on front of someone who i know blabs around. there are 150+ employees in my store. ill just wait til they talk about something diffrent i guess. i wouldnt change getting my sleeve no matter what anyone thinks!
