  1. Surgery date 5/21 Lost 22lbs so far including one week pre-op milk diet x
  2. When can I restart with my Personal trainer? I was thinking 6 weeks post-op and start with gentle weight training and wait a while before moving to cardio. Even my walks at the moment are very slow as it still feels a bit uncomfortable at 12 days post op?
  3. I have never on my adult life been smaller than a uk size 14 I am currently an 18/20 and the possibility of making it to a size 12 never mind a size 10 is beyond exciting I really cannot wait! I'm only 7 days post op but I get on my scales every morning to see progress I shouldnt be so impatient but I can't help it.
  4. I'm 5 days post op. I haven't vomited once yet. For the first few days I was uncomfortable and very tired but eases every day. I've lost a total of 15lbs in as many days. This is amazing and I know I could never lose like this without WLS. Do it you will be a different person just grit your teeth for the first week and then happy days.
  5. I was sleeved 21st and have been light headed dizzy and had a small buzzing headache also very nauseous and find eating anything and getting my fluids in a massive struggle. I am however feeling a bit better each day and hope I will be stronger soon, I'm still in bed most of the day!
  6. I was sleeved on 21st in the UK. I stayed in hospital 2 nights and came home yesterday. I have been in bed since I got back and sipping water. I've managed to tolerate half a weetabix with milk and some soup but I really don't fancy soup, might stick to the cereal until I feel better. Drinking enough water is a constant battle and I hate all the meds bit I'm persevering. Getting up to walk around but still very tired.
  7. Wow this has been harder than I thought but much better today than when I came round yesterday i just wanted to sleep due to the pain meds and had a lot of indegestion type pain. I've been a lot better today up and about using the bathroom and drinking my Water. Managed half a cup of tea this morning but have an aching tummy. Been told I will get clear Soup at dinner not had anything food wise for so long now.
  8. About to be taken down for surgery ahhhh!! See you on the other side!
  9. I'm in my hospital room now and being taken down first thing in the morning for my surgery. Excited but it's all very real now does not help heat I've come down with a UTI and have pain already from that antibiotics not worked yet. Roll on getting this over and done with I hate waiting!
  10. I'm on day 6 of the milk diet (from the UK - have to drink 4 pts of semi-skimmed milk per day) I've lost 9lbs and I'm amazed! It's been pretty hard to do it.. and I've had moments where I seriously wanted to eat and had to cook dinner a few times for the family too. Luckily hubby did todays sunday lunch or I would have caved. Only 2 days till surgery so hopefully it will be worth it.
  11. My knees have been a little achy but a couple of months ago I hurt my knee at a fitness class and tore a muscle inside my knee and I struggle a lot now with pain and mobility its really debilitating. I'm in my 40's and have always been active so this is making me miserable and I'm gaining weight as I can't exercise. Surgery for the sleeve is scheduled on May 21st, do you think i will start getting more mobility if I can take the pressure off my knee as I lose weight? I am really hoping to see an improvement as I love exercise and at the momen I can't even do a short walk due to the pain.
  12. I shall watch this topic with interest as a pre-op vegetarian!
  13. That's the date of my sleeve surgery anyone else? Getting nervous but excited too! Would be good to share experiences along the way!
  14. I'm scheduled for 21st May but I'm in the UK
  15. Me too! I lost a 100lbs and had a TT and all bat gained it back again. I was hoping not to have a revision as it was a difficult surgery although I recovered quite well not I've never been balanced on both sides completely as my surgeon also did Lipo on my flanks and they are not completely symmetrical but it's not noticeable under all my extra weight.
  16. I have hurt my knee quite badly during an aerobics class and just walking on it is killing me at the moment. I'm sure it doesnt help that I have 257lbs grinding down on it ever step but I hurt it a couple of weeks ago and it feels worse every day and is now aching at night in bed. I'm starting to limp a bit now. I have not bothered with the doctor as I'm sure he will say its weight related which it probably is so I've made an appointment with a sports Physio instead which is going to hurt. My problem is though I cannot exercise or even walk comfortably at the moment which is helping me gain weight fast. My surgery is desperately needed I just hope as I start losing weight my knee pain will diminish as its really disabling at the moment.
  17. Excellent video very informative for nervous pre-oppers like me. Would you be so kind as to list the vitamin supplements he for me so that I can get a supply. I'm also I relieved to hear I can still take anti inflammatory mess and steroids if I need to.
  18. I'm having surgery on May 21st and my birthday is 3 days later! Not quite sure what to tell friends already trying to plan a night out and even a short trip away with me that week! I don't want them to know before hand but they keep bugging me.
  19. Yikes most of these replies have scared the hell out of me. Thanks for your honesty it's what I needed to hear if I pass this on to my husband he will say no don't do it and I've only just convinced him how much I need it!
  20. Thank you for your honesty.. well I've made the decision my surgery is scheduled for May 21st so I need to just come to terms with this once and for all I guess. Deep down I know this is going to happen and I just need to deal with this and mourn it for a while. Just hope my husband and family can be supportive as they all love food too!
  21. I'm sorry if you've been asked this already but has anyone regretted their surgery, with no complications? I have a bit of a love affair with food, it's such a part of my social life with my family and friends, we eat out a lot, we gather round the table for family meals every day, we celebrate with food, we comfort with food, we make up with food... jeez it's all about food. How do you deal with this and did any of you regret it or miss that side of things?
  22. Hi May Sleevers, just got my date confirmed for May 21st.. I'm in the UK but hope I can share and follow experiences with you all
