Good luck. You know, I understand exactly how you feel. For years I worked out 7 days a week an hour to 2 hours a day with very little weight loss. I did struggle with portion control and sweets but for the most part I was pretty under control. I would be beside myself when I'd worked out so hard and would gain, although I would chop it up to muscle gain (with a six foot one frame, I have more muscle than the average woman anyway), but I would still feel frustrated because it was the loss of pounds I was looking for. Anyway, I had my surgery March 28th of this year and so far I've lost 42 pounds. I think you, like so many of us who worked their butts off before getting the surgery, will be a great success story. Again, good luck to you and I hope for you all the success and triumphs that you can't even imagine :-)

The night before my surgery, after the cut off time for eating/drinking, I got this big craving for french fries, I swear I could smell them! The next morning I woke up and while getting ready to head to the hospital, I got this over whelming craving for a cinnamon roll! I hadn't even thought about trying to eat those things in months. I told myself if I still wanted them in 6 months, I could have a bit. The thought of a cinnamon roll now makes me want to hurl! Good luck with your surgery

Great title! I'm a professional writer so I always can appreciater "a few good words."
Guys are so weird so I can only advise 2 things: 1) Stop playing games and call him, or 2) Ditch the tender immature ego and find a real man who is mature.
Course, what do I know. Never been married. I finally feel I know enough now to act like a grown up in a relationship. Maybe after I drop couple hundred pounds and have a makeover, I'll start looking again.

On the pre-op dieting? GOOD FOR YOU!! I am doing the same thing. I figure that I am going to be the boss of me and I am going to make my decisions instead of the surgeon. If I cut the crap now, then I made a choice instead of having the choice made for me when the surgery is over. I think you are right on and I can't wait to hear of your progress.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I feel surprisingly better today. I still have a little anxious tugging feeling in my heart now and again, but after a good nights sleep (he still didnt show up or call or even text) I feel like I am seeing things more clearly. I am too old for this crap and I have a wonderful baby to think about. I wouldnt take this nonscense from my ex husband, I wont take it from Justin. You guys are right...
15 more days until my flight - pre-op diet starts tomorrow (just have to tweak what I am doing now)... so lots to focus on.

I had a few things too... but I put them on a list, and I ate them one day after another (one day was a pizza burger, the next day sausage gravy and biscuits, chocloate in the afternoon... etc). Packing it all in was a sure fire way of making me feel like crap and getting me ready to start gearing down for the pre op diet.
I chose to phase my foods out. The first week was junk food and coffee (TOUGH WEEK), the next week was complex carbs, this week I am dropping fat and eating even less, and starting friday my actual pre-op two shakes and a low carb dinner....(fish or chicken and either green beans, mushrooms or cauliflower).
Just remember, food is NOT going to leave the planet. We just have to learn like babies how to eat all over again, and once you hit goal, of course you can have a taste or a nibble of your favorites now and again... its what its all about right? Everything in moderation... with our new skinny stomachs and matching lean bodies!!

hi jillian, i'm sorry to hear what a bad time youve had personally, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, you are going for this amazing surgery and it will give you much more self confidence. I am only 3 weeks out, but already feeling more attractive and better about myself. I am also a woman who has delt with infidelity and I know how bad that is on your self esteem. But remember they become x's for a reason!! I am now happily married and have been for 5 years (he was also cheated on) life gets better and with the new you around the corner there will be no stopping you healing that heart!!
    best of luck rachel.

Oh Dear!!! You concentrate on yourself and your son - that's all that matters! Men can be more trouble than they are worth. You are young and about to start a new life - forget men for a few years and get yourself together. When you are at peace with yourself this time in your life will seem trivial. Hang in there!!!

You've done the right thing by asking him to pick up his things. It's time for you to concentrate on yourself and your wonderful son. Life's too short to waste time being with someone who doesn't make you feel good. And I mean it -- love is supposed to feel GOOD! And.... you want your son to know that you are a strong, happy, healthy woman. You're doing the right thing.
It's natural to be sad when a relationship ends... but you've got quite an adventure coming up that will help distract you!
I send good thoughts your way. We're all pulling for you!
    Onward!!

It's funny how life turns out though always when a door closes, a window will open and just around the corner is your Prince Charming. Take care and know that us on line friends are only a click away.... Out here in cyber space I will be thinking of you and your little boy. I hope that you find true happiness. Take care, chin up and soldier on xx

I am so sorry....my heart hurts for you. You did the right thing and count this as a blessing. It may not feel like a blessing but God just did you a huge favor. Now it's time to focus on the amazing future ahead....with you leading the charge. Remember that courage is found when times are tough. You have courage.

I hear and feel you girl! I have all those fears too, but I take heart in the fact that when I was on the bernstien diet (VLCD with virtually no carb and no fat) I lost all of my cravings for food to the point where I had to set an alarm to remind myself to eat. My desire was just not there... and the motivation of the moving scale was phenominal... what wasnt was the price tag of $600.00 a month. You can do this.. .we will all be victorious!!
