Must Read for Psych Evaul
damit. I think my psych eval went great until she asked if I was inpulsive. I "pride" myself in being spontaneous and I think I misunderstood her question because that was the only time she raised her brow during the evalutation. I think i screwed myself. She was like, "What do you mean, your impulsive, give me an example..." so I told her that I went to the car dealer and traded in my car for an older model. Obviously I know that it wasn't something I did without thinking about prior, as a matter of fact I had been eyeballing new cars for a few months and finally one day I spontaneously went to the car dealer and got a new car... idk if that makes sense... ughhh I just hope I get my clearance.

Pre-op Diet & Cheating!
- Isopure
How long are you supposed to drink it for? Mine is only 3 days... The isopure mix is sooooo good! In love with Dutch chocolate! Sent from my iPhone- What do you tell the haters?
- Insomnia?
Have any of you felt with insomnia during your pre op phase? I haven't been able to sleep for weeks.... Sent from my iPhone- medicaid while married?!?!?!
This is so annoying how people have to make you feel the need to tell them all your business, you really shouldn't even have to justify anything to these people. Sent from my iPhone- Procrastination effed me up. VENTING.
Annoyied. I've finished all my Options classes through Kaiser but I lagged on doing my Psych evaluation. If it were done prior to finishing my pre-op classes I probably would already have my final meeting with the Surgeon and a step away from getting my surgery date. This is just going to push everything further out. I'm scared because I've only lost 5 pounds during my pre-op weight loss classes and I don't want to gain those back since now I'm basically on my own without support from my classmates. It sucks. It's so damn easy to put on the weight but so hard to loose. =(- medicaid while married?!?!?!
Funny how people get off topic so quick. Just answer the damn question. SMH- KAISER
I'm going to Kaiser WLA for surgery too, although I did the pre-op Options classes at the Panorama City Facility not at WLA. Any facility in the Los Angeles County would have to do a 12 week Options program that's kind of a weight loss program prior to having surgery. Each class will be with either a nutritionist or a behaviorist and they'll give you tons of information. During those 12 weeks you'll have to loose some weight, usually 10% and they have you do food/exercise/water intake logs. They'll also have you do a bunch of labs. During the 12 weeks you also see the bariatric MD a few times for progress checks. After the 12 weeks, if you completed all the program requirements (turned in all food logs, labs, EKG, chest xray and some have to do a psych evaluation) then you get referred to the surgeon at WLA. Once you see the surgeon, he makes sure you've lost enough weight and if you have he should give you the actual surgery referral. I finished my Options classes last week, but I lagged on my psych evaluation and those appointments are hard to get so I need to do that before I meet the surgeon. I'm hoping to see the surgeon late August and have my surgery date for September!!! HOPEFULLY!- medicaid while married?!?!?!
Not sure, but like the first person who commented, I don't think you would need his "approval" before hand. Also due to patient privacy the insurance carrier wouldn't be allowed to ask him or tell him anything regarding your doctors visits or your medical chart. Just make sure to do all the labs and or classes that they require of you! Good luck! Sent from my iPhone- medicaid while married?!?!?!
- Anyone not have saggy skin?
I'm exactly the same, 25 with 3 kids and had them all by c-section. I've only been this heavy for about 4-5 yrs so I'm hoping that my elasticity is still good fingers crossed! I anticipate my tummy area to be saggy because of the c section but I'm hoping everywhere else goes back to normal. Sent from my iPhone- Pre op liquid diet
That sounds really good!! I'm going to try that!- Effects of Protein Shakes
Oooh great idea! Sent from my iPhone- Pre op liquid diet
- Pre op liquid diet

- EKG--Consider yourself Lucky
Hopefully they don't find anything else & you could move forward with surgery Sent from my iPhone- Had my first appointment today..
Wow, that sucks that you work for Cigna and you have to pay so much... Sent from my iPhone- Pre op liquid diet
Hi, I was wondering how much weight you all lost during your liquid pre op diet? My insurance does not require one but they do require me to loose about 15 pounds and I've only lost 5. I have an upcoming appointment with the surgeon in a month & thought that I could do a liquid diet 2 weeks prior to that appt to hopefully shed the last 10 pounds... Any thoughts or recommendations? I've been trying my best to eat healthier and use myfitnrsspal and I walk/hike at least 2-3 times per week. But it seems like I'm just maintaining my current weight, I'll loose a pound then the following week gain the same pound back.... It's frustrating. I just bought me the Isopure powder Protein. Sent from my iPhone- Excess skin postop
I'm hoping since we're young our skin will have enough elasticity and will return to "normal"... I've had 3 c-sections so I know where my problme area will be but I'm hoping my back fat, arms and legs will return to normal.- Downey/Bellfower Kaiser...New to group wanted to say hello!
Hey! I'm going through the Pan City Options class, my final class is next week, I'm really excited. Don't worry, the classes are going to go by so quick! The only think I'm stressing over is getting the actual referral for the surgery once I see the surgeon. I'm praying that I get it. I've lost about 5 pounds during the last 11 weeks and I'm hoping to loose another 5 before I see the surgon. Gonna do a fast or cleanse or whatever to drop some pounds so I can get my referral! Where are you planning on doing your surgery?- Any So Cal Kaiser People?
Just wanted to say heyy... I'm doing my Options class in Pan City and will be having my surgery at West L.A. **FINGERS CROSSED THE ACTUAL SURGERY REFERRAL PROCESS GOES SMOOTH*** My final Options class is next week!!! I've done all of my labs and tomorrow I have a psych evaluation. I can't wait to finish and get my damn referral to see the surgeon! - Isopure
