So I know that after the surgery all they tell you to do is walk, walk, walk.... I get it. Now I'm one week out and want to know how soon I can actually hit the gym and the elliptical and burn some real calories? I know I can't over do it and have to take it slow, but at say two weeks out, is a brisk 45 minute walk too much? Or 30 minutes on an elliptical? Right now when I'm just doing the light walking I feel like I'm not working hard enough.... Thoughts?

You're a 30 BMI and you want to get sleeved???? Why?? That shouldn't even be allowed. Also' date=' my surgeon MADE me go on a month long liquid ONLY diet before surgery. I lost 49 lbs in those 28 days. I am glad that he did it and believe that every sleever should do a month long liquid diet, it really gives you an idea what you're in store for. These 24 hour pre op diets are also rediculous and shouldn't be allowed.[/quote']
Not every doctor is the same, nor every patient. In fact, I've never heard of a MONTH long pre op diet... Two weeks max is what I've heard is common, however mine was only one week..... Each case will be different, so one isn't "better" than the other.... Just sayin

Aweful! I was so happy when I got it out. I think mine too' date=' was hitting a nerve becacuse I had awful pains that disappeared when it was take out. Now I just get creeped out by the gaping whole that is there from it. That is slowly closing though.[/quote']Thankfully mine comes out tomorrow... But do they stitch the hole up or glue it? I'm totally squeamish and dreading it coming out... Was it painful?

So I'm 6 days out and all is fine and dandy EXCEPT for my JP drain....the stitches poke when I move certain ways, I can only sleep on my back(so I don't sleep through the night) and I can't leave the house because this thing doesn't hide well.... Is anyone else hating their drain?!
Most people I heard didnt even have one, so why do some doctors choose to use one while others don't?
Phew... I just needed to get that off my chest!

Oh egg drop Soup is my favorite. I love making my own. Is the egg considered puréed?? Or did you have to put it through the blender??I don't really think its considered puréed .... The egg pieces aren't too big, I just made sure I chewed the hell outta those pieces before I swallowed, and all was good!

I can't wait until I can have some refried Beans with a little salsa and melted cheese. That sounds so very good right now. I think my doc wants me to wait another week before I try those' date=' though...[/quote']Refried Beans and salsa is what I've been craving! And I'm only a week out so I've got about 2 more weeks for that... My surgeon basically said anything that will go through a straw( but don't use a straw!) I had yummy egg drop Soup, and cream of wheat and bananas blended with my protien shake... I can't just live of the shakes though....
