    Tuesday Night Madness

Okay, I've got my Citrus Blend Aquafina Flavor Splash. # 5 bottle of Water for the day, yay me! I'm tempted to go brew a cup of java bliss...but it's after 11pm here and the rest of the family is knocked out. Whew! I'm exhausted! When LBT is hoppin' like it has been, it's such a distraction! Usually, I'm on and off all day in between loads of laundry and dishes. No biggie. Now, I'm just tired, but glad to be here. I love LBT. Please pass the cheese!

    Cheese killing...

It was ME! I did that...I went to the Thread Killers thread and asked for reinforcements to kill the thread. My thinking, at the time, was that few were understanding the intent of the Rant (which I got), and all kinds of heated posts were popping up due to the misunderstanding. Then NurseKathy made it right and the thread has been great since. My point is, I shouldn't have egged that on, I wish I hadn't, and I apologized and offered to delete my posts because Thread Killing wasn't in order. It doesn't always work, and Thread Killing can get out of hand as much as Rants and Raves can. I learned something that day, that a post or two of cheese talk diffuses much more nicely than 2 pages of cheese talk. And that I shouldn't stir pots. I generally don't. Sure wish I could go back. So, I think I have fallen onto the other side of the Cheesy Thread Killing. It WAS funny, but then it got NOT funny. Especially today. Oh well. I'm sorry again. What a day on LBT. I'll be happy to sleep on it tonight. Maybe tomorrow won't be so dramatic. But you know I'll be logging on first thing to find out...LOL

    Question about Moderators

I want Penni to stay as Mod because I want her to go over to the Before/After thread and clean out old comments! LOL That old Bigchix stuff is over-rated. Yup, Penni shouldn't have done it. She knows it. She didn't handle it the way she should have. How it gets handled from here isn't up to me. Thanks for clearing the air, though, Penni. I know it will work out fine.

    Question about Moderators

I, for one, am glad to know that BigChixRules was a hoax. I have been worried about that poor, wretched, lost, banded soul for well over a year. She never came back to let us know how she was doing, having so much trouble with Beans and all. I was so concerned about her! Then mad when I realized she might not be real...and it's been hanging over my head ever since. What if she WAS real? Who, in their right mind, would need to play games like that? It was beyond my scope of comprehension at the time. Since then, I have come to know better. So, thanks, Lisa, for solving the mystery that I thought would never be solved. Whew. I feel better! Now, why the hell didn't you PM me about that a long time ago?! Lisa, you know I love you to death, but you have a dangerous way about you. Like a tornado, or a train wreck. It's easy to get wrapped up in whatever you got brewing. It seems like innocent fun, but can turn so nasty so easily. I hate that. It makes me keep you at arm's length. As for Penni, I can't say for sure if what you posted is true. I have no reason not to believe you, because I can see how easy it is to get in over your head when DeLarla is "on the loose". It's so much fun at the time. I'd imagine there's a bit of regret. You are magnetic. But in the end, I'm the one responsible for my own behavior, and so is Penni, so are all of us. I hope all this gets figured out. We all need LBT, and I don't want anyone banned, even you, because you can be so much fun. But there's so much Water under the bridge now, I'd like to think you'd WANT to find another playground...oh, you have one! Slumber Parties is much more lucrative than time wasted on LBT making a point that doesn't really matter in the big scope of things. There, I said it. I wasn't intending to reply to anything fitter posted, but I get on this morning and here you are...so here I am. Take Care.
  5. Cheetos. Holy Crap. How can something so nutritionally pointless be so yummy and easy to eat?! Damn cheetos.

    Throwing in the towel

I feel like I have fought for every pound, as well. Except for the first 15, that weight just fell off. My "technique" has been to be sure not to be too tight. I can eat well, properly, normally, with a band that isn't too tight. My band has been too tight lately. It started a week and a half ago at that TOM. It hasn't let up, for some reason. I have struggled with getting stuck and even PBd the other day. I have been keeping my diet mushy and drinking aloe vera juice to get myself out of the swollen cycle...I'm ready to eat normally. I find myself hungry and nibbling easy foods. It's a battle, for sure, but one that I expected, to a degree. 165 is my mark. If I can get there and maintain, my money will have been well spent. The next 20 after that is gravy for me, but I'll do it. Just slowly, to be sure! Strawarts, will you revise to the VG? Or are you ging to sweat it out with the band (sans exercise, that is!)

Congrats Karen! We finally got an offer on the spec house. Should be under contract today or tomorrow. Feels good! Wavy...yes, you can drink too fast. It can hurt, or it can just feel like pressure and a burp or hiccup makes it go down and you feel better. These are the signals you need to learn. Your band is saying "whoa! go easy on me!" so take smaller sips. It's interesting, huh?

    Throwing in the towel

I can answer this for myself, and I know it's an honest question, not a smark-alecky one, so here's my answer. With the band, it's actually possible for me to stick to something like Nutrisystems for more than a day. Or a week, or a month at that. I'm actually satisfied with diet portioned foods. Now, when I hit goal, some sweet day, I fully expect to need to watch my intake (food quality). Thing is, it's hard for me to eat 1500 nutritious calories a day banded. I can eat 2500 calories of crap banded, though. cheese is way high in fat. Junk food is evil, and noone, banded or unbanded, can eat 1800-2000 calories a day of junk food and maintain any weight loss. That I know of, anyway. I don't think of using another tool (Nutrisystems) as failing with the band. it's doing what it takes to get to goal. I also have some opinions about what to do when getting to goal, and it's spelled out pretty nicely in my Curves Handbook. Phase 3. You never gain more than you can lose in 2-3 days of "dieting". For most folks that's 3-4 pounds. Say my "low weight" is 143. When I get there, I eat like I want to until I get to 147, then I "diet" till I lose it again. Then eat again till I get to 147, then diet again. After months of this (and it takes weighing daily and keeping a chart) I should only be "dieting" a few days out of each month in order to maintain my loss. All this is speculation for me at this stage of the game, but it seems to work with my plateaus. Anyhow, unbanded, Nutrisystems is a waste of money. I'd love to do it banded for a few months. I'll bet it helps alot! Good luck!

    calling collage people

I somehow managed to make it through college and got a BS in Communications and Public Address, minor in English. So I can officially talk out loud, in English, to other people and I have a degree to prove it. My best advice is don't skip class. Show up. Take notes. Study a little bit every day. Turn in your homework. Good luck, Nana!

    Blood donation

Wow, just when you think you couldn't get a new question...I hadn't thought of this! Personally, I'd postpone the blood donation. No facts or medical background...just an opinion based on my gut. I'm interested in the other replies!

    Question about Moderators

Good questions! I don't know if my answers are correct, but here's what I think I know. Mods are unpaid volunteers and can leave at any time. I'd like to think if a Mod were going to stop moderating, they'd say so and another Mod will replace. I think Mr. Alex decides how many we need. I think they decide together about how to handle a situation. I'm not sure about Moderator Rules and Guidelines? I'm also pretty sure that Mods can see who you have PMd but cannot read the PMs. ???

    What's in your Ipod? MP3?

Okay, Paula...Jack...Paul (you dork, LOL) even I have an MP3 player now. My sister gave me hers. I'll have to start another thread for advice on how to make the most of it...I'm still tinkering with it. Paula, I have copied songs from CDs onto it. Pretty cool! Here's what I have so far. Amy Grant Sing Your Praise to The Lord In a Little While Wynonna Heaven Help My Heart She Is His Only Need Only Love Girls With Guitars Carrie Underwood Wasted Jesus, Take the Wheel The Night Before (Life Goes On) Lessons Learned (she sounds like Jo Dee Messina here, doesn't she?!) We're Young and Beautiful That's it, not really geared toward exercise, just songs I like. My sister ismoving soon, and she'll be dumping her vast CD collection here and I'll get more. Lotsa 70s and 80s Funk, Country. I like this handy dandy little thing, and it's so much easier to strap on when walking!

    Couldn't click threads?

We WERE in time-out! See the warnings by the Mods? Banned! Banned, I say! No wonder time-out works so well with my kids...who hates to miss anything?! I don't like not being able to log on!!! I know the Mods like to take a real hands off approach, but I support nipping the ugliness in the bud. It's really uncalled for and I'm dissappointed in it, for sure. Go Mods! And Thanks!!!

    Potty-Training Boys???

We are doing great here! I still have 1/2 large pack of diapers. Pull ups are gone and I'm not buying more. I told little man when the diapers are gone, no more diapers at night time. I may not wait that long. He's dong great! I Looooove going to the grocery store and NOT buying diapers, wipes, or pull-ups. Yay!

that's exactly what I suspected. Here comes Mr. Alex checking in on his baby over the weekend and finds the ugliness we have seen...I'd force a break too. :heh:
