We've got alot going on with his work...he's opening a business with my BIL, got a spec house on the market with an offer but no contract yet. It will pan out. I gotta do what's best for his schedule and the kids are young and I'm the Mommy...yada yada. Still working out the details but he's not fishing that weekend, so that's clear. Dove hunting? We'll have to bargain that one, LOL! He works his ass off so I can stay home. I'll go easy on him and not complicate things too much :huggie:

mercedes, I agree with seeking professional help. In addition, your "perfectionism" comments made me think of FlyLady. Check out www.flylady,net it's an e-mailing list for taking care of your home. Believe me when I say, it relates. Just sign up and go with the flow as best you can without getting overwhelmed or beating yoruself up. She also has a book called Body Clutter, and you can find it in the FlyShop. Or at Amazon. Maybe at the library. Good stuff. Keep us posted. (((hugs))))

My daughter was ending her Kindergarten career when I was banded in April '05. I "put bugs in her ear" along the way and siad I was going to have an operation to help me not be so fat so I can be healthier. So when the time came, she wasn't worried. Age 5 is not age 9, she's my oldest so I'm not sure what 9yo kids are like, really. I fessed up though, and at her Kindergarten graduation her teachers pounced me, wanting to know the scoop. My daughter told them I had an operation on my tummy to put a band around it. They were so intrigued, LOL. Kids handle things the way you teach them to. If you are frantic, they will be. If you react strongly, so do they. If you are matter-of-fact and honest, they don't worry so much. I'm all about being open, but I'm not a very good closet bandster either. Good luck. Give her at least a few weeks to ask questions, and have faith in her!

Good luck Mari! LindaV answered just what I would have. Keep reading up and you'll get a very good grasp on banded life. This board prepared me well for my surgery and for what to expect living with my band. No regrets. Yay!
