  1. One of my go-to exercises is simply walking with my husband. We typically walk 3 miles and we can chat and catch up on the happenings with the kids and our days. It is pretty easy and I look forward to it each night. Maybe you could find a walking buddy. I also just started the 30 day squat challenge yesterday! Though it seems like its going to be a challenge I can do the squats while watching tv at home. So I guess my advice would be to try and find an exercise buddy and combine that with things that you can easily incorporate into your life. It's working for me so far!

  2. I have been wearing mostly sandals this summer, I noticed them getting looser and looser, in fact my toes now come out the front when I walk. I tried on a pair of size 8 heels and a few other pairs of size 8 shoes that I had and they are all too big. I am now wearing a size 7 :)

  3. I was denied twice. My surgeon faxed an appeal letter and my husband talked to his HR rep at work who then called the insurance rep to see what they could do. I was approved less then a day after the HR rep got involved. I'm not sure who actually got it approved, maybe it was all of them but I was finally approved :)

  4. I was on soft foods after a week, I initially did okay with it but in retrospect I wish I waited another week. One thing I did that really helped me a lot was to take away the "protein pressure" I am about 11 weeks out and I very often will still have 2 Protein Shakes a day which equals 60grams of Protein and snack on yogurt, nuts, Peanut Butter, eggs or deli meat in between. This way I know I am getting the protein I need but I am not force feeding myself food. My understanding is that technically I should be getting my protein from food rather then supplements however my doctor is okay with it because I am doing so well and I am taking food. Just a thought for when you do start eating foods :)

  5. I was honored to be invited to be the matron of honor in my friends wedding. I was pre-op when she asked me and actually I was nervous about it because I didn't have insurance approval yet and I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. Well I had the surgery and 2 weeks later we went to look at dresses. I tried a size 16 and it would only zipper about 1/2 way, knowing I would be losing weight I bought a 14. I am pleased to say that it fit relatively comfortably tonight, I am so beyond excited. I have 8 weeks to the wedding and I'm hoping it will need some alterations but I won't be greedy! This is the best feeling I have had in a very long time :)

  6. You should speak to your surgeon or NUT to see whats going on. I was sleeved on 4/9 and I have lost 44 pounds so you are still doing better then me :) I notice that I tend to lose weight every 3 weeks or so and nothing in between. Based on what I have read and heard mixed with my limited experience I am a believer that if you stick to your plan and meet your Water and Protein goals you will lose the weight. Good luck and please keep us updated!

  7. I have not tried Chinese food since my surgery on 4/9/13. For me its not a big deal as I have never really been a big fan of it. My husband however LOVES Chinese food so we made an agreement that as long as I lost 60 pounds (random number I made up) we could try it 6 months after my surgery. It's good to know that other people have tried it and tolerated it well :)

  8. I was sleeved on 4/9 and I have lost about 40 pounds post op. I notice that I tend to lose weight consistently for like a week or so and then nothing for a week or so. I stopped weighing myself everyday and it certainly makes life easier, especially when I see I'm down pounds not just ounces! I am in a "losing stage" right now but I fully expect in the next few days I will stop for a bit. Follow your plan get in your Protein and Water and you will be just fine :)

  9. Per doctors orders I am limited in any exercise I can do. I found Leslie Sansone (? spelling) walking dvd's and I love them . There are several different ones, I especially like the ones that you can incorporate the bands, they come with them. You really do get a workout which I was surprised by! You can look them up on Amazon and see the lengths of them.
