  1. I'm a year and a half post surgery and I've lost 100lbs since my highest recorded weight. Boobs- I went from a 40 DD to a 36 DD...they are still big but I think since I'm tall I still look in proportion. Definitly they have lost their fullness and roundness but I'm 50 so it was bound to happen I guess I just wear a good bra and continue to exercise hoping that they catch up to the rest of me... Butt - I had a big one, too big so I think it looks better at least in clothes it's alittle droopy but at least it doesn't have ceulite anymore... so thats a positive.
  2. grateful for my good health, being fit, not as flabby as I feared, NO celulite, thin legs, still have big boobs, I'm 10 pounds from goal, 100 lbs lost since my heaviest recorded weight, I'm active, I wore a 2 piece for the first time in almost 20 yrs this summer, almost flat belly, and the most important results... no more high blood pressure, no more border-line suger diabetes, no more shots in my back to stop chronic back pain from herniated disc, My biggest surprise other than my success of finally being successful at weightloss and how well I eat and work at staying alert on my eating habits is that after I lost alot of my hair post surgery... it came back curly!!!which I love. No REGRETS, I am happy with my choice but understand that it is a personal one... and it takes commitment. This is not a sure thing and I respect my little stomach and though... I guess I've changed on the outside I hope that I am still the same on the inside. Thank you for allowing me to brag a bit...I hope others will share their 1 + year out stories too.

  4. I think your doing great. I've lost 70 lbs ( 14 prior to surgery 3/21/13 56 post surgery) I'm in touch w another sleever who had his surgery 2 weeks after me and he's already lost 100lbs but each of us have more or less to lose, diff body types, diff metabolism etc I just stay positive and grateful for the very slow loss I'm still having (about 1lb a wk) We'll all get there w time. Good luck to you and all of us
  5. I love making healthy delicious dinners...but I have to admit sometimes I get dissappointed when I can only eat such a small amt. It tastes so good I want more! I know it's best that I can't and honestly I'm so happy with the results so far...just hoping that with time I'll get used to my little meals and not long for more...
  6. don't be so hard on yourself..but instead remember why you did your sleeve. Be honest with yourself. Are you walking each day, exercising? We know the sleeve is only a tool to get us on the road to a healthy weight and lifestyle. Respect your self ...think when you go to eat "is this worth eatting" Maybe you need to find other hobbies you enjoy that keep you busy and content. Think " am I really hungry" make sure your getting your protien and water each day.I know you can do it...forget about these last few days ... your still 50lbs lighter and YOU CAN get to and stay at your goal! You deserve it have a great, healthy eatting, productive day...even if you take ot one day at a ti,e
  7. I never had a restriction on Coffee, they even gave it to me in the hospital. But, strangly enough I can't seem to drink more then a few sips of it..it just doesn't taste good anymore...I think I've completely lost the desire for it?
  8. I would say yes Im on day 12 and in the hospital they gave me coffee on my 1st day plus my dr allows it on my post diet. I buy fat free cream. Hope it helps your headache if not use liquid tylenol
  9. I was in your shoes 12 days ago..my dr didnt require a liquid diet pre op I was excited and nervous and like you kept thinking "I cant believe this is going to really happen" but I can say that I'm so happy it did ! yes, you'll be up and walking on Fri...and walk as soon as you can. All the very best of luck to you
  10. thoughts and prayers for a safe and fast recovery. good luck !
  11. i'm on day 11 and my dr has a 3 week liquid stage so I still have 10 days to go... I kind of paniced on day 7 thinking I just cant drink one more Shake! but I bought plain whey protien powder and started making soup shakes and now I calmed down I can do it ... but I"ve cheated with a nibble of cheese that I let go to mush and swallowed ...feels good to know we,re not alone
  12. 11 days post op so I may not be the best one to go by but I feel great...I just started exercising and for once I feel hopeful and confident that I really will suceed this time ...so YES
  13. so kwhappyness40 how are you doing on our 11th day? I'm feeling pretty good I went back to work for a 1/2 day with my protien soup and my 2 bottles of water
  14. Oh what a relief to see these posts! I am 10days post op and I feel so good. My dr. wants 3 weeks full liquid...but the list of examples I have are so limited ( water /diet drinks/broth/V8/suger free jello/ s/f popsicle and of course shakes to get at least 45grams of protien a day..there is no soup , cottage cheese etc listed:( just the clear liquid things!).Well I've never been a big sweet eatter and after 9 days of strawberry/choc/vanilla shakes 2-3 x a day as my main meal I started to panic. But today I had some cream of chicken soup that I thinned with water and added a scoop of protien powder to replace a shake...I felt guilty for eatting the soup since it wasn't on my list) Now I feel so much better and I relieved. I'm going to continue having soup here and there and I'll call my dr/nut and double check this week that it's ok.
  15. hi kwhappyness40 I'm also on my 5th day...I haven't had any hunger so I've only had liquids and don't know about the cracker. But I wanted to wish you luck !
  16. thankfully I dont have the period issue but this aftermoon I started w/ diarrea...it's why I popped on tonight...hoping to get some reassurance that it's temporary ( I'm on my 5th day after my sleeve surgery) and I'll gratefully take any suggestions! P.S. If by chance your periods don't lighten back up and if your done having children look into uterus ablation once all healed from your sleeve... it makes your period almost nonexistant. good luck and thanks for being so honest and bringing up a subject many of us needed to discuss
  17. I feel very good. In fact I'm surprised how well I feel on my 5th day. The worst part for me was I was soooo thirsty when I came out of recovery. But I was given a cup of ice w a little sponge on a stick...that was a big help. But my first sip of water (the next morning) was heaven I still have trapped gas pain but walking is the best relief...its also hard to get all the 64oz of fluid in the day but I'm close and I sip sip sip more each day. I have no hunger at all.
  18. so happy I found this website ! I had my sleeve surgery on Thurs. (3/21/13) and really wanted to talk to some people who are on this journey. I am 49 but we are the same ht and start weight ...when I read your story it really hit home. I was always a big girl but healthy and active ...but then I faced realty that I had become unhealthy with assorted issues and exactly as you I just need this tool to get a large part of this weight off so I can truly be the active healthy woman I know is still in there. Good luck to you and to all of us!
