  1. When you can get away with spending $299 on botox versus $700 like I have spent in the past? My answer is YES. By the way...you should also look into Botox in your armpits. I have had it done for the past two years for excessive sweating and it has been a saving grace. No more ruining shirts
  2. my girlfriend drinks wine quite often and she is 6 months out. Just be aware that you will get loopy faster she said. I know someone who is 11 weeks out and she will not risk it for a few more months since alcohol is an irritant
  3. My fill dr in Olympia, WA told me last week that the Sleeve has been performed for nearly 8 years, which means they are just two years away from the 10-year reports. However, he also stated that the Sleeve is proving to the US medical community to be 80% effective in Permanent weight loss. From what I have seen on the boards and in all my research the past three months, the MX doctors have the corner on the success ratio. I think it is because they have done more of them and have mastered the learning curve. I for one am counting down the days until I can begin my journey
  4. Nothing says "screw you" to an ex-boyfriend better than a hot, smokin' body and a pair of short-shorts. Keep up the great work!
  5. My dermatologist in the states Dr Kim here in Tacoma would disagree with you on that.
  6. I have had my teeth whitened in TJ. You will spend 1/3 of the cost. Here in the states I was quoted $550. In TJ at Dent-Art I paid about $150 They will pick you up in their shuttle and drive you to their facility. I would definitely use them again. For botox and fillers, my girlfriend who lives in San Diego has used both Dr Juan Carlos Fuentes and Dr Ariel Ortiz at the Obesity Control Center. I have no clue what she pays, but she loves the results
  7. you are a beautiful woman. Congrats, you must feel wonderful being in control of this journey. I am 2 1/2 weeks away and just very ready to get started.
  8. yea, I am leaning towards that direction myself
  9. Liz ? Are you blazing back out of town on the 13th when we are released? I was thinking of staying that Monday night, but know I will be happier to sleep in my own bed, so I am thinking of flying home Monday afternoon.
  10. good question. I would assume that my luggage and items will be in my hospital room waiting for me
  11. Hi! I hope you don't mind my question about the whole pajama thing. I have pajama bottoms, but really not wanting to stain them or destroy them from any Post-op draining, etc since you were saying that you went to the thrift store I thought that was such a clever idea. Does everyone recommend doing PJ bottoms and a raggedy Tshirt?? or do you recommend the MuMu style pajamas?
  12. Isn't that horrible?? I had someone do that to me two years ago. I nearly crumpled and sobbed. I was horrified. But then, so was she after I said "no, I am just fat"
  13. My Fill Dr has offered to assist if needed. He was a real debbie downer about my decision and going to Mexico. He informed me "you haven't worked your lapband hard enough". *shaking head* Not sure if I want to be around anybody negative to be honest. My PCP will do just fine I am sure
  14. I did this after both of my C-Sections and it helped me immensely. I was actually considering bringing one with me just in case.
  15. no. I have a Samsung Galaxy. We can always skype. However, I would have to get an account set up. I think we would all be doing so much better with our nerves if we could talk real time (well, at least I would feel better )
  16. IF it is any consolation, I did it last weekend and then had to pop a Xanax. I am still a nervous wreck, but have decided to listen and read EVERYTHING the 98% has to say. They are a powerful force to be reckoned with on this forum. Go back to reading some good things and you will feel alot better.
  17. Am I the only one who needs to be on Xanax for my nerves? everyday I go between being very excited for this opportunity and going into the corner, curling into a ball and sobbing. I am really not liking myself the past two days.
  18. stefani - I had my lapband completely unfilled today. All 3.3cc removed from the 4.0cc band in preparation for next month. Sadly, as usual, I had zip for restriction. it is weird because even with a little bit of fill I always had this feeling of a clenched fist in my throat...that has been gone for four hours now. Strange. I am just wondering what the average amount of adhesions there really are on anyone who has had a band removed. Not the 'problem' bands, but bands like what we have had. No issues, no slips, etc.
  19. So I just had my fill Dr here completely unfill my lapband today. Total of 3.3cc taken out of a 4.0cc band. Did not feel like I had any restriction at all. He began lecturing me that "you have not worked your lapband hard enough" LOL. OH...OKAY Mr Doctor who makes $375 on every fill that does not work. After five years of fighting with my band and putting all the weight back on, I will make sure and remember that a year from now.
  20. I saved this article from yesterday as I have had this happen. 30 minutes in TJ without realizing I had not turned off my data package. $200 later. I could have bought a great pair of shoes in 30 minutes. http://seattletimes.com/html/travel/2020784714_internationalphonechargesxml.html
  21. Thank you so much for the info. He is my Dr of choice for many reasons and I feel better hearing stuff like this!
  22. I am not doing the spider. Not because of cost, but primarily because from my lapband surgery, you cannot even see the incisions that were there after a year. It is just not important to me, but totally understand everyone else wanting to do it.
  23. let me know when it is up and running. Not going to hand out my email and I am not searchable on FB due to my IT job. so someone will have to work with me on this.
  24. YAY! someone else I can take a xanax with. LOL. Dr Garcia approved me yesterday. deposit is down. Surgery May 10th also DB are you staying at the marriott as well?
