FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Winningbylosing: My sleeve sister! you are doing GREAT! I am in awe of your fitness achievements! Everyone loses at different rates and who cares as long as you are healthy and happy! Don't fret about the bra fitting. If you are built larger in the upper body it may be you have some loose skin there. I'm build wide across the butt and have big hips and thighs. I doubt I'll ever be happy with that part of my body in terms of appearance but I am forever grateful for my health and the new lease on life that my sleeve has given me.

St. Patrick's Day Challenge
Mornin Bea and everyone! Today is my 1year surgiversairy or as I like to call it, my 1st re-birthday! So I'm weighing in today rather than Monday. This morning's weight is 225.2! I worked hard this week to get my weight loss moving again and it payed off. I am .2 shy of my goal for this challenge and .2 shy of having lost 100 lbs since the beginning of this journey. So I want to adjust my goal for the challenge to 220. I am going to continue weighing in on Fridays cuz it just works better for me. Thanks Bea for doing this!

Jogging/running advice needed
I didn't start trying to run/jog until very recently. My pre-op weight was 325 and this morning I'm 227.4 (yea!). For myself, my knees couldn't handle any impact either on a treadmill or on the street until I got down to about 235. If it makes your knees hurt I think you should stick with walking and elliptical or a bicycle until you've lost more weight. You could give it a try again every 10lbs or so to see how your body responds. I can't remember the exact ratio but my knee Doc said something like every 10lbs lost of excess body weight is like taking 50lbs of pressure off your knees.

Jogging/running advice needed
Awesome advice everyone! Thank you much! I work part-time at a gym so I've bern talking to one of the trainers about it. He also said I need to get the right shoes and we stretched using a foam roller today. That was AWESOME!

Jogging/running advice needed
So I've begun to incorporate a bit of jogging into my walking and I feel like a galumphing fool. I'm slightly knock-kneed and pigeon-toed (really hot, right?) and I want to kick things up a notch. I'm trying to start with short intervals of jogging while walking on the treadmill or outside. I'm a bit concerned I might hurt myself. I've had knee problems for so long I never thought that I would ever try jogging but now that I'm so much lighter it doesn't seem to bother my knees but my hamstrings get a bit sore. Are there any websites some of you runners can point me to that can help me with better form or pre and post stretching etc.? Thanks!

How many sizes have you dropped?!?
I've enjoyed reading this tread! Congrats to everyone for such great work and results! In January of 2013 at 325 lbs I was squeezing into a size 24W and now 95lbs lighter I wear a 16W pants and an L or XL on top. I only want to lose another 10 lbs (I'm very tall 6' 1& 3/4") so I don't think I'll get much smaller. The Bra size was 44 GG (as in GOOD GOOD your boobs are so big!). LOL! Now I'm wearing 38 G but I may need to go down a cup size. The girls have deflated quite a bit!

wheat flour?
I use whole wheat flour to make pancakes. I also have a recipe that doesn't use any flour but uses oatmeal. You can take any pancake recipe and swap whole wheat flour for the white flour. Add some greek yogurt to the milk and that ups the Protein. As long as the ratio of 1 cup dry and 1 cup wet ingredients stays the same it usually works. Here's the Oatmeal Pancake recipe Combine in a blender 1/2 C liquid egg whites 1/2 C Quick cooking oatmeal 1/4 C part skim ricotta cheese 1/2 Tsp baking soda 3/4 tsp baking powder 2 packets Splenda 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla Let it sit a bit once you've blended it all together. Cook on a griddle on low heat. Makes 4 small pancakes.
