Well I was just denied for the sleeve yesterday I'm gonna go through the speaking process in June please send prayers

I don't understand why the heck Aetna is doing this and being SO difficult ! My surgeon actually said he has never seen something so ridiculous before in his career dealing with insurance companies its the first time he's seen this happen Im like GO FIGURE!!! My luck! So now I have to get as many doc letters as I can.... Perezjewels what was the reason for denial??? What did you do and how long ago was this!?!

My mom is working it out as we speak so fingers crossed! And I have the BEST Aetna coverage of all the plans and its a $25,000 surgery and we only pay $800-$1000 out of pocket. Thanks everyone! In trying to stay hopeful and positive

Thanks soul :-/ I think something got screwed up because I did everything on the list and the hospital said they received all documents and submitted but according to my insurance I didn't!?? It's mind boggling I don't get it? We're gonna get to the bottom of it .. So aggravating !! Just more freaking hoops to jump through, I'm sure they hope I accept the denial and leave it at that but heck no there will be blood were fighting this! And if it wasn't meant I'm just gonna have to accept that it wasn't gods plan and well idk what I'm going to do uhg

Excuse me Naroby80 if you want to be rude and make comments like that then get off of my forum this is for support not arrogant responds. And I DID submit all my information LIKE I SAID if you read^ my insurance said they didn't have the supporting documents. So again, don't rub me the wrong way I am in no mood for your rude remarks at a time like this! And for everyone else we are going to appeal it tomorrow, we think the surgeons office missed a document and we will get to the bottom of it tomorrow thanks for all your support, It's appreciated all my VSG loves. Ill keep everyone in touch.

They said I haven't been obese for more then two years which is BULL I've never in my life been under 240-278 for the past 6 years ad they said I never completed a 6 month diet dietician thing when the insurance coordinator for Aetna gave me a 3 month diet dietician thing with physicals and clearance from doctors and psychiatrists I did everything they told me to and they are saying I didn't I'm SO mad I'm at a loss for words

Yeah I did everything.. I knew in my heart I would get it then got denied today after months of dietician , doctor apts and wasted money .. Mom said insurance companies are getting more strict due to Obama care.. We're gonna try and fight it but who knows what will happen ..this was suppose to change my life , now idk of ill ever get the chance to be healthy

They see one they've seen them all!!!.I work health care and trust me if you are worried about that us as health care professionals think nothing of it, not like your gonna see them again thats what I tell myself when i go through the TSA LMAO..I could care less if they see me naked...ha I feel bad for them ...lol but no really in all honestly usually they want you completely naked underneath your gown and just like that guy said up there ^^ anesthesia will take care of any modesty issues lol!

HEARTBREAKING. We often forget how truly lucky and blessed we are and take everything for granted. SO sad, i do home care with no tv so I had no clue of this tornado till I just got home and turned on CNN When is all of this destruction going to end sending prayers. thank god your family is safe <3

Hello my curvaceous ladies! So I have a question and would like to get some feed back! Currently, Im pre op VSG and Im hoping on having it in june/july. I am taking the pill and I have to be off of it a month prior to surgery and a month after surgery so I dont form a blood clot because of surgery. My fear is that when I get back on the evil pill I will gain weight..UHG. I have PCOS as some of you may know and my girly parts are bi polar and coo coo for coco puffs! With out the pill I may not even have a period or Ill have 2 in the month, HORRIBLE migranes etc, Its bad! Kinda my number one reason to get this surgery to hopefully get my PCOS to go away or at least improve. Now what Im really getting at is how do you guys feel about the IUD? i HEARD ITS KILLER GETTING INSERTED if you havent had kids ( ouch thats me) so im not looking forward to that, but do you guys think I should get it? Should I continue to lose weight after surgery and then get it once I think my periods are getting normal? Does an IUD put out hormones, do you technically still have your period each month? do you gain weight with it like the EVIL DEPO shot ( worst decision of my life lol) and the pill? whats some pro's and con's that you ladies like about it? Thanks gals! and feel free to add anything about the two (iud vs pill) in regards to after vsg surgery that i havent mentioned. Would love all the feedback I can get before I really make a decision! <3

I have PCOS and was actually wondering this same question!! I even talked to my mom about it today! ITS HELL. Im pre OP and just this week EVEN ON BIRTH CONTROL I was almost a week late ( about gave me a heart attack) I just dont know when its gonna end uhg! I was curious too if it would even itself out or if i should stop taking my pills and get an IUD put in so I wont gain weight with the pills even more after surgery. Hope you find your answer! Im curious too!

nope just forums, its not set up like facebook to where your friends have a wall to post...it does alert you when someone whose friends with you changes their status, but no group chats besides the instant messagener at the bottom of the screen

So I just started doing yoga for the first time tonight. Not the easiest cause I'm 277 lbs BUT it was very relaxing and I felt so refreshed:) I struggled with some things but I know with time everything will come together:: practice makes perfect:: just wanted to know if any of my fellow sleevers has any advice or links to videos so I can practice ! Also, meditation videos. It would be greatly appreciated!

Niquj- I hear ya girl I've been in the same boat it's horrible. I felt alone , I've only had one other friend who's had it so no one vet could truly understand what I'm going through till I found this site. I'm the same way with not being able to have kids.. I'm praying this surgery will work for when I'm ready to have kids. I've been recently dealing with needle like pokes and pains in my ovaries probably 3-5 stabbing pains a day due to my cysts rupturing it sucks. Just thankful I'm not hurtled over in the fetal position in agonizing pain like a few months ago uhg its just getting worse! But man I can't wait to get that approval (should know this week!!!!!) and get this problem under control for once!!!! Feel free to add me if you wanna be friends I can't on my phone

Oh yeah I totally will! And in all honesty I will probably just walk it anyways, probably be best for me , next year ill jog it My friend who might be going with me had double knee surgery years back and cant run so its the perfect excuse for us to walk it, hey itll take us longer to finish so we will have more time to take it all in and enjoy it!

Hey everyone!!!! So Ive been debating on weather or not I should walk/jog the 5k color run this year! Its coming to Michigan, and although I wish I had more time to train the only one available is for july. Im aiming for surgery in june so I know I probably wont be up to running but regardless Ive always wanted to do this and why not start my weight loss journey off this way! For all of you who dont know what the color run is its the happiest 5k on the planet:) you wear all white, dress goofy and get doused in color powder as you run. By the time your done you look like a rainbow! Do you guys think I should do it? Especially if I just walk. My goal is to run it by next year! NEVER thought I would say I would want to run a marathon IN MY LIFE until now! What a healthy and fun way to do so though Heres a YOUTUBE link to the color run so you guys can see how awesome it is!
