  1. For whoever said whatever about having 80 lbs or less to lose... You must be talking about me!!! This is all I have to say to ya... "They see me rollin'... They hatin'..." Hahahaha love all the support and I didn't even hear you... This is positive and I'm gonna take over the world and WORK HARD all the way there!!

  2. For those on the third week stall... Your body is catching up to the massive change. Also look at everything entering your body and log your food in MFP. Also stay on your eating schedule like you are taking meds. I set reminders in my phone because I forget haha also get outside and start walking... I'm happy to report I am so in 1-derland this morning... 197.5 Can I get a HELL YEAH!?!?!? So 28.5 lbs so far... I think I just got over the stall but didn't weigh myself the whole third week... Just didn't see the point knowing the stall was going to happen, ya know? Also don't be eating more than a 1/4 cup of food at a time... It will be easier to get one more bite in... Don't!! Good luck everyone... Oh and I was sleeved Mar 13th... Ok headed to the lake for a workout and to get some Vitamin D! Holla for a dolla! Haha

  3. Can I have some of what you got? Lol You're my same date sleeve sista! I'm afraid to even look at the scale so I decided not to for a few weeks...like only 1x a month or I know I'll get bummed out. Praise the Lord at your amazing attitude! Keep it up and best of luck in ur continued success!

Hahahaha I love it!!!! Stay in touch! How's it been for you so far?

  4. Ohhhhhhhh yeahhhhh!!! I'm back!!! Wooooot woooot! Ok so an update for those that care... Pain.. Gone! Depression.. Gone! Crazy blah post op crap.. Gone!!! Annnnd to top it off my doc said screw the puréed foods... Approved me for soft foods and said my teeth are natural purée masters hahaha I'm not weighing myself til my next appt Monday... At the two weeks appt I had lost 22 lbs.. (Sleeved March 13th) Still having a wee problem getting the Protein in but I like Cytosport whey isolate in tangerine and watermelon... When I mix half Water Annnnnd loving the crystal lite peach tea... Now on the search for the unflavored nectar... Heard that didn't leave a chalky after-taste and doing research on others ... I'll say this... I know where you are and how you are all feeling being down and out ... It is only temporary!!! Life gets better very soon!!! It's not doomsday forever... We got this! Put one step in front o the other and one day you will look up and realize you just did a marathon! One day very soon you will get off that elevator!!! Breathe! Take it slow and ask for help when you need it... Work itttttttt! I'm so back!! Lets go on a walk... Whew! Ok Focker OUT!

  5. I was sleeved March 13th. Anyone else struggling to get the Protein drinks down? I didn't have a problem with them on the pre-op diet' date=' but I am probably only getting half the amount I'm "supposed" to get in each week. Other than that, doing really good!! Thanks![/quote']

I literally have 16 different types of protein in my fridge... The only thing I've been able to do is get the Cytosport whey isolate and mix half Water the only flavors surprisingly I can tolerate are tangerine and watermelon... So unexpected ... I'm going to seek out an unflavored protein that I can't tell is there to put in my crystal lite peach tea haha any ideas?

  6. Thanks Jody! I don't even miss food yet' date=' I just miss walking and breathing with ease. lol I'm a little worried about going back to work, but I guess you just have to take is as it comes. I'm really understanding the one day at a time concept... or each hour even![/quote']

I definitely can relate... Today just shy of two weeks I'm starting to feel normal... It's night and day... 22 lbs down and now I'm starting to get why I took this plunge... I'm finally getting off the elevator (metaphorically speaking) I started on the lower end of the BMI scale at 36... So with Summer around the corner we will all be super glad we did this in a few months... Good luck !! You got this in the bag!!!

  7. no you won't have to sip forever. when I work out I can drink 32 oz of Water or more in a 2 hour time frame. I am 8 weeks post op and I used to have to sip' date=' sip, sip. Now I don't have to sip...now granted I can't CHUG...and I know what you mean by chugging Water. I miss doing that. It is almost like I don't have the same feeling of satisfaction as when I drink small amounts. but my sips are much larger now.[/quote']

Oh yes!! Ok well it's so hard to not just down it!! Hahaha I ran marathons as a fat girl or thick girl... I was just sleeved on Mar 13 and I fight the urge to not chug it haha I'm not working out yet but that will start back soon... Already down 23 lbs in 2 weeks... But no energy yet so I'm waiting patiently or maybe impatiently... Summer is coming and I intend on enjoying every minute of it!!! Already almost in 1-derland...

  8. I say read all of the material you can get your hands on... Don't just read the good... Read the bad too and then be honest about what you know you will struggle with. The sleeve will not fix our heads... It's only a tool. It's like when my mom had her gastric bypass... She didn't address why she got fat in the first place... So she had to tackle that head on the hard way post op..to avoid drinking too much or going broke. I was just sleeved on mar 13 and in that 6 months pre- op I wanted to rush into it... But glad I had to jump through hoops... Made me take a hard look at my life and how I got here? This is a drastic life change and well lean on your support group... You can do this... It's a mindset... I think this is harder than weight watchers or any of those diets I did... But it forced me to change initially and now I'm laying a foundation for my future success and you will too... But take it one day at a time!!!

  9. Thank you for posting. I can't wait to try these. Heaven sent

Oh I can tell you these are so good the buffalo chicken is a-maz-ing and I'm serious NOT hard to make so please let me know what you think... I've also got in a situation where my hubby bought KFC for everyone so I took a grilled chicken leg and some ff cream of chicken and blended that with a lil pepper in the blender and it wasn't too bad... I dunno I was in a crunch and didn't have grilled chicken on hand haha if anyone has any ideas feel free to spread the wealth... It's only as miserable as we let it be... Think outside the box... I'm still having Protein intake issues but I made it to 55 g today so I'm improving... I'm just glad the nausea is gone and the feeling like I'm going to pass out at any moment...

  10. This puréed stage is worse than the liquid phase for me! lol I find it absolutely disgusting and horrid to put any kind of meat in a blender. lol I have been living off tuna and smashed up green Beans. I made some crab concoction and smashed my fork into like fifty times today that was okay. lol I'd rather eat Popsicles all day :( I can't wait to start soft foods. Blah!!! Sorry just venting. I know it will get better and I have had good progress

Hey I agree but I found some awwwwwwesome recipes for us all if you haven't already seen them one sec and ill repost for us march sleevers

  11. No I was craving weird things during my liquid phase haha those cravings are gone now. But I have had tuna scrambled eggs I smashed up like a big piece of shrimp. Not the best idea I haven't had. Haha I've had some sugar free Water ice. Mashed cauliflower was okay. This isn't all in one day either lol I am excited for soft foods tho. KFC grilled chicken sounds amazing!!! lol thanks for giving me that to think about

Yes my buddy who talked me into the sleeve said the ONLY fast food she ever allows (she is 1 yr down and 105 lbs lost) she gets two grilled chix legs and green Beans and from chic-fil-a she gets the kids meal grilled nuggets and fruit or apple sauce Id love the club without the sauce and the bread but that's a pipe dream think I'll stick to the grilled leg haha

  12. I'm getting nervous! I'm still on puréeds but I haven't "eaten" anything in almost 4 hours and I still feel kinda full. Is that normal? LoL I've been sipping on Water since so I don't get dehydrated but I have no desire to eat anything at all for te rest of the night.

What are your ok'd puréed foods... I have my appt Monday for 2 week check up... Hoping they clear me for the next step!!! What about soft foods? I can't wait to eat salmon cheese and Cajun grilled fish?! Is that weird? Haha oh and a grilled chix leg from KFC ...

  13. Ok so has anyone cheated?!!! Im a week and two days post op on full liquids and I decided to try some refried Beans tonight!:-) which were so good! I must add i didnt get nearly half as much acid reflux with that as i do eating the thimgs i should be! Anyone else expierance this? Should i not havedone this?am i harming mysrlf

I haven't cheated but man do I feel so drained... I am aching in every organ muscle and bone... I can't take much more so I'm living vicariously thru you... I'm trying so hard to get fluids and Protein in... I was sleeved on the 13th and I'm wondering why I did this? I'm really hoping this all gets better soon...

  14. My nut said mashed potatoes' date=' over cooked veggies (not fresh, only canned or frozen) smashed with a fork, oatmeal or cream of wheat, mac and cheese, cottage cheese, canned tuna or chicken mixed sparingly with mayo or pesto, cottage cheese, ricotta, banana, etc. All of it cooked well and smushed first.[/quote']

Does anyone else want to give up their favorite puréed foods and/or soft foods or semi-solids? I'm not sure how I feel about puréed meat? Anyone have some good recipes or what is getting you by?

  15. So I'm finally feeling cable to my normal self getting ready Togo crack to work and all!! And what do you know I caught the cold my kids have been circling' date=' I can't reach my doc but I'm miserable I got a cough, runny nose, pain and aching Everywere! Has anybody gone through this?? Can I take medicine? Like DayQuil, any other over the counter medicines??[/quote']

I'm one week post op with the same symptoms I caught from my daughter ... I called the doc... It didn't really help said to take Tylenol and wait it out make sure to stay hydrated and a heating pad is helping me on my knees back and neck... Ugh can't wait til this over ... It's affecting my Protein intake

  16. It gets easier. I promise. I PROMISE!! Just take it five minutes at a time and sleep when you can. That's what I did. I just tried to sleep through the first couple weeks. Wake up to walk of course and make sure you're doing your best at fluids. I didn't have Protein for a week because I caught a stomach virus a week after my surgery! Thursday is my two week mark and in eating regular food already. One day makes a huge difference. Pot helps- ALOT! Seriously. Big time. But just remember we all heal differently' date=' take your time and just remember you HAVE to do it for your child! It's a lot easier to do something when you know there's no alternative. Walk walk, sip sip, and mark your calendar for four days from today. I PROMISE you'll feel better! You will feel like you've made progress! You can do this :-)[/quote']

Thanks it's been quite a roller coaster ride... Especially since my hubby didn't want me to get the surgery in the first place... But then again he eats like a 400 lb man and looks like a body builder haha he doesn't understand my struggles... I remember feeling this way on that crazy HCG diet I did... I feel anorexic... Ugh just have to keep going.. Oh and the aches and pains in my neck back and butt!! Whew! I've been on a liquid diet for 4 weeks already... The pre-op 5 shakes a day & now this... On the upside I only have the one incision in my belly button and no drain... So I'm holding onto no scarring... But I do have tiger stripes from child birth

  17. So i just had a mini melt down crying and wondering why i did this to my body and if it was the right thing to do. I guess just feeling really emotional today and gettin gcaught up in the discomfort and all the suckieness that is the first few weeks post op. Anyone else felt this way? :(

Girl I just did too... It hasn't been a breeze and I'm hoping this negative feeling just dissipates after the four weeks... I had my VSG on March 13, had horrible nausea in the hp and dry heaved for the two days, cont'd to have nausea when I got home... Although I have support they are eating like All fast food around me, and I have a two yr old... It's just tough because she wants to be right there with me... And of course I got her head/chest cold... I can't find any Protein I like so far and that worries me so much... I've tried the GNC women's Protein in vanilla yuck, the New whey Protein Shots in different flavors (makes me gag because they are so syrupy even mixed with water), the Isopure, I'm just having a time... My throat hurts And I just want to gulp Water down... Please please tell me this is temporary... What am I gonna do about the protein? Anyone wanna talk me off the ledge? On the day of surgery I got down to 216.2 down from 226 on the liver reduction and gained weight from the surgery and now am 211... So that is my positive but I have to figure out this protein I don't want to lose my hair...
