  1. So glad to hear so many good stories of success!! I came home today, but the late afternoon and night yesterday was like hitting a wall. I had a lot of pain and gas. My dr told me today that that's why they keep sleevers over 2 nights, often that late second day is bad, and for me it was. Fortunately I woke feeling really good, still no incision pain, lots of walking the halls and felt like a new person. So far so good at home, I'm able to drink pretty well. I've gotten in two shakes today and so far about 30 oz of Water.
  2. My dr. Group says you can take them, just need to space them out one at a time, not a big handful.
  3. I got the celebration chewables, you need 2/ day of the multi and 1/day for iron. They taste pretty good, if you go to their website you can get a big box of samples to try for $3
  4. I must be in the minority. My booty is huge and I can't wait to see it go!!!
  5. 2nd day at hospital from afternoon through the night, was kind of miserable. Lots of gas pain in upper chest from fixing install hernia. They started me out on unjury Protein, but after (6) qoz drinks I couldn't do it anymore, major spasm issues. They told me that's why most docs make you stay two night, because that 2nd 24-48 hours the worst stomach swelling and you can get very little in wo hurting yourself. I now know that to be true! Going home today on liquid Vicodin, gas drops , etc. but the last day since yesterday eve have not been real good, hopefully coming out of that phase now:)
  6. Sleeved yesterday and doing great! No incision pain at all. A bit of gas pain high in the chest, PA says that's from the hiatal hernia repair they did. Been up wandering the halls a lot because as you know getting good sleep in a hospital just ISN'T going to happen, lol. Probably going home tomorrow, staring on 1oz Protein cups today along with my ice chips. So happy and surprised with the ease of it so far, hop that continues!! Welcome to h sleeved side Alene, how you doing??
  7. Hey lite, My surgery was today, and like you I felt very at peace. Everything went well, never have had any incision pain! He found a smallish hiatal hernia and repaired, so actually the only pain is high on the chest when I breathe in. Surgeon says its more from the hernia. I requested and all of the nausea meds, and so glad I did, absolutely no nausea! Walked the halls twice this eve with a nurse and she said next I can try on my own. Absolutely happy about how well it's gone so far!! Stay calm, visualize a success, pray, and you will do fine!
  8. just checking in to let you know I'm doing well. According to my surgeon it was a textbook surgery. He also found a small hiatal hernia at the top of my stomach and fixed that. I'm having pain when breathing in and he says the pain is because of that repair. I've had absolutely no pain at the 5 laparoscopy incisions, a major miracle:). They are doing great. I was just up for the first time to pee and try a short walk and it went well. They allowed me to loose the the h ospital gown and get into baggy sweats and shirt, that feels great. Lots of pain and anti nausea meds but they seem to be doing the job, yay!
  9. good luck curvy! I'm today too:)
  10. Sleepless night I'm afraid:( I knew I was going to do that! Heading out in about an hour, saying a prayer now for all my sleeve buddies today:) Find your peaceful place.

  16. prayers for you guys! Aline and I are on Tuesday so we'll both be praying for you til then:)
  17. Good luck Tuesday Aline!! We we both come through wonderfully!!
  18. Mine wasn't a number, it was a culmination of many things. I tried South Beach twice after New Years. The book says the first 2 week killer phase should bring about 8-13 lbs weight loss. I never cheated and threw my all into it, and I lost 3 pounds each time. I went to my dr in tears and begged for help. I'm turning 50 next year and I think it's a bit of a mid life crisis thing for me too. I have started avoiding social things, staying in more,, avoiding photos, and totally shaken by seeing photos of me. Something just clicked and I was truly just fed up with the whole thing. I recognized with the 2 south beach experiences that something was just not right with my metabolism and I needed to try something else. My doctor suggested surgery and I knew that was the answer. My sleeve is this coming Tuesday, looking forward to my new life with excitement!
  19. That is just incredible Kristie!! You look just great, congrats!!! I can't even imagine being in a size 8, have not allowed myself to dream of that:)
  20. PS- forgot to say, I'm down 7 pounds from Mondays dr appt-- only 4 days on the diet!!! Aline, you're the 18th, right?
  21. Checking in, looking forward to my surgery next Tuesday the 18th! Who else is on the 18th? I know some have been moved back and some have joined us. I'm doing the preop diet this week, high high Protein but not just liquids. Everything is from my drs office food store, mostly shakes, bars, and a decent "real" boxed dinner like a frozen dinner. I'm so surprised that I haven't felt hungry eating 800-900 calories a day! This protien stuff is where it's at for feeling unhungry. I have a sense of peace and calm, no more anxiety. I feel very confident in my doctors skill and the rest I have placed in Gods hands, and a peace has grown in me, so I am just ready! Dreading the 2 weeks do liquid diet more than the surgery:( Let me know how all my 6/18 partners are doing, and good luck everyone!!
  22. I'm on Tuesday too! I have mentally gotten past the fright and am just excited to get going!
