I have not been able to ride a rough carnival ride since surgery - which sucks since I fit in everything now!
Were you able to tolerate the rougher rides?

**Raises hand** Count me in too...mine is more of a gurgling noise from my throat. But the kicker is that when I'm full, I hiccup twice REALLY LOUD! I don't understand that & will be embarrassed if I do it out in public! I asked my doctor about the gurgling noises & he said it's fairly common. He said it would go away in time.

So I am 2 and a half months post op and after I eat meals my throat makes really weird noises for like a half hour after I eat. Its really loud! Does that happen to anyone else? and do you know how to stop it. I don't feel any pain or discomfort, its just weird noise.

I am on day 12 post op and have also had 3 days with no weight loss, but I think it's because I haven't been eating enough. My body is comfortable with so little and always being overweight I know that its always been that the less calories I take in the more weight I lose, but at this few calories I'm sure my body has reached starvation mode and is just holding on to everything I put into it for fear that there is nothing more coming. I have reached that plateau before when trying to lose weight, when you put in too little your body just doesn't think it can get rid of ANY. It never has really made sense to me, but today I am going to focus harder on getting all of my nutritional needs met, eventhough I am not hungry, and see if there is a weight change tomorrow. I'm also going to try to be more active today...go for a walk or maybe a swim. I am one pound away from ONEDERLAND and it's killing me that I can't lose it!!

Uhm, when I started I was a 24/26 pants and 2x top. After surgery the the sizes kinda just flew downward.. but let me tell ya it's great not to have to pay $50 bucks for a pair of pants in Lane Bryant!
I can shop anywhere! Clearance racks here I come!
    I am currently a 12 pants m/L top and I have 30lbs to go!

These last 2 weeks have been great for me! 1st let me say that this has been like an up and down roller coaster ride. I have good days and I have bad days but I always look forward to my good days!
I was sleeved on 1-16-13 my highest weight was 376. surgery day was 363 today I weigh 292 for a total of 84#s down.
A big week because I cannot remember when I was under 300#. when I weighed myself I got off and got back on just to make sure!! It was an amazing feeling. I'm sure somee of u know the feeling! Also, I have not made a purchase on any kind of clothing because I think its a waste but I would walk by cars or mirrors and all I would see is a person looking like a slob with big ol baggy clothes. So... I decided I needed to buy something. Pre op I was wearing size 26 I recently bought some size 20s!! I'm glad I made this decision just wish I wouldve did it sooner!
Even tho I don't post much on here Im grateful for the support and inspiration!

Just a warning....this may be TMI....but.... I took a Tbsp of Milk of Magnesia last night and finally had a BM after 8 days! I'm 7 days post-op. It was small but I had been on mostly liquids pre-op 2wks and liquids for a week now...Didn't expect much but it was good to get it out :-)

I have!! I am 9 days post op. I was having TERRIBLE pain after surgery, they had me on dilaudid for pain which made me so sick all I did was dry heave for hours and I even threw up blood which scared me to death , my dr told me it was ok bc it was a small amount but gahh those 2 days post op were terrible. Has ur nurse told you to keep alcohol swabs near? If you wave them in front of your nose the smell will help with your nasea. And hopefully your getting some zofran or phernergan for it as well. I am so sorry that feeling is terrible but I promise every day gets better. I am still struggling with little hurdles but I know we can do this!!!! Keep reading these forums and focus on the positive!! several weeks from now when you've lost a number of pounds and your feeling better you will say aha! It was worth it, I remember why I am doing this... Hope you feel better soon.

I don't doubt you at all. We are all different in body shape, metabolism, and body fat to muscle. I was a size 18/20 at my heaviest and my BFF who weighed about 10 pounds less than me wore a size 22/24. I am athletic and active and when I do concentrate on eating well, I lose weight quickly and then after about 3 weeks I stop all together. (This is when I usually give up all together, binge a bit and gain it all back.)
I have fat genes on both sides, but that said, I can blame no one but myself for where I am in my weight loss journey. My parents are both in good shape and they work hard to stay that way. I work hard most of the time but the times I don't work hard, I gain copious amounts of weight and justify it to my own detriment.
I chose this surgery because I can't quit it. I also chose this surgery because I am extremely obsessive compulsive and when I did WWs, all I thought about was points, measuring, weighing, planning meals, tracking, to the point that I drove myself nuts and I felt unproductive in other aspects of my life. I can't do that any more. Now, with my teeny tiny tummy, my choices are made for me. I still have to worry about getting in the Protein and liquids, but my mindset is completely different because my choices are so limited for now.
I hope this creates new habits for me as my tummy heals and I slowly incorporate new foods into my diet.

I'm on day 6 of my Pre-op diet. Down 12.4lbs. Very strict low carb/cal diet. Wasn't given a goal of carbs or cals, but following the roles of 2-3 shakes a day and only 1 meal (on a salad plate, no more than 4oz. meat and up to a cup of green veggies) has left me in the 600-800 calorie range and under 40 carbs. I've done well today, but think I overdid my activity level yesterday. Ugh major Migraine all day today! Can only take Tylenol too...

What does your prep op diet look like? I started today as well and had a Protein Shake (w/1% milk) for Breakfast, broth for lunch, non fat yogurt for snack and shake for dinner. I feel like the milk and yogurt are no no's. The Dr. didn't say I had to do a pre op diet but I feel its for the best. Any Advice? Thanks in advance.

I started today too! I don't have to do all liquids (clear) until the last two days. For now I'm supposed to stay "lean & green" per my nut. High Protein, low carb, 1200-1500 cals per day.
I am also having Protein Shakes, had one for breakfast mixed with Water, so I can try out all the different flavors in a sample pack I got from my doc's office.
Dealing with head hunger primarily, I know that will be the hardest part for me.

I found the pre-op liquid only diet extremely challenging but sounds like many others (from what I've read) didn't have a tough time with it. I can do a strict diet but I can't stand artificial sweetener, I struggle with Protein Shakes and I just want real food - luckily, it's not that long that until I can start having real food again. As a former pro-wrestler, I'm guessing you will have better go at the liquid diet since you are maybe used to rigid diets/training. Best wishes to you on your surgery and on-going success!!
