  1. This past week I really started focusing on tracking all of my calories. On Monday I ate as I normally would (post surgery ofcourse) just to see what my intake was. I was going waaay over 800. So I started modifying what I ate. Its still hard for me to stay at 800 but I'm trying foods to keep it low. My goal now is 800-1000. And that still might be too much. Anyway my weighin day is Friday. So in the few days that I've been reducing my calories, I lost 1.5lbs. I know that doesn't sound like much but I was thrilled! !! This is tmi But I also have my period and hadn't gone to the bathroom in a few days so I with factoring in that, I was proud!

  2. Are u all getting ur Water in? I'm not doing so good with that. Do anyone of u know what if ur doing anything ur not supposed to? I need ideas. Because I'm sooo frustrated. I feel like I failed at this and my body is done. Everytime I feel like I'm gonna have a good weighin week, something happens and I'm back to not losing. My week was great. I was a pound down and still had 5 more days to go before my official weekly weighin which is on friday. Tmi I'm sorry but I've been constipated and haven't gone in days and now I'm 2lbs up. GRRRR

  3. I'm trying to get myself in to that mentality. I'm about 7-8 weeks out and I haven't lost much. I'm a slow loser. I lost 4.5lbs in my 2 week pre op diet. So total pounds lost including preop is 26. I mean I know its still good but I thought it would come off faster. But I really think I'm just so anxious to start seeing a big change. I'm gonna try giving up the scale.. but ill probably fail at that lol.

  4. Ok so today is 18 days post op and I notice I was able to eat a whole can of tuna. About 6 onz. Did not hurt at all. And I have not being hungry I did something I not sure if I could do but I went to starbucks and bough a Decaf coffee with skim milk and not sugar. It was pretty good. I just can say I really enjoy my coffee.

I did too. There's Protein In it as well! Starbucks gave me a nutrition chart of all their drinks.< /p>

  5. The nurse explained that Gasx doesnt really help, because thats intended for gas inside your stomach, or intestines or wherever its meant. But the gas that they fill us with is inside the belly, surrounding the stomach and intestines, so it wont really work.

  6. For some reason when I use the app on my phone, Im blocked from this forum.

My surgery was great. I almost felt like it was a fake surgery. Ofcourse it felt like I did a 1000 situps, but it was bearable. So far Im very happy. Ive had no issues at all. And you?

  7. I didnt have a gallbladder test or upper GI.

The Dr recommended 10-15lbs lost I think on a 2 week preop diet.

I didnt cheat but I only lost 4.5lbs! Technically I was on it for 11 days because my date was pushed forward. I was terrified I wouldnt be able to have my surgery because I had also taken excedrin Migraine less than a week before.

I had the Drs cellphone number, so I txted him all of that and he said it wouldnt be a problem. His nurse knew I had concerns about my liver being the proper size for surgery, and she came in my room the next day and told me she saw it and it looked perfect.

Soooo hopefully your surgeon isnt too strict about an actual 7% weight loss since I didnt come close and was still fine.

  8. I had to get a medical clearance from my dr. And that's where they send ur labs. So I had to pay my drs copay. I also paid for the prescriptions And that was about $23 for 3 of them.

I chose to add the BLIS insurance. That's about $1100 extra but that will cover u for 3 months in the event of a complication like a leak., perforation, or stricture (I think those are the 3).
