1. I am over 2 years out. I got weaker, then strong and then weaker again. I know exactly WHAT caused it and now it is time to refocus on strengthening exercise.

how does that work after you have the extra skin removed? I know that I have to wait about two months

  2. Noticed today one of the daily pills (Wellbutrin xr) take didn't dissolve the whole pill just went straight thru...anyone know else have this issue or know how to combat?

I was on that for a short time I guess 10 years ago and I had the same problem but this was prior to my surgery.

  3.
I posted this to the main thread and someone I suggested I post it here for more suggestions or advice. TIA.

I was sleeved June 9, 2014. Of course, the weight flew off at first, but after two weeks I hit a stall. I figured it was the typical firs stall. But, I stayed on that stall for over 5 weeks. My doctor sugguested I see a dietician because the stall was lasting so long. They doc also suggested I eat 800 calories most days and zigzag to 1000 calories on other days.

I did consult a dietician and she gave me some advice. She told me to eat about 600-800 calories a day (conflicting information from her and the doctor) and up my strength training and Protein. I did that....and only lost 2 pounds in 3 weeks. I have lost a very small amount of inches also, so it's not just the scale. I'm doing strength training about 4 days a week and cardio almost everyday.

Though I'm thrilled with the 20+ pounds I've lost since surgery, it's discouraging to know that I've only lost about 5 pounds in seven weeks. Most of my weight came off with the liquid diet. With all the exercising and low amount of calories I've been eating, I would have expected more.

My doctor doesn't seem concerned. He said my numbers look good. I know I'm sensitive about this because I failed with the lapband. But, I'm feeling super discouraged right now. I'm doing everything right and still making minimal progress. Maybe my metabolism is just slow? Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

don't give up! You're doing all the right things. Everyone tends to lose weight differently. I honestly believe everybody is different so sometimes low-carb diets work for others and gluten-free for other people etc. stick to what you're doing maybe even if you can't hold down the food try to get in 1200 calories. You may be burning too much. That's what happened to me. shows like the biggest losers don't show that accuracy. I wish you luck!! Just believe in yourself and again don't give up!!!!????

  4.
DO NOT walk as much as they tell you to! I over walked and it ended up costing me. I thought I was dying! You wont need peroxide, gauze, or gloves after surgery lol. Your going to be fine! Good luck !

lol. Maybe I went overboard with the gloves but I heard peroxide helps with the itching . The gloves I got for my tubes; when I need to drain them… My doctor told me to have gauze. it's in my notes but forgot why. They will provide me with compression garments but he doesn't feel the necessary. I'm having the work done by the left, flankadplasty, branchiopasty and finally breast. All done at once I feel that I also need my inner thighs done but he said that the body lift should take care of it. I used to look extremely young and now I don't. So scared, but I am debating a facelift. I'm going to listen to you about the compression garments ; are ace bandages do is okay for the arms? They will provide me one for my abdomen and I have an extra one here. I guess I just need to order something for my boobies. I'm taking two months off from the gym I hope that's enough time but also hope it doesn't cause any damage.

  5. Today marks my 8th week post op from plastic surgery! I had a Tummy Tuck, arm lift, breast lift and augmentation. It was hell the first week but now I am really starting to feel more and more like my old self each day! I still have days that I get really tired or sore.. But fore the most part in doing and feeling great! I am loving my new body! Here are some before and after pics !

Same arm before and after

Same arm before and after

Tummy before and after

Where he got rid of the side of boob skin!!

With workout clothes on!

Before Gastric Bypass

After plastic surgery

it looks phenomenal I can't believe that's what eight weeks looks like!

  6. I can't believe it but in less than a week I'm having surgery! The works I'm not even nervous.(I will be if I decide to have a facelift afterwards) I bought bandages ,peroxide gloves and gauze etc. I'm ready. The only thing is my surgeon says I will not need to wear my bandages.. Little nervous taking two months off from the gym. And then if I have my facelift another two months. Does anyone have any tips. I want to make sure I'm fully healed. My surgeon doesn't even recommend in scar gel he said he just doesn't believe in it or some of the massage that the other surgeons recommend it.(they had spas attached to it their offices) In a year he does a technique to get rid of scars in his office . Any tips are welcome. Actually go ahead pylon all the tips you can give me.I will call the office but, I forgot to ask how many ice packs I should have on hand. Thanks everybody. Enjoy your week.

  7. I just had a lower body lift in TJ with a wonderful surgeon, who is a board certified PS plus a micro-surgeon so his incisions are flawless...Please take your time and really research this, I spent a whole year looking for the right surgeon. I went to cosmed last year and had a terrible outcome, my arms need a revision as well as my breast. The implants need to be removed and the pocket rebuilt and then they have to heal for 6 months before another implant can be put in. I wish I had found my surgeon back then. My new surgeon is Dr Victor Gutierrez and he specializes in WLS patients also. He has a 5 star rating from realself. That's how I found him and I am so glad I did.

thanks, it was you who I received the alert from!!

  8. Yes I want to several seminars and although one plastic surgeon didn't mention it as a lifestyle lift he was going to do that to me. It is the worst surgery ,you have to get it redone and the wires often come loose. At one seminar a plastic surgeon went over every surgery possible, he mentioned never ever have "a lifestyle lift"I came on here today because I had nowhere that someone mentioned a doctor in San Diego. I wish I knew how to navigate this website a little better. I will get you the name of the surgeon and the person who told me about it.

  9. Best of luck! Can't wait to hear about it!

Does insurance cover this? Just checking for when I reach my goal and need this surgery, too!

No, I didn't meet the criteria to have my TT be funded by my insurance ; ( For everything I had done, TT, BL/BA and arm lift it cost $18,220.00.i chose a highly skilled plastic surgeon who specializes in weight loss reconstruction plastic surgery

I don't understand how so many people are getting a Tummy Tuck paid for.My experience all the surgeon i've been to( they even took my insurance) says insurance never pays for it I have been to around 7 plastic surgeons in the New York New Jersey area. All of them top-notch except for one .

  10. I am a nurse. I do private duty nursing for a plastic surgeon in NYC. He is an excellent surgeon and specializes in face and neck lifts. He's really quite meticulous and I have yet to meet anyone that is unhappy with the results. If you would like info I am happy to share privately. He did my Tummy Tuck and breast lift in April after 90 pound loss. I don't have a before pic but will show you the selfies I took last week.

as long as it's not lifestyle lift yes please give me all the information. Thanks.

  11. Hi… Can anyone recommend a great doctor . My surgeons one of the top but my gut is telling me to go to a specialist plastic surgeon that specializes in just face and neck. (Basically your face )I went to one in North Jersey and he recommended liposuctions for my neck considering I'm young. I saw many many plastic surgeons and not one of them thought that Lipo was a good idea considering it's skin not fat!! I also went to seminars and many of the doctors feel lifestyle lift is a big no-no, no wires in-your-facex(please stay far away from life list).so if anyone has a time please let me know of a doctor in the tri-state area.

  12. Since having my gallbladder out I was having diarrhea so bad the dr put me on meds to stop and I still take today. Just wondering how it would affect everything already going on! Just don't want it to be a disaster that I regret because it's so permanent! Having second thoughts dde22

I think you will be fine… I had my gallbladder removed about two years before my surgery I also was on the meds. I now have the opposite problem now. Good luck!

  13. I finally found a Dr. I'm comfortable with and trust! But the stress of the payment is spiraling me into a deep depression. It's weird I need my inner thighs, vagina, stomach ,arms & maybe my neck ;it makes me look tired so I'm considering that but I'm scared shitless to touch my face. i'm praying to God that insurance pays for half of that release for my stomach which is the most expensive 16, because I have to stay in the hospital. I don't need any of my back done: no love handles just everything I've described. I'm so depressed I lost so many of my friends. It was about health now I'm getting carried away with the vanity. I'm tired all the time anyway but it would be nice not to look it. I feel like I can't tell anybody the truth about anything anymore. Does anybody else feel this way? Or have any suggestions I'm willing to try anything.

  14. Time flies....first, all the positives: 1. Mobility is better - my # 1 reason for WLS in the first place 2. 99 lbs are gone 3. Feel physically & mentally better overall 4. Look better in clothes & more content with myself in clothes 5. Found a Protein Shake I can deal with - GNC Total Lean ( $$, but works for me) 6. Eating and drinking no longer hurt Now, the realities 1. My back & legs still hurt - no surgery of any kind will make me pain free 2. I have lost & gained the same 5 lbs since Thanksgiving 3. Hair loss began about the 4 month mark (even though I was doing all that I should) and continues...it has been traumatic for me; my hair was nearly all I had in the looks department... 4. I am still not in the size I want...I am not hung up on a weight, but a clothing size...I am close, but not there yet 5. I can eat junk - no problem 6. I can deal with a Protein shake, but still hate them with a passion...as I do Water My story - I still regret WLS...I would never do it again...I am at peace with my regret...but many told me that I'd feel so much differently in a month's time, 3 mths, 6 mths, and definitely, at the 1 year mark - however, I did not, and I do not...I wish I would have never done it...I am not me anymore...I don't feel like me in most given situations...it is something I have learned to deal with especially in the last three or so months...I would never recommend anyone to do this...the hair loss is horrible plus not even feeling like the real me - those two things truly make wls not worth it....maybe to some, it would be...but not to me...so, I live with my regret & have chosen to handle it the best I can.

wow! I'm sorry for your bad experience and I know that losing hair to be dramatic I had trouble just cutting it but there different styles that you could do many treatments you can try .don't give up your skinnier healthy for new life for you live it. The happy increase the new style and placed in the clothes getaway just go with the flow. Really shouldn't be about weight unfortunately people treated me differently when I was overweight
