  1. That's why I love this forum.....if you want to know the FACTS of bandland....come here! I certainly wasn't told about sliming....and PBing in the consult! I didn't PB at all until after my 2nd fill......and wow.....the last couple of days have been horrible! But the solution is either in myself or an unfill!.....it is a mechanical device and I must learn to work it....and fine tune it!....as I'm getting thinner of course!
  2. STEF....last Thursday! Afternoons and evenings are worse for me!
  3. I am a retired RN......and worked at a doctor's office for years....you should always be able to talk to a doctor or nurse if you need help!!!! Good luck!
  4. I do believe our little PA.....got "fill happy"! I'm very tight as well! Somedays no matter what I eat....how slow...and how much I chew....it gets stuck! Even Protein shakes on some days get stuck. What worries me is that I've thrown up about 5 times.
  5. I got my first fill at 4 weeks and second at 7 weekds! Under fluorscopy. 1cc the first time...and 3/4cc the second in a 4cc band! Good luck!
  6. I have an Inamed card.....that says maximum fill volume is 4cc. Is that right?
  7. I wish I understood this "fill" and "restriction" business!!!! I had my 2nd fill and I PBed for the first time.....for about 5 days....I had to be super-careful...then today!....BAM....feels like no restriction!? Any suggestions? Any condolences? LOL! Any input?
  8. Okay....I'm confused! I was told I have the "small Inamed" band....so which one is that?
  9. wow...I'm always amazed at the vast difference in diet plans! I'm up to solids now....but I did get "stuck" for the first time! Much more careful now! Yucky!
  10. I've been banded 7 weeks....and did not "get stuck" until after my 2nd fill! And it's tight! I don't really PB....kinda a quick "up-chuck"!? Being more careful now!
  11. I'm with you......I stay ravenous when I'm on liquids....but with food I do stay full longer......I doubt I'll stay on liquids for 2 days much less 7!
  12. Hey guys! Had my second fill yesterday! 1cc first fill then 1 cc yesterday! (I have the small band.....4cc I believe!?) Anyway....can you tell me what restrictions they put you on after a fill? I'm supposed to do 5 days of liquids and then slowly progress to solids.....?!
  13. I went yesterday for my second fill and I asked them is it common for you to have less restriction after the first fill than before....and they said they see it all the time......and did not have a totally accurate answer to why it happens so frequently. This as the Nurse Practitioner and the X-Ray tech for fluoroscopy!
  14. Hey just got my second fill yesterday and wondering what other doctors say you can eat afterwards? Mine says liquids for 5 days then slowing progressing to solids after 7 days?
  15. Yep! Me! I had my first fill 3 weeks ago and having my second this week! I've plateaued since the first fill! Looking forward to the 2nd fill....and very hopeful about the 2nd! Bandster Hell! I suppose!....but hey at least I've lost....not gained....and toning up as I'm working out alot!
  16. I have no idea! I paid $15,000.00 for surgery center, anthesia, doctor and a year of fills under fluoroscopy and follow-ups. after a year fills are $150; still under fluoroscopy.
  17. I got it from a relative that actually had the band!!!! Saying "well I should've talked to her first"...... I'm a nurse and people LOVE to be negative.....LOVE to "be informed".....LOVE to have the worst stories....bah, bah, bah! My biggest comeback is "well at the worst it totally reversible!" HA!!!! LOL! But really!? Who cares if you've done the research....you know what is right for you and your life and your health!
  18. Has anyone ever gained 3 lbs in a week.....eating the same things that you ate before and lost 3 lbs a week....and yet your clothes are getting looser and looser? Help! I'm discouraged by the scale and yet I'm feeling thinner....workingout 5 days a week! Getting another fill this week........
  19. :omg: You may have something there!!! I think its the PA that does my fills....she's kinda gruff and ruff!!!!! That must be it! She's still yanking my chain!!!! :heh:
  20. I had a fill.....seems to be less restriction after the fill!?!? I've scheduled the second fill for next week! Looking forward to feeling full again!
  21. yep...right now I'm up a pound....and yep I'm sore! It happens....and I agree it's discouraging even when you know it's not "real weight gain!"
  22. I work out 5 days a week! 30 minutes of cardio with 30 minutes of weights on Monday/Wednesday/Friday....then 40 minutes of cardio on Tuesday/Thursday! I love a gym. I seem to be more accountable to myself if I drive somewhere plus I like the activity around me and the people! I have lost 18 lbs and I really would've thought I would love quicker considering I'm working out hard.....but I tell myself I'm gaining muscle and toning so I'm losing more fat!!!! Lol!
  23. I hear you! Fortunately I had my first fill at a month! Protein, protein and more protein seemed to be the biggest help for me! Hang in there!
  24. When you say 4cc band....that's the small one? Because I had heard all about the "new" band and thought I needed it but the doctor said it was too big so he put the small one in. And I've had some restriction the entire time!
  25. Makes sense! Thanks! I think I'm up for another fill first of August!
