  1. I believe everyone has "issues"!!!! Lol! But whatever learn from your mistakes and move on!

For me the best thing after having the lapband was the sheer pleasure of food was gone! For me that is a miracle! food was a comfort to me. And yes sometimes just laziness and overeating!

Whatever....doesn't really matter. I don't think about food as much anymore. When I eat its slowly and I savor what small amount I get! So I guess "issues" resolved!

    Good Luck! Have fun!

  2. I think for me at least the band has given me that freedom of not wanting food constantly! After a while I started to realize that I just didn't need as much food!

I love going to restaurants now because I can eat what I want but not as much! I don't pig out anymore right before I "diet" again because I'm not deprived of anything.

Don't get me wrong because I can still eat all "wrong" foods now and not lost and even gain sometimes! But this is such a new lifestyle for me I love it!

If I order in a restaurant I share a plate or eat an appetizer. If I fix a plate at home I use a small dinner plate. I think for me eating slow; chewing well; and small portions. If I overeat it just hurts! And I burp ALOT! Not very attractive!

Good luck! I understand this doesn't work for everyone but for me it was the missing tool I needed! For it to work I must do my job! But I would do it over and over again if I had to!

  3. I actually found out for myself what was too tight! After my last fill I could not even get Water to go down.......horrible feeling.....came right back up! UGHHHH! Went back in after 30 minutes and got an unfill!

I've had fills before when things just seemed "slow".....then I lost weight and it got looser!

    Good luck!

  4. Just wondering....does anyone have VERY erratic restriction....this last month has me confused....I mean one day EVERYTHING seems to go down nicely whether I chew slow or well and then the next Water when i work out seems to take a minute to go down and I get stuck on what I chewed very well and then the next seems like little to no restriction!

Before this restriction seemed to be fairly predictable......right after a fill.....tight....until I lose the weight then it loosens up...or maybe stress or my feminine cycle could influence it a bit.

    Anyway just confused....any advice....suggestions...comments?

  5. Yep! Me too on my first fill! It stinks!!!! I asked the nurse practitioner and x-ray tech and they agreed they get that complaint ALL the time! Bandster Hell I suppose....but man my 2nd fill did the trick and I just had my third one this week! I swear it gets better!

  6. I've lost almost 130 pounds with the Lapband and have kept it off for almost a year and a half now. That's something that I have never been able to do before the band. I don't eat diet foods, nor do I diet. So if getting the Lapband is just a big con, then call me conned and I'm loving every minute of it! :)

Tricia....you're the kind of con that inspires me! :clap2:

  7. savery.....I think you are asking very direct and honest questions! I for one researched the lapband thoroughly before having it done and it was the best thing I did! I had friends that had it done and to be honest it has not really worked for them!

For me.....well so far I think it was the best decision for me! I have been as small as a size 4 and as large as a 24! I can lose weight but at 46 I had grown tired! I wanted a little extra help! That extra tool! I think the lapband only works if you consider it a tool....not the cure-all! I can now enter a restaurant without the fear of eating everything in sight! My binges now consist of maybe one night eating "easy to go down" carbs like a small bag of M&M's instead of a week of grazing!

Just make sure it is right thing for you! Ask all the "rude" questions you need! LOL! It'll be worth it in the end!
