    Anyone else have this issue?

Makes sense! Thanks! I think I'm up for another fill first of August!
  2. SimplyMe

    Really scared

I was a "lower BMI" starting out too.....I only had 3 days of liquid diet! But I say always be honest to your surgeon.....only he/she has the full story when it comes to what is best for you!

    Slim and PB

"Sliming" what happens when the stoma of your new stomach gets stuck with food and your body produces mucous to "unplug" it....feels like you're sliming everywhere!!! "PB" productive burp! You burp and something comes up! Usually to "unplug" the stomach! I've only done it once....and I was eating too fast!!!!! Search "sliming" and "pb" ....lots will come up! Better than I can describe it!

    Did you see BIG MEDICINE??

I must be missing something.....why does that bother you?

    post op drinking

Actually that was one of my concerns before surgery....as was thinking about working out and basically guzzling water!!! I have absolutely drank all the Water and as fast as I have wanted and no problems.

What kind of calcium do you take?

I'm with TerriDoodle! I feel like I'm getting a treat with my calcium!

    Wow....hurt! What is this?

I think you are probably right!!!!.....come to think of it I've done it before the band.....after a long stretch of eating low-fat and then bam....eating something high in fat and about an hour or half later ( I like the analogy..."temper tatum" !! lol!) it would occur! Think I'll play it safe....liquids today.... Thanks y'all!!!! Always so kind and "johnny on the spot"!!!!
  8. Okay....I've been banded about a month. I've never PBed....slimed.....or "gotten anything stuck"....... But after being up half the night and still sore.....wondering if anyone else has had this situation. I ate last night.....nothing really out of the ordinary....at the lake with friends. (half of a margarita; maybe 5 tortilla chips with guacamole; and maybe a snack plate of fajita meat and refried beans--10 small bites at the most....and this was over 3 hours at least) I began to "gas" up.....pain that radiated into my neck and back....could feel my stomach churning and bubbling.....felt very nauseated....nothing relieved the pain in my stomach, back and neck. So did I do something wrong? Eat to much? Can you feel food "stuck" in the stoma elsewhere besides the chest? I'm doing only liquids today and my stomach still aches!

    Pretend Banding

Well research your doctor....because they all have different guidelines for what you do pre-op and post-op....as you'll find out here in this forum. Much has to do with your weight....your insurance or self-pay....your BMI.....other circumstances. I gave up my old friend "Diet Coke"!!!! Have to say I'm glad....it was an addiction! I only had to do 3 days of pre-op liquids...I was considered a "lower BMI". Then only 5-7 days post-op of full liquids and then slowly progressing to mushies-soft-solids! Good luck! So far It's working for me!

    What to wear

I with Jachut...I wore an underwire bra and jeans home no problem! I have to say though about 2-3 days out i was bloated with lots of gas and chose to wear loose stuff for a couple of days! But could always wear an underwire bra.

    June 2007 Bandsters

....BTW.....if I didn't make myself clear....for all those getting a fill!!!! The fill did not hurt in the least! I just was so bloated from eating something bad last night....I hurt!!!! Amy was great! And Kind!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Yes I had Amy! It hurt!!!! Not because of the needle but last night I ate something that bloated me terribly and when she grabbed that port!!! OOWWWWWCCCCHH! Fortunately she got it first grab and first stick and she and the flouroscopy guy were very nice! She said my band was the smallest one! (I guess I'll ask Dr. Snow...exactly which one next time) and she put in 1cc....and it is the opening size of a pencil! Which was pretty easy to see by the screen! Are you doing without solids for 5 days...then soft foods? So tell me how is it going?!?

    First Fill

Well....had my first fill....1cc....wasn't quite ready to hear liquids only for 5 days!!! But Oh well! Guess that shouldn't be a problem!!! Kinda excited....nervous....about starting to eat again.....Anyone have experiences with eating after first fill?!? You'd like to share?
  15. I'm going for my frist fill tomorrow....in the out-patient OR....under flouroscopy. I'm assuming.....very minor and I will not need someone to go with me. Am I assuming correctly? I live about 70 miles away from the doctor. Any experiences and/or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Stefanie: I know.....I go in for my first fill tomorrow!.....and initially I was extremely careful about chewing and then I've noticed the last couple of days that if I'm really hungry....I "forget" which doesn't cause any problems but I'm guessing after tomorrow....it may! Thanks for a reality check!!!!.......Do you like your fill? How's it working?
  17. Well....I only have been banded a month but I haven't found anything I can't eat! I'll admit a couple of times I kinda got scared of the texture and didn't attempt it (really tough or dry chicken for one)....but the only thing I have missed is my Diet Cokes! And I understand many can drink them with no problems! I felt I needed to give up that addiction though!!! I haven't PB.....but I'm getting my first fill tomorrow so that might change! I chew really well......and eat really slow! I ate PF Chang's last night! Kung Pao Shrimp and fried rice!!! Yummy....but only about 4 shrimp and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of rice! And I was full!!!
  18. I think the best thing you can do is read this forum; ask questions; get informed! I too read a lot here! Asked questions! And I have to say....at least at a month past being banded....nothing has surprised me., I feel prepared for the journey! I was only in "Bandster Hell" right before solid foods! I seem to have restriction after being able to eat solid foods! I make sure I get in Proteins too! So at least right now.....I know I'm into it just a little ways!....I have not really struggled and have yet to "PB"....but I get a fill tomorrow...so It could all change I suppose!!!
  19. SimplyMe

    First Fill

dawneb....I will say that when I got to solid foods.....I felt the restriction....not on mushies or liquids. So you're doing great! I'm impressed!!!!!

    Happy Independence Day

Back at you!!!! In Texas....we're a bit flooded! No boats allowed on the lakes!!!! Raining!!!! But happy and banded!!!!! lol!

    First Fill

I'm going for my first fill tomorrow....but I have to say I am already feeling restricted! It's really amazing how is it so different for everyone. My doctor had installed the new band on everyone he did surgery my day of surgery but me. He said it would've literally slipped around....too big. He put the "small women's" "generation 6"...(I was a little dopey....I'm going to ask him again tomorrow!) But I haven't been in "Bandster Hell" yet! I am so sorry that you have to wait longer for restriction! That has to be discouraging! Like yesterday I ordered a hamburger happy meal.....took the bread off...ate the meat patty and maybe 7 fries and was full..... Can you eat a lot right now? I'm wondering why amounts everyone is consuming......at about 4 weeks out?
  22. AWWWW....thank you!!!! Just what I needed to hear!!!!

    Need Advice - Urgent!

Mine was out of pocket too.....$15,000.00. That was doctor; hospital stay; anesthesiologist; fills and follow-ups for a year. All self-pay.....but I really like having someone close! I'm lower BMI.....and I really think this may be my permanent treatment for my weight!!!!
  24. Where do you buy it? I really hate the Protein shakes.....absolutely too heavy tasting.....but I love crystal light!

    Pre-Op Binge

Well.....I was weighed at my consult and scheduling of surgery! I then ate everything in sight for the next 5 days....and then started my 3 day liquid diet before surgery......I weighed the same! Would I do it again! Yep it was my last good-bye to food addiction as I had "used" it for years!!!!! Yes it would've been better to have lost some during that liquid diet stage beforehand but i certainly don't regret it! I said my good-byes and now it is onward and forward!:clap2:
