    Scale is my enemy

Since we are talking about scales do you guys have cheapo scales or slightly more sophisticated ones?? I have a cheapo digital but am thinking about getting one that's more technically advanced.

    July 2013 Sleevers

I get mine from Sams. I think costco sells them too. You can buy them online also.
  3. I'm two weeks post op. no pain in my stomach and no "tugging" pain in the belly button area. I can take my bandages off today but going to wait as long as I can to take them off. This whole sleeping on my side/back is getting old fast. I am a 100% stomach sleeper. I've tried to sleep on my stomach but I just can't. I'm wondering if its my head playing tricks on me that I'm hurting my incisions or if I really am. I just want one FULL nights sleep without waking up with a numb arm or hurting shoulder/neck.
  4. I tried the whole pillow under my stomach to sleep on my side but I'd wake up with pain in my hip and shoulder. I guess I just sleep all kinds of messed up ways. I would just like one full night of sleep not having to wake up to readjust.
  5. I think it's all mental but I don't know how to get over it. I'm thinking once I get the bandages off it will be easier.

    July 2013 Sleevers

I was sleeved on 7/19. The first day was the worst with gas pain and nausea. Stay in the hospital two night cause I couldn't drink the amount of liquid the doctor wanted me to. Good thing I did stay cause I don't think I would've been able to get myself drinking at home. First couple days at home I had slight pain at my belly button but other then that it was ok. I'm getting almost all my water in. Can't say much about my protein. I have to start drinking shakes. So far down 13 pounds and happy. I'm on soft foods right now and on Sunday I get to transition to all foods. Very excited. I have read that almost everyone is taking calcium citrate. My surgeon never told me to take it. He said with a multivitamin I would be ok. I guess we will see. Best of luck to everyone on their new journeys :-)

    Soft foods

I've been eating hard boiled eggs smashed up like egg salad. I'm thinking I might do more of that in a low carb tortilla
  10. Has anyone gotten a leak a week or two post op?? If so what are rye signs you might have one?? I'm really paranoid about if and would like to know how I would be feeling if I did. I know weird question.

    july 2013 sleevers

I asked my surgeon when I went for my post op check up and he said nothing is banned just watch your carbs and make sure you get your protein and liquids in. I just wanted to make sure I got all the info since I don't see him again till the end of August (even though I can call him or the girls at the office). Papers they give you are soo vague. They don't really explain anything.

I think the hummus is ok just watch your carb in take with the crackers.

I did a yesterday and then made some crystal light decaf ice tea and its made it a whole lot easier. Just changing the taste of something will make it easier.

    Cooked veggies

My Doc said I should have veggies (9 days post op) they just have to be REALLY cooked. And to eat your protein first and veggies last. No salad yet though. But that's just my surgeon.

    Telling family

I took a different route. I told EVERYONE I know. Friends, family and even put it on Facebook. I actually found more people have had some kind if WLS done or knew someone who has. I think it really helps with my recovery process and getting thru everything cause there are people there to congratulate you when you hit certain milestones. I know among everyone I told there are people who don't agree with it but to heck with them. I'm hoping that in telling everyone and not keeping quiet that someone who has been thinking about it will actually do it and change their life like I did.
