Anyone else getting sleeved in August?
I have been making some modifications to my daily diet. I cut out all carbonated drinks as of March 1 which was a big deal. I've increased my level of activity to walking at least 30 minutes 3x a week. I've had my date since the beginning of May, but I chose it to be further out than most folks due to personal reasons. The surgeon's summer schedule hadn't even been made when I chose the date. It has allowed me to reflect a lot more on the decision. I started the process last July so I've had a year to research and make sure this is the right thing. At this point, I don't know if there is much else I can read!

August, 2013
I can understand your concern as this is my biggest fear as well. I've read that statistically speaking leaks only occur 1% of the time which is what keeps my mind a little clear. However, I do not want to be in that 1%. You can read the horror stories which will continue to drive you crazy/batty, but at some point you have to accept the risk. Let's stay positive though.

A helpful tip
My nut gave me a tip to put a timer for 20 mins on the table to watch. It has helped me even though it feels like an eternity!

Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?
I live in the Powhatan area. I received a follow up letter with a request to provide more info. I sent all that in on Friday and received confirmation that they had enough. I have an appt with nutritionist on Thursday and the psych eval on 4/17. Seems like forever, but I'm hopeful of a quick response from Aetna and then scheduling surgery.

Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?
Hello! I just had my consult with the NP at St. Mary's. I selected Dr. Bautista as the surgeon as I went to his seminar in July. I have already finished up my 6 mth req with PCP. I'm scheduling my psych evaluation and then nutritionist visit. The NP told me it would be about 8-10 weeks for Aetna to approve. Do you think that is reasonable or could it be sooner? I'm excited yet nervous!
