  1. Congrats!! I remember how happy I was...jumping and dancing all around!
  2. Post op day 6...had my drainage tube removed this morning. No pain at all today...just a little discomfort. I finally got that burst of energy that everyone is talking about. Getting ready to go flea market grazing. food intake is good...Im starting to recognize when I've eaten enough. It's funny that ive never really paid attention to when i was physically full. This is a lot of getting used to! I am currently starting to read a book callef 'Shrink Yourself' by Roger Gould. It provides a guide to stop emotional hunger. Thats really my biggest hurdle going forward. I really like the book so far. Its just now sinking in that I actually did it. I actually had the surgery! Hard to believe after wanting it for so long! To all you new sleevers...heres to a new life and lots of love for our bodies!
  3. Shew i know i fully expect it. Gonna take a pain pill in a second...was just curious if it was worse than im thinking lol. Congrats to you too! Trying my best not to have too many expectations. As soon as i heal..ready to get active and just to live and enjoy life!
  4. Ah ok. How bad was it....having it pulled. They are pulling mine out this morning.
  5. That stinks. Are you having to bandage it up constantly?
  6. Glad you are feeling good! I just started taking gas x today...how often did you take it and for about how long?
  7. Man that is something to look forward to! Thank you for the info and im glad you are feeling better. Im SO ready to feel normal again.
  8. Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. Spoke with my doc and he said to drink way more fluids than ive been drinking and to walk a lot. I knew that but the pain meds have been making me very sleepy. I might get my drainage tube out tomorrow instead of friday. I feel that the tube is one thing holding me back a bit...i HATE it. Im getting bored out of my mind staying at home...mom is taking me to the mall today. Other than smelling lots of food, im pumped to get out. I am having less and less pain where my stomach was removed...mostly horrible gas pain. Doc said the more i walk the better i feel. I have an office job so it shouldnt be a huge deal...i just dont want to be in pain the whole time and pop pain meds all day.
  9. Hello...this isnt all horrible but i am feeling quite unmotivated and painful today. I am 5 days post op and I am feeling abdolutely dreadful. I find myself very worried that I will still be feeling this way on Monday (which is when I must return to work). My worst complaint right now is the stomach pressure (gas, I suppose)...it hurts soo much. I also feel like it may be pain from those lovenox shots that prevent blood clots. The worst parts of the day are the mornings and when Ive sat too long. I am getting at least 60 grams of Protein a day in and quite a bit of liquid...so that isnt an issue. I also feel sometimes that heart is beating out of my chest (like after you get out of a long hot bath). Everyone is saying that they feel better each day. At first I thought i was recovering pretty quickly..but now Im getting worried. I may be impatient...im just used to this much pain and i really need some support/advice from the other POST ops out there. Thanks fo reading my post.
  10. I am feeling the exact same way right now. I am 4 days post op but am commited to only liquids for 2 weeks. But i am thirsty and can really take in the liquid! Anyone else been through this and if do...how are you doing now?
  11. I am 4 days post op and i need to find other people who have been sleeved here. Please let me know!
  12. Your welcome Erica:-) The inly surgery I had before this was a tonsilectomy. This was pretty new for me as well. It's painfull...not going to lie. But the real intense pain didnt last very long. I am now 4 days post op and my only real complaint is gas pain in my left shoulder...and my back pain. It's bareable though. Biggest help for the pain in the hospital was to walk walk walk!! Helps get rid of the gas pressure and really helps you heal quicker. After talking to a lot of these post op ppl...i was desperate to start walking. I started the day of my surgery and every 2 hours following. You gotta muster through the pain to do it. Also its way better to sit in a recliner or just sit up so it doesnt make standing up as painful. This info im giving you was also given to me. Its made my recovery very bareable!
  13. Do a TON of research! Find a protein shake that you really like and get prepared with your vitamins, how much protein you need to consume, and your liquids. Have everything ready. Get accustomed to your protein shakes way BEFORE your surgery date. Be ahead of the game. Expect it to be painful...but be optimistic. I am 3 days post op and my biggest complaint is gas pain in my left shoulder. Write in a journal...prepare to be hungry...because this surgery isn't going to take that away completely. It's an aide. I am reading a book now about how to control emotional hunger. Just be as prepared as possible...talk to people frequently who had the surgery. I feel that i am a step ahead because i did this. If you want a support buddy...im here!
  14. Congrats! I also did this to have a healthy pregancy in a few years...along w/other reasons. I am 3 days post op and happier than ive ever been!
  15. Fortunately, I'm not having trouble with the fluids. I am crushing up ice with water...mixing it with crystal lite and using a spoon to dip out of ice and liquid. It keeps me from sipping too fast and its more like a slushy. I love my protein shakes! Already got in my 60grams of protein for the day. I drink Premier Protein from Sams/Costco. Inexpensive and taste really good. Try different things...and always sip sip sip! I know that feeling too...stomach just churns when you consume anything too fast! Please let me know how this works out for yall!
  16. I did also. How are you foing?
  17. I don't understand why 'getting hungry' is a feeling that everyone is surprised they still have? It should definitely be suppressed, of course. All of the research I have done, I have found that most people still do get hungry. We cannot expect to have this surgery and think we will never be hungry again. I am fully expecting it to happen...I am sure it is going to be a new challenge. I will have my surgery on March 22nd, and I have to say that reading all of this is really helpful for me in so many ways. I am really appreciative that we have this outlet when things have gone awry:)
  18. nally...someone i found getting it on the 22nd as well! My name is Kimberly...just made the decision to do the sleeve vs the lap band this past friday. Im 28 about 275...i actually am not sure now as ive not been weighing myself. The scale and I have issues...lol. So what kind of stuff are you doing to prepare??
  19. March 22nd here! Im super anxious!
