  1. Doc said can drink up to 3 min before meal but to try and wait 30-40 min after. He said the after part is most important. He said to think of a canned good...when you put two holes in it and hold it upside down it kind of bubbles and pours out slowly. Think of only one hole in the can w/ the sleeve. Only so much can fit on the stomach pouch at one time...when you try and drink Water, he said its possible that it may not go through and is more likely to cause one to puke. Sounds odd but he is the one whose been doing this forever.

  2. I am almost 4 weeks post op and am very determined to walk the straight and narrow path towards my goal weight. I know many people who litterally LOST THEIR MINDS when they started getting attention from men. Parties, drinking, and men men men. I also have a loving boyfriend who I do NOT want to stray from because I become so full of myself.

My goal is to use my newfound health to open up and grow as a woman. I am 28 and want to do things that I wasn't able to do before. I want to go backpacking again, white Water rafting, learn new skills, travel....so many things that just seem so much more appealing than drinking, partying, messing around.

I would like some input from those long-term sleevers. Please tell me how you handled all of it...what you did to prevent yourself from going down the wrong path?

    Thanks:)

  3. I get full quickly but have noooo hunger what so ever. I have to remind myself to eat. But I can eat with no problems I have 4 medium pieces of shrimp and baby sweet potatoes for dinner and a boiled egg for lunch. Yesterday I didn't eat much at all just shakes. I'm down from 243 to 218 so no complaint 3 weeks post op

Cant imagine...must be nice to not be hungry. How does that happen?! Lol. Thanks for all the feedback guys. I deff dont feel alone in all this. I cant believe i consumed 1100 calories today though...100 gram Protein. May have overdone it today.

  4. 9 days post op. I am so TIRED of hearing all these people talk about how much they dont want food...have no desire...not tempted at all by anything. I just dont get it. I do get full quickly...but i am hungry just about every 2-3 hours. When i get out in the real world...bad food teases me. However i dont give in...i am doing very well. This just seems normal even with having wls. Can some please tell me if they are having the same issues and how they are dealing with it.

I just dont get how having this surgery can just totally make a person just not want food at all????

  5. Today is the day that I start up on Purees!

Taking is sloooow' date=' with 2 very soft scrambled eggs for mini-meal 1 (chewed it a lot too). They went down slow and smooth, but I finished them all. I'm still trying to get an understanding of what "full" or "satisfied" feels like.

What are the other March 20th-ers doing for pured food and mini-meals?[/quote']

Sleeved March 22nd. I too am having trouble determining if i am full or am having hunger pains still, or if its just gas! I have never really paid attention to all that in the past...i just ate till the good was gone. Please tell me how you do. Hope i gain a better understanding soon.

  6. Thank you for the update' date=' my surgery is scheduled for Monday & I'm getting really nervous. It's good to hear that the recovery is short.[/quote']

I was super nervous too. I am still feeling excellent...but the first five days were a bit rough for me. Its all very worth it...there is light at the end of the tunnel. Found that out today!

  7. Congrats on the surgery date! I had a tough time following the preop diet. All I could think about was yhe food I would probably never get to eat again. If you're EXTREMELY heavy with a bmi over 40...they recommend it to shrink the liver so complications during surgery are less likely. Its also good to get into a routine for after surgery. I splurged...had my favorite meal and lots of it. There is nothing wrong with that...im glad i did it. Just get it out of your system as quickly as possible and set a goal and get prepared.

Also...use this time yo get used to your Protein shakes. Learn to love them. That and Water will need to be your best friends for the two weeks post op!

Good luck girl' date=' have that last supper![/quote']

Let me add that you need to get this OUT of your system well before the surgery date.

  9. I had my surgery 3/18. I am still refusing to weigh myself until my PCP appointment on Monday 4/1.

But I'm happy to report that when I put my jeans on this morning' date=' the same jeans that a few days b4 surgery were uncomfortably tight, fit me just right. Not tight. Not baggy. Just right.

I am avoiding the scale too...we do not have a very good relationship. Only weighing in once a month to start. NSVs are going to the most fullfilling ones for me!! I have a whole closet full of smaller clothes just waiting for me to wear them again!
