    having anxiety :(

Just breathe. The anxiety is normal. I was sleeved on the 5th, and had it about 2 weeks out too. Make yourself comfortable with your surgeon. Do you question his ability, do you know his bedside manner? Have you met him face to face? This was a huge calming factor for me. i wont say that I wasnt a little nervous the day of, but not like the anxiety I had. If you are worried about nausea, talk to your doctor or nurse NOW about having them prescribe a nausea medicine. My doc has all patients pick up prescribed pain killers and nausea medicine the day before surgery. We use it as needed when we leave the hospital. At the hospital, they should be giving you something through the IV. I still gagged when I sat up to do the walking, but it was caused by the movement of the gas into my lungs and I was coughing so hard to get it out. I am told this is rare. Most will burp or toot it out. so...lucky me. : / In all, it wasnt the bad because the stomach is so numbed up. I didn't feel any pain. There should be nothing in the stomach, so nothing should come up. Just breathe....

    Confrontational People

just my two cents, but lot of what we read, we read with our own inflection and I think many forget this. the person typing could be trying to calmly and rationally layout a case for their frustration, and then other users read it with yelling and screaming in mind. That being said, I know this does not apply to all cases. There is one user in this thread...maybe two...that I feel attack and belittle others for posting an opinion. I dare not call them out, because I am afraid that I am misreading their words with my own inflection, AAAAAAAND they have also made many valuable contributions to the whole forum in general.(My problem is that I do not read sarcasm as well as hearing it. :/ ) I chose to ignore what I believe to be uncalled for, and try to take from their post what I can. I appreciate these two more than I want to be mother hen to them. Another factor johnlatte hit the nail on the head! Anonymity brings courage to say what you will, and your computer screen is the wall that protects you. So yes, I have seen users say some outrageous and nasty things on this website because of that reason. putting soap box back under the couch now. thank you for letting me speak.

    Ignore user?

Oh, thank you, Jesus!!! It would kill me to know that I had offended good friends.

    Ignore user?

Ok, now even I am paranoid! I'm not getting the hints since I am out of the loop. If it was me, I sincerely apologize.

No panicking! Just sit back and enjoy the ride! LOL! You will be fine, and the hard days are few compared to the many days of healthy, happy living ahead of you. Prayers for peace for you, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  8. I was sleeved on the 5th, and also had gallbladder removed and a hiatal hernia fixed. I was feeling great yesterday, it today I just want to SLEEP! Did any one else feel like this? I am not sure if it it's the pain meds, or that I started a heavy period yesterday, or just my body wanting to heal in general. Hard to get my liquids in when I'm snoring. Lol. I am still tryin got walk as weel, but can't get very far when I start to feel light headed and faint. Did anyone feel like this?

    Pain Question

If they were prescribed for you, then yes! I have been taking mine since I left the hospital.

    So sleepy!

Thanks all. None of my paper work said anything about being tired. When I'm awake, I get liquids in pretty good. I guess body knows best! :-)

Constrictive garments and getting busy ;-)

Have you tried an underbust corset? Kinda kinky and leaves the girls exposed. Then you can put on a light weight robe or open shirt tjen can quickly be thrown clossed if needed. Also...lock the door. Lol.

I just sip, sip, sip. Constantly sipping. Mix it up between sweet flavors and savory broths. This way you don't get burned out on one thing.
  17. Have a wiggle dress that I bought about 7 years ago when I had lost weight. I was maybe one size away from getting into it. Now I'm 5 or 6 sizes away. Sleeved now, and I WILL get into that dress!

Swansons low sodium chicken broth. Only get it warm, not hot. If you can tolerate beef broth, get Swansons brand as well. I made the mistake is getting the Walmart brand and it was NASTY. The chicken broth is rather soothing on the abdominal pain.

    June 2013 Sleevers GROUP

I was sleeved on the 5th as well. I am having trouble with trapped gas, especially after each swallow! I am sipping and plugging my nose, trying not to take in air. Getting fluids in ok, but Isopure makes me throw up. Too sweet! My abdomen is still pretty sore, especially around the incisions.but it's not too bad. Sat not was my first night of a good sleep.
  20. I am two days post op. I am sipping on my liquids, not using a straw. I wait until the liquid hits my lips before drawing in. However, I still have air in my tummy after swallowing. I always have to wait for the gurgle to come up before taking another sip. It's uncomfortable and stinks. Any advice?
