I am 7 months out and this is my experience. I worked out prior to my surgery. For about 5 month....I did a lot of muscle building and cardio using bodybuilding.com. I have alot of muscle now and I do not have excess skin except on my stomach and it is not much. You can see my muscle now....I continue to build muscle now since my surgery so I havent lost muscle tone....I have lost more fat. I have lost almost 90lbs I think 88 to be exact. My surgeon said it because I built up so much before my surgery. I dont look like a bodybuilder though. I look feminine.

There must be something wrong with me. Everyone else's is losing so much quicker than I am. I've only lost 39lb since may 7z. And yes I'm doing all the right stuff. I just want it to work so bad and I get so disheartened when I see everyone's great success stories when it's not happen ending for me.
Sorry about the whine I am really depressed about it.
Sorry thay you are dpressed about this. If you would like to chat about it we can. It may just be your body but believe me your body will lose what it needs lose. 39lbs is a lot of weight in 4 months. That is about 10 lbs per month....Just keep doing what you are doing. I dont know if you work out at all but weightlifting/strength training really helped me start pulling of the pounds.

I was on my first. I have progressed to soft foods per my doctor. It going good. Everyday I try something new. No pain, no soreness. I walked 3 miles today. The longest I've walked since before my sleeve. I've also had no complications

My surgeon told me at first when you first get on regular foods no wild game because it will make you sick an its harder to digest.

When I got those hiccups feelings like belches, I walked.

Mine stay for about 4 day. I walked several times per day . It helped. I also did light stretches to work the gas around. Walk and stretch...especially when it was in my shoulders back and chest.....I had horrible gas. Almost unbearable.

How are all the Vanderbilt sleevers doing?

I can understand that. I work with a pretty close group and all we do is eat. Before the surgery they really helped me out and helped me get focused. I hope they will continue to help me focus.

My docs diet is so different than what I see every one else have. Only on day of liquid diet-preop. Then one day of Clear Liquids in hospital. When I came out, I was allowed puréed foods. Then after one week I go to a soft food diet. I wonder why every bodies is different. I went to Vanderbilt Hospital.

Hi' date=' Eva. Sorry I am not able to answer your question, since I haven't done a whole lot of research long-term outlook...for me, this surgery is sort of my last resort, and I feel much more certain of what my long-term consequences would likely be if I don't get my weight and diabetes under controlmy surgery is tomorrow morning, and I am very nervous right now...I think all I still need to do is pack a few things for the overnight hospital stay...my fellow May 6 sleevers: how are y'all doing?[/quote']
Hey how are you doing? You will do fine. I am only five days post op and I feel great... Just keep positive about it and remember its a life style change. I was nervouse too. I was scared of going under...turns out. I didn't even know I was under....lol
