    so annoyed!

Oh man, that really sucks! I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time getting the surgery, just keep at it, you will get there! It is so worth the effort. I've lost a little over 40lbs and yesterday i was carrying a bag of water softener salt ( 40lbs) OMG! that is a LOT of weight! When you just say the words it's like, yeah ok great. But then you actually lift that amount, and WOW! I don't know how i even walked before! Hang in there!!
  2. yeah, i've deffinatly felt that way at times, and up until recently i've felt like the fattest one in my little neighborhood ( i live in a town house, and the row across from my house, we are all friends.) But the weight is coming off and i've actually felt skinny a few times, even though i'm still far from it. But it's nice, i haven't been this weight since my early 20's! It's so very nice to see that scale number getting smaller and smaller. Good luck on your surgery!!!!
  3. Welcome and congrats on making the decision to be a healthier you!! Make sure you search through the forums when you have questions, as most have been asked many times over, but we will still answer again if you ask . This site is great for information and for support, it has helped me so many times that i can't count!! Good luck on the rest of your liquid diet, and on your upcoming surgery. Let us know how it goes!!!!!

    want yoghurt so bad!

I started on full liquid diet as soon as i left the hospital and did just fine. While you should follow your doctors instructions, i don't think you would hurt anything if you tried some yogurt. Just be sure to do it really slowly, take a bite let it set for several min etc..

    I Want a Date Too!

I hope you get your date. I didn't get mine until Insurance had approved .Good luck!!
  6. with the mashed potatoes add a little bit of unflavored Protein powder to them, so that you are getting some nutritional value out of them. That is what i did, i also added some cheese for flavor and added protein. I did the same with the cream of wheat ( except the cheese part). Also cocoa wheats are good, and help with the chocolate craving, i would add a little honey for sweetness. try some black bean soup as well!
  7. Sorry but to answer your question, nope it wont. The only way to "cure" your food addiction is through therapy and counseling. The sleeve will only prevent you from eating large quantities at a time as your stomach is much smaller. There are also slider foods, that you can eat a lot of, so there are ways of eating around the sleeve as well. Unfortunately it doesn't solve the mental issues of compulsive eating.

How do you know if you have Sleep Apnea?

I agree with the other posters. The only way to get diagnosed is to have a sleep study done. Go see you PCP and talk to them about referring you and they can help you get it all set up.

    Today!

That is incredible, so happy for you! I've been stuck in another stall for about 3 weeks now, i'm ready for it to end and to watch the scale drop some more!

    Totally Blew It....

I have also noticed that when i hit my stalls if i eat some bad things, one time i had some pizza, that it ends my stall faster. Now like others, i don't recommend doing this, and it's not something i practice regularly. Usually i just try to up my intake of good foods, i usually end up feeling like all i've done is eat ( healthy foods mind you), and then my stall ends. But man frosting sure sounds amazing!
  12. i'm no fitness guru, but i would think that a quality carb would be one in which the food provides other important nutrition, such as whole grains. Maybe i'm wrong though, i would also like to know what others have to say on this topic.
  13. Each day does get better, then you'll have a few bad days again, but then it steadily gets better. Hang in there!! Remember, It's always darkest before the dawn!

    Cream soup... help?

try something else instead, like greek yogurt, Cottage cheese ( was considered a full liquid for me) or re-fried beans. Give your tummy a few days then try the soup again. It may be you just don't tolerate it. I ate cream soups twice and i never want to eat another one again. Good luck!!
  15. 45lbs in 3 months! That's flipping awesome! Honestly whens the last time you lost 43 lbs in 3 months??? I'm 3 months out and i've only lost 41, yet i'm thrilled as heck with that! You still have a lot longer to go before you stop losing. Everyone loses weight at different speeds, so don't compare yourself to others, you are not them. You are doing amazing!!!

    Sick

after 6 months out ibuprofen is fine to take in moderation. but i'm not really sure as far as cold symptoms go. Call your doc to be sure.
  17. there is not enough room in your new stomach for food and liquid. When you are eating you need to get in as much nutrition as possible, if you drink while eating, you don't have enough room for the food and can end up not getting in the ammounts of protein etc that you need for a healthy recovery and weight loss.

    Too full! NEED ADVICE!

It takes a while to learn to slow down, i mean, think about it all our lives we've been taught to hurry up and eat; now the slower the better. Set a timer, allow 2 min between each bite. It's a bit of a pain at first, but eventually it will become second nature to you.
  19. That is awesome!! Congrats to you!!!

    Popsicles not sugar free

What happens? Well the sun crashes to the earth, it's starts to rain cats and dogs and you start growing feet from your head!!!.. Ok, well actually nothing happens. The Docs mostly want us to avoid processed refined sugars because it is very unhealthy, some people do not tolerate sugar at all after surgery and it makes you gain weight like nothing else known to man! However, having a little bit now and then isn't going to hurt you. Just try not to make a habit out of it. If you can't find sugar free ones, try making your own from 100% juice. The sooner you can cut the sugar addiction the better off you will be in the long run! God luck!!
  22. from things I've read, you will hit your lowest weight and then gain some back as your body works things out. And if you think you are to skinny, do strength training to build muscle, and try and increase your calories. I think people get that sickly look about them when they aren't getting proper nutrition or adequate water.

    What is my stomach doing?

    How far out are you?
  24. Totally normal, they are stalls, and everybody gets them. They can last form a few days to a month or more. It's just your bodies way of making sure that everything is ok. They happen, and they end. Don't worry about it. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and you will be just fine. During stalls though, sometimes it helps to try and up your protein intake, let your body know that everything is fine.

    Dumb question

take your time eating. when i first started on full solids, my first meal was a scrambled egg with cheese. I could only eat half the egg, and it was a very strange feeling to eat the solid food. My stomach made such noises!!! Eat it slowly, chew it well and wait a bit between bites. if you try to eat it "normal" you will probably get sick. The Cheese for most people isn't a problem at all. Good luck!
