Failure is failure. Can not complete.

    fit bit and other trackers

I have been using the fitbit flex for some time now as a Mio Alpha wireless heart rate watch. Love both. Good reference tools and both sinc with my fitness apps which I use 3 different apps. I am REALLY looking forward to the release of the Amiigo. They are coming a long way!!

What are good rest days ?

My theory is if you don't know whether you are over training or not then you aren't. I rest one day a week. Usually based on the weeks schedule and what day fits best. A lot depends on how intense my workouts have been as well. Some weeks I won't rest but only do cardio. You need to know what works. Change things up, getting good rest at night could negate an off day, at least for a while. I do however push to be sore. I feel as though if I don't ever acquire any soreness then I am not pushing as hard as I should be.
  4. Head hunger and psycho cravings start to subside. I am not hungry very often.

    New activity monitor

^^^ the fit bit flex. I like it. More of a novelty as nothing is truly that accurate unless it is GPS and I get that from my phone. I like wearing it on my wrist instead of clipped to me. I would lose it!

    Bad leg cramps - help!

This stuff is ok. Works now and again. Probably more the placebo effect. I have had severe leg cramps for years and years as most men in my family have. Gone to specialists the whole nine. Agree or disagree I will go with what I have lived through, has worked and failed regardless of hypothetical opinions. Bananas never did anything and potassium deficiency, maybe but you would need to be "deficient". Someone supplementing like this guy does is not "deficient". IMHE

    Bad leg cramps - help!

Me and a majority of the men in my family suffer from severe leg cramps. Hard work outs and humid weather do not help a bit! Quinine is on bit there is truly no cure all. The best thing I have found is something Gatorade makes. It is specifically for cramping athletes. You can get it at Dicks sporting goods. It is a small packet you mix with whatever you dare to. It honestly works though. Bananas do nothing, myth. Potassium has nothing to do with cramps. Stretching and hydration are crucial. Sadly science does not know a whole lot about cramps. One thing they do know now is that flexing the muscle during the cramp can relieve it. Crazy. I feel ya though. Get them nightly. Some real bad, some I can ignore and go back to sleep.
  8. I have considered my sleeve journey flawless so far, no issues. All the normal stuff. Rough first week, hating puréed, then the great success' with weight coming off and new eating habits but then some stalls and a shin splint when I started exercising again. Doing well though and really nothing I didn't expect or know I could possibly have to deal with.

    Today= a challenge

I guess everyone's journey is different but my restriction is so effective I don't mind having a bite or 2 of something I used to eat glutinous.
  10. I have always been a very serious mountain biker and no matter my weight I have been fast and rode/ride a lot. I just remember one time specifically 2 guys getting upset about being passed in the trail and hearing one of them say in anguish "we just got passed by a fat guy". My buddy's and I laugh about that all the time.

    NSV shout outs

Was saving some pants to try on thinking I needed to wait another 20 pounds but tried them on anyway to see where I was at and they were to big!!
  12. You lost a whole person. Good job!!

Is this normal? No weight loss

I have stalled numerous times. I am over it cause if you pay close attention your body is changing. Stay on the protein, up it if you can and drink water, drink water and then drink some water.

    Glock or M&P ?
  15. Man am I pumped. Down 60lbs since feb. 27. Training hard and getting ready for some serious mountain bike races this summer. Dropped 2 of my riding buddy's, both serious mountain bikers and the oldest one 10 years younger at the 18 mile mark today on a 28 mile ride. Finished the double loop in record time and holding my own at the ripe age of 42. Gym work outs are coming together nicely, body is changing exactly how i want it to. Love my sleeve!!! Wish I had done this years ago! No lack of energy issues here! Keep working fellow sleevers! Enjoy the journey!!!

    Building Muscle

High intensity long cardio stresses your body out which causes your body to release cortisol and retain fat.

    Whey protein powder

You will want to add another supplement to get enough BCAA and SAA.
  18. Couldn't have eaten a thing and the thought made me ill. All I wanted were ice chips.
  19. I just wish my wife and kids would stop eating my special food and stick to theirs.

    Recovering alone?

I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old and stay home with the youngest during the day, I work afternoons. There is NO WAY you can take care of them for 2 whole weeks. If you try you are only going to negate your recovery, not worth trying!!! Have yours or your moms surgery rescheduled. Seriously, don't attempt to lift, chase and take care of children. Especially your older mother. I would guess her recovery will be longer assuming everything goes well for both of you.

    only weightlifting

  22. At most gyms they have pull up/chin up/dip assist machines. Ask at the counter if you don't know what they look like. It supports some part of your lower body to take weight off the pull up. You should look to take off (assist) enough weight to allow yourself to do 3 sets of 6-8 with the 3rd set failing early. As you get stronger they will get easier and you can keep taking weight off. Also staggered arm (medicine ball or something under one hand switching back and forth) push ups will help a lot. Do them to failure 3 sets. Burpees and other crossfit exercises can help with total body fitness to get you ripping out the pull ups in no time. dedication to it is critical though and once achieved never letting it go.
