That's awesome. I'm stalling right down
Probably would help if I could force myself to drink more fluids. Boo

You look great! What are your secrets?
What is a typical day like for you? Do you log on my fitness pal?

My nutritionist provided the following guideline -
A diet consisting of 600-800 calories, 70-75 grams of Protein, 40-60 grams of carbs and 20-30 grams
of fat should be the goal for the first 6 months.

do a quick ketosis diet and you will get there! Good Luck and congratulations on all that weight lost forever!
Is quick ketosis like a low carb diet?

You might also try supplementing with shakes. I have at least 2 daily and a 3rd if it is a running day. shake is perfect in the morning as 1st me and good for last meal at bedtime to help prevent muscles from breaking down at night and to keep metabolism going. 3rd shake is for after running for recovery purpose. Right there that is 75 g of Protein. I eat approximately 25 g of dense Protein for other 3 meals so add another 75 g. Total daily protein take is 150 g.
What I have read is it is good to consume 1 g protein for every lb in body weight. Applies to athlete types of active lifters. Total of 150 g means I still have 30 g to eat to match 180 g weight. Can someone confirm this statement of 1 g protein per 1 lb weight is accurate?
Try Paleo eating. It may be just what you need! Good luck.
Do you mix your shakes with almond milk, coconut milk, or Water? I'm glad I found this thread. Yesterday I was thinking about Paleo and borrowed The Paleo Diet Solution from the library. I am only 15 days post op, so I probably can't start Paleo yet.

Surgery 4/1. I lost 14 pounds during the first week. The second week I really didn't lose anything. I think I'm stalling since I started full liquids.< /p>

I cannot do soft/pureed foods until 4/21. I also seemed to be stalling. I am going to try to increase my liquids. I still drink so, so slow. I have lost 14 pounds. What kind of foods are you eating?

I start full liquids today, so that's exciting. I am feeling really well though. I get out and walk every now and then. I can't wait to do strength training though. I don't want any loose skin!!

How are you cleaning your drain incision? I am 9 days out.
Thanks!

Hello! I got sleeved on 4/1/13 by Dr Aceves. I actually went alone though. There is a cafeteria at the hospital. As well as a 7-11 type convenience store a block away and a huge mall 4 blocks away. Everywhere takes USD dollars. You will get a private room with a shower, so your family member/friend would use it. The hospital does have Wi-Fi. There was a small period of hours in which it wasn't working that great. They have a lot of things that you may forget including slippers and heating pad. They give you a cute toiletry kit that includes a toothbrush, soap, Shampoo, etc... There wasn't one thing that I needed that I didn't have. There is a slight language barrier especially with the night time nurses since the patient coordinators aren't present; however, you can point to the phrase on your sheet OR use babelfish or something else on your cell phone/Wi-Fi that will translate from English to Spanish. I was pleased with Dr. Aceves as he checked in with me personally on average 3 times a day. He is personable. If you feel like you have a question on need something explained, don't hesitate to ask until it is clarified. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I am going to try not to obsess with the scale either... try being the operative word. Why did you follow up with your PCP? Was that mainly to get your heart checked out?

How was you experience with Dr. Aceves?
I had a good experience with Dr Aceves. Like you said, Dr Campos is handsome. The doctors and coordinators speak English well, but not the nurses. That was difficult at night. I used my handy useful phrases sheet as well as babel fish to translate online. After the drain came out, most of the discomfort did as well.
How long did you wait before weighing yourself for the first time?

I fly home tomorrow from San Diego, so I'm happy to see this thread.
Serendipity - I wish I could drink like that. My baby sips aren't amounting to anything.
-
Amanda - I leave Mexicali tomorrow.
Coleman - I'm too afraid to even try to gulp!

I just got sleeved on 4/1. Thanks for posting some of your experiences!

Thanks for the tip Sarah. It is harder to keep taking sips than it should be. I keep thinking of all the sensations I feel.
