  1. I will be 3 weeks post-op on Tuesday and I get hungry too. I get full quickly, can only eat about 8-10 bites but find myself hungry in a few hours. I have really been making great healthy choice but I am in the soft food stage right now and counting calories and I am getting in about 830/day. My NUT said I should be taking in between 6-800 calories so I am even over my calorie range but I find I do better if I eat every few hours. I hope it gets better with time.
  2. 40 lbs?? That's awesome! May I ask what your starting weight was??
  3. I am 2 weeks post-op and eating soft/puree foods. I am wondering how many calories everyone is eating per day, how many ounces or cups and how far out from surgery are you? I am afraid I am eating too much.
  4. I am two weeks post-op and eating soft/pureed foods. Initially, I was eating too fast and too much. Today, my 3rd day on foods I ate 1.5 oz of chicken salad with 5 townhouse crackers for lunch and I was definitely satisfied. I just about didn't get the last few bites down because the pressure started building in my chest which is a sign to me that I need to stop. Definitely slow down, time yourself if you need too. It took me about 30 minutes to eat that. I have an app on my Iphone that tells me when to take a bite every minute to minute 1/2.
  5. How's your weight loss?? So as soon as I feel this start I should quit eating?? Is this like my "cue" that I am done??
  6. I was just sleeved on the 12th and have started eating soft foods. I find myself eating too fast and too much. I only had a 2.2 lb weight loss for my 2nd week post-surgery (lost 8 lbs the first week). I am so afraid that I am not going to be successful and I am just feeling afraid. Anyone got any suggestions??
  7. I have just started soft foods (sleeved on the 12th) and everytime I eat I get this major uncomfortable fullness in my esophagus, like food won't go up or down. Anyone had this and what is it????
  8. While in this puree/soft food stage, how much should I be eating as far as weighing out my food? Then when I start eating normal, how much should I be weighing out at a sitting? This is not something that I was told by my NUT. Any suggestions on how much so I DON'T overeat and can feel satisfied??
  9. I know I did eat them too fast. I was so excited about having them. I think that is the reason for the "fullness" in my chest. I didn't feel full in my sleeve at all but I don't think it had time to process with my brain because I did eat them fast. I hope I didn't mess anything up! What do you guys think???
  10. Hi Everyone! I was sleeved on the 12th also. I was 275 prior to surgery, lost down to 242 when I weighed on the day of surgery and my first week post-op I was down to 237. I gained 3 lbs in the hospital (probably from fluids) so really I lost 8 lbs in my first week. My next weigh in is on Tuesday which will be two weeks since surgery. I also went thru the "HUNGRY" feelings. This started on post-op day 4 and went thru day 10. It was terrible. I also wanted to cry, would just go to the grocery store (once) and walked around and felt very depressed. I guess this was my mourning. I am supposed to start my puree/soft diet on Tuesday but today I did eat 4 halves (equivalent to 2 whole eggs) of deviled eggs. It hurt so bad, not in my sleeve, but in my chest as I ate them. I know I ate them fast. I was so excited about having them. I have had some mashed potatoes and about 10 bites of spaghetti mashed up w/ sauce and I tolerated these well. Is that a lot of food for the deviled eggs? I ate them about 20-30 minutes ago and my chest still feels very full. I don't think I messed anything up. I just think I ate too fast and maybe too many. Any thoughts??
  11. Today I decided to make deviled eggs, something for the soft/puree stage. I ate 4 deviled egg halves (the equivalent of 2 whole eggs). Is this a lot? I didn't feel so much "full" but I had such a fullness, hurting in my chest that I stopped. Anyone got any comments??
  12. Also Bamagirl 32 I am getting in between 52-90 g of protein, increasing more and more everyday.
  13. Thank you so much for the encouragement Bamagirl32. I hope and pray day #7 (tomorrow) is better. I just don't understand being so hungry.
  14. I was sleeved on March 12th. Going back to work tomorrow after one week. No more soreness, no nausea, incisions are itching so I know they are healing. No issue with getting all my fluids/protein in. Only issue I am having is I am HUNGRY. How the heck does this happen? This started on post op day 4.
  15. You are not the only one! I am 6 days post op and the hunger started for me on post op day 4. I called my nutritionist. She suggested oatmeal thinned with skim milk. I haven't tried it yet. I don't understand why I am hungry too. I am very disappointed.
  16. I am chewing on popsicles and taking my antacid Nexium medicine. I am getting in plenty of protein and fluid intake daily but I am still so dang hungry. I just don't understand. My sister and I had this surgery the same day and she is not hungry and it is all she can do to get her fluids down. I am just so disappointed.
  17. I also wonder about how will I know when I am full. I am 5 days post-op and ate 2 tbsp of pudding. I was able to eat it all. That worries me. Did I eat too much? It is also hard to tell with all the gas pain. Who knows if I am having gas pain or I am full??
  18. I am 5 days post-op and I am hungry. Yesterday was really bad. Today is not terrible. I do wonder if it is head hunger. Yesterday I felt like I was obsessing about food. Today, I have tried to do other things to keep my mind off of food. I hope and pray that I am NOT hungry and it really is just in my head. This is hard.
  19. So I had surgery on Tuesday, March 12th, and this is post-op day #4. I am hungry too. Like my stomach feels empty. I didn't have any feeling to eat the first few days. Yesterday I started feeling hungry and it has been really bad today. Anyone know why??
  20. How many days post op are u onelessfatgurl? I am not having a hard time getting at least 48 oz of fluids in. Is this normal? My sis had it done too and is not getting that much fluids in.
  21. I am day 4 post op. I am so tired and very weak if I try to do anything. Even taking a shower whips me. I am getting in about 48 oz of full liquids. Still having gas pains. Anyone else feeling this way??
  22. Schavez I feel the same as u. I got sleeved March 12th so I am post op day 2. Lots of gas and bubbling. Can't tell when I am full or not. Don't know if it is cause of the gas. Had a protein shake, broth and some water today. A little pudding too.
  23. I am 2 days post op. I have a lot of gas today. I have been drinking a protein shake, broth and some water. With the gas pains it is hard for me to be able to tell when I am drinking too fast as I can't tell the difference between which pain is which???
  24. Thanks to everyone. I lost 33 lbs pre-op. excited to see the rest go too!!
  25. Today is my first day post-op. No nausea, mild to moderate discomfort. It's not painful. Just uncomfortable. Prayers have been answered. God is so good.
