thats the plan my doctor has plus ultra sounds everyday in the hospital
-
call your surgeon now it could be a blood clot, there usually in the legs but can be in the arm
don't take any chances
best to check and see whats happening
it probably is nothing but check it out now
-
you may not be eating enough fat you need to eat some or you will get dry skin and other health problems
-
good for you, but you made much to much usually a new sleeve can only hold 2-3 oz (1/4 cup) your better off eating less that it can hold unless your doctor tells you otherwise, I know it does not look like much but you have to get used to your new normal portion
remember eat very slow and chew it till its mush
remember your sleeve is trying to tell you you ate enough so lisson to it

I hate when I go to 3 doctors one after the other and the numbers are way different, on a empty stomach, wearing the same cloths
I am pre op and go to the nut monthly and only count her scale ( its a big monster sized thing 5' x 5')my home scale died
sometimes if the batteries are weak you will get all different numbers
the best scale you can get are the old fashion doctors scales with the sliding weights
-
good thing they caught it , shore you will be fine and after you are well, your insurance should pay for plastics for a nice new set the size you want
make shore you eat right have all your doctors talk to each other so that they know your needs
heal fast

my doctor says no tobacco at all in any form, he even does a blood test to see if you are cheating, my insurance company also will not pay if you smoke or drink
-
hoping for the end of may or June need 1 more dietion meeting and 2 classes and a few tests before surgery
-
sorry to say but your not ready for the sleeve yet , first you need to get to a good therapist to work on your eating disorder and see your surgeon about adjusting your band , your band did not fail you , there are no health problems from your band , you need to learn to work your tool , the sleeve is just a different tool and if you can't work your band the sleeve will fail also
the ds might be a better choose for you when you are ready for a revision, but till you can get your eating under some kind of control none of them will work
your hubby does not think you need to lose weigh maybe he is right , you have not said what your weight is so we don't know , I have seen girls
that weigh 65 lbs think they need to lose weight and yes there are some real crappy doctors out there that will do the surgery on them for the right price
if your hubby is worried about you maybe he is right , if he is wrong prove him wrong

it may depend on where in the stomach they are , if they are on a part that gets cut out it may not matter, best take to the surgeon
-
i do it 5-6 days a week its harder than it looks
-
the first step is to find a good surgeon in your area and go to his/her free seminar,if we knew where you lived we might be able to suggest one
you will probably need a referral from your regular doctor(insist if they don't want to give you one)
the surgeon will probably require you to lose 10% of your extra weight before surgery, you may need to do a sleep study, blood work, stress test
it usually takes 6 months from when you see the surgeon till you get the surgery , it helps to go to your doctors support group if they don't have one find a different surgeon, support is very important

i don't have lupus I have lupus anti gen it is a clotting disorder, that is genetic if you have lupus you will test positive for lupus anti gen but if you test positive it dos not mean you have lupus, lupus antigen can also cause miscarriages if untreated to bad they did not know about this 30 years ago, when I could have been treated with baby aspirin and not had a bunch of unexplained miscarriages
-
6 months is a very normal amount of time to wait for this surgery, most insurance company's want you to have 6 months of nut visits, plus all the testing is to make the surgery safer, my blood test found a clotting problem that is easy for them to handle now that they know about it but would have been very dangerous if it was not known about ,It also probably was the reason I had a bunch of miscarriages 30 years ago,It was not known about then,my surgeon requires a stress test , sleep study , blood work, requires you to loss 10-12% of extra weight before surgery , this is a long processes, It takes a lifetime to complete, do it right
people that work to get the surgery , usually do better with there weight loss , than people that just pay a doctor that will take you in next week, without tests, some have no pre op diets , the best surgeons have all the testing done , so ,its safer

you need a bmi of over 35 which I seen on your profile that you do
it is easier if you have other weigh related problems diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep abnea, joint pain ect
you need to show that you tried to loss weight through diets and failed
you will need to go see the diettion for 6 months
for more info call
Bridgette Wiley at the oregon bareatic center
(541) 222-2700 she can answer all your questions about insurance requirments
and you should go to the info seminar the have every month
I am getting the sleeve which works great with less problems than the other weight loss suregies (WLS)

I have trillium health care, I am still pre op hope to get sleeve in may or june
-
thats just them healing unless there red and puffy
-
I was told I had lupus antigen and that increased the chance of a clot during surgery about 5%
but can't find any info about it with the sleeve, doctor said it could be treated with blood thinners during surgery and for a month after and ultra sounds of my legs while in the hospital
any body else have this problem
-
the first study used patients with a very large sleeve 50 most surgeons use 32-34 now
-
most doctors say no for 5 months and then allow it, see if he can give you a non nsaid that will work, if you must have a nsaid there are drugs they can give you to prevent ulcers( not a ppi), they coat your sleeve, nsaids prevent the coating that goes on your sleeve to protect it from acid
-
Im still waiting for my sleeve but love the people at The Oregon Bariatric Center, they located at Sacred heart medical center Riverbend in Springfield Oregon, they treat you like family
still waiting to finish the 6 month dietion meetings required by my insurance,
they run great support groups and almost everyone seems to be doing great
they will answer any question you have and take there time with your needs
they are very experienced, doing the sleeve, rny, and band surgery
My surgeon
Colin MacColl, MD has a lap band so he knows what it is like to be a wls patient
hope to get my sleeve in may

I WAS TOLD BY DOCTOR NO PHONES or tablets, or other valuables, can't use the cpap right after surgery , air goes into your stomach under pressure , hospital will supply pads if you need them also tooth brush and paste, soap
they may not allow gas x or candy
the padded socks they give you are easiest to just leave on and have the nurse change every day so no slippers are needed , 2 hospital gowns work fine instead of a robe , which may get stained
best thing to bring is a loved one that will take care of you without getting on your nerves
you probably will not read much my hubby was in the hospital for 2 surgery s a week each time and only read like 4 pages, he brought 4 books with him
do not bring anything from work you will not be able to trust your judgement for a week or so ,
your job is to walk sip and rest
Newbie here and totally lost

if you go to Mexico you need to check if you pcp will help you if you have a problem, some will not if you have a Mexican surgery, you will need to find a local support group, there should be one in Brooklyn or queens , or great neck ,support is very important
It is best to use a local surgeon if that is workable , if not shop around I heard of a surgeon in new jersey for like $11,000, you would save airfare over Mexico, and it would be easier to see him as needed
If you go to Mexico, your best seeing one of the better known surgeon , there are 3-4 you always hear about , and most of there patients are happy
some people swear that the care in Mexico is better than the us
good luck
