  1. At one of my group meetings, someone said they can drink it occasionally, in very small portions. But, I think it's a no-go!
  2. I think that most people have difficulty with control... or else they wouldn't be getting it. Do you think he's trying to sway you to what he prefers? Go with your instinct.
  3. I think it's amazing that so many people suffer from this, but the doctor's don't mention it! I found walking and gas-x helps.
  4. I don't think you should sit back and wait... call them and ask to schedule it! Also, sometimes the nutritionist is booked, so call her too! It shouldn't take more than 4 weeks.... Good LUCK!!!!
  5. I don't have those... but unjury tastse great. (especially the chocolate) check it out on unjury.com
  6. Wenjea.... have you tried Unjury protein... it's good. I know you are saying you are having trouble with protein.
  7. I had that too... I kept trying to take deep breaths, and coughing... and it broke free. Keep up the faith!
  8. I stopped shopping there years ago because of the "fat tax". There clothes are so much more expensive than they should be. Try one of the regular stores like Target... sometimes they have things on sale.
  9. Hey... that's bull. I was tested, and they found moderate reflux. (NO, I didn't experience any symptoms either)... they still did my surgery. I think you should consult another doctor... ask for your files. AND RUN!!!!!
  10. I feel much better now that I backed off a bit. I'm only having liquidy food (chicken noodle pureed)... or apple sauce, but only twice a day. I think he was pushing the food too soon for me. Plus, I got gas-x and that helped.
  11. I'm sorry to hear about that. BUT, I'm glad to see that not only do you recognize that your gaining (instead of pushing it aside) you have a date to reband. Good for you. I wish you all the best. (Psst... we wouldn't have gotten banded in the first place if we could control it... so don't feel guilty!)
  12. How soon after surgery can you ride? I'm a week out, and I'd love to go!
  13. Thanks! I think the Gax-X is helping. Seeing what others are doing is a big help. I'm getting so much information in here!
  14. Thank you so much... I went out this morning and bought them. I'm going for a walk today when my husband comes home. I wish there was a phamplet with all this advice... maybe someone should write a book.... So You've Had Lap Band!
  15. Hi, I know that I'm not able to lose weight and keep it off... so I'm hoping this is a good plan for me. I just got banded last week. Just so you know, everyone makes it sound like it's a simple thing... it's not. They say there is no pain... and that's a little bit exaggerated. There is gas pain. (The incisions don't hurt much though). Make sure you take off at least a week of work. You most likely won't be able to eat for two weeks before surgery. (You should know that before, I didn't) You won't be able to lift more than 5 pounds for 2 weeks after surgery. You can't take advil. I know I still would have chosen this path if I had known... but, it would have helped in the planning. Good luck!
  16. Hi... quick question. I have really no information on what we can take as far as over the counter stuff. I've heard that gas-X helps with the pain in your shoulders and abdomen... and I was wondering if we can take that... or tums? I was told no advil. What else can we/can't we take?
  17. Hi... I have a follow up question. I have this pain too... it's also in my abdomen. Are we allowed to take Gas-X so soon after surgery? Also, how soon can you walk? (I'm a week out) Thanks!!!!!
  18. You have NO idea how much that helped. I thought there was something wrong with me. I was about to call the doctor today. When will you be going back to work. I have to go back tomorrow... and that scares me. If I can't do it... I'll schedule more off after. Thank you so much... good luck too!!!!!
  19. They always ask you to do this... it went fine. The questions were to make sure I had realistic expectations, and wasn't being pressured... also to make sure the family supported this descision. You'll be fine.
  20. I know how you feel... tons of gas pains... in my sides, and shoulders... just don't feel myself yet. HOw long till they told you that you could have mushies? My surgery was the 21st... they said 4-6 days... I'm wondering if that's too soon.
  21. Thank you. I hear everyone saying how great they are doing... and I don't feel great. I just wanted to know I'm not alone.
  22. I just got banded on the 21st... how do you all feel? (I'm not feeling well... was expecting to be great.... anyone else not up to par?)
  23. Also.. how long till you feel like yourself? I still have pain in my sides (might have done too much too soon)
  24. Do you think my doctor told me to start this too early?
  25. My doctor told me day 4-6... maybe that's why I'm not feeling well.
