  2. Hello my fellow nurses and future nurses. I'm 24 and I've been an RN for about a year and a half..and I love it! I'm in the process of getting sleeved soon..possibly late april.I have my psych evaluation for insurance approval on Tuesday this week. I'm getting very nervous..because ofcourse I find myself reading all about the complications forum. Anyone from the south texas area? I hope I won't regret this life changing decision..

Hey I was sleeved on march 20; doing great; just hang in there it will come very quick; I live in Corpus Christi

  3. Has anyone heard of being able to receive a card from your doctors saying you had bariatric surgery and you are allowed to eat from the childrens menu? When you are ready to eat that is. Someone was telling me about it and I dont want to stroll into my dr office like an idiot asking for a "special" card.

Yes u get a card so u can get a child's plate and you also get one for airport for the staples when going through security

  4. Talk of all this hysterectomy got me thinking lol maybe you need your homones checked? I had a complete hysterectomy about 11 yrs ago and that is one of the reasons that I could not lose weight plus my bad eating habits and a few other things. Are you on HRT?

I'm not on any hormones; I decided not to take them after talking to my friends (ob- gyn) they don't take them either because of long term use may cause breast cancer and I had my hyst 7 years ago and hormone free

  5. I just found this forum. This is what I need. I'm an RN and have been a Case Manager' date=' for a small hospital, since last August. Prior to that worked ICU, Nursing Home, even owned and operated a Board and Lodging Home for 5 years.

I had surgery in Mexico 11/2011. Lost 55# right away. Then started with alcohol slowly, then it turned to every night. My weight loss stalled, and gained 8# from March '12 to Feb'13. Have been dry since Feb4th. Lost 5# so far. Nice to fell normal again. I am so surprised that I had a problem with alcohol, esp. with my job and seeing the devastation that alcohol causes in peoples lives. I'm on the right track now, still get cravings but having no alcohol in the house sure helps.

I hope I can help others and we help each other on this forum. Linda[/quote']

Hang in there Linda you can do this; if you look up drinking everyday after surgery the stats are high and my friend tells because people can't eat, I'm glad you found the problem any was able to move on. Congrats keep up the good work

  6. Thanks but according to my OBGYN who performed my "Total Hysterectomy" as it was referred to by both the doctor' date=' hospital and insurance, this chart helps to explain the difference between the different types of hysterectomies. Though I do hate that this thread has become all about this since it really wasn't her original post referred to and her bleeding seems to be unrelated. That was not my intention!

And as to your chart we done refer anything as a ratical hyst and I circulate in or for hyst everyday; I know what is on the paper work because I fill it out; different places may call things different in medical field; as to my paperwork I had a total hyst and everything was removed.

  7. Sleeved 2/19' date=' down 32lbs. Yesterday, I stood and looked at myself in the mirror and I cried. I cried because I can see the contours of cheek bones. I cried because I have one roll and not two stomach rolls. I cried because I have a range of clothes in my closet from 22-14 and the 18's are almost too big. I didn't even try 16 yet. I cried because I am worth it and to have a boyfriend who doesn't compliment me because he is scared of losing the fat woman has given me confidence.[/quote']

Men are insecure and he's afraid of losing u; they don't understand what we go through; keep your head high and continue your progress and don't let anyone stop u from your goals; congrats to u keep it up
