  1. Thank you all for your insight. I guess I just have tried to go back to work too soon. I was sitting today at work for maybe an hour during an interview. When I tried to stand up, I actually couldn't do it. I had to have someone help me pull up. The pain in my left side where they removed the stomach was just unbearable. I came on home and took some pain meds. I guess I just have to hang on and it will eventually get better. I thought for sure by 2 weeks post surgery that most of the pain would be gone. Guess not!!

Do you have other medication for nausea? My doc gave me the patches to put behind my ear. You change it every 3 days. Works very well. I also have Zofran liquid, another anti nausea medicine. I had surgery on March 12th and I'm still using these meds to combat nausea.

    Sleeves march 15

My surgery was March 12 and yes, I still have pain! I have trouble getting in and out of bed or just from a sitting to standing position. The pain for me is in the area of the stomach. I have a friend who had surgery the same day and he says his pain is gone. I don't think you can compare to other people really. I think everyone heals on a different schedule. I also had a hernia repaired at the same time as the sleeve. Hang in there!!
  4. Thanks you guys! I have spoken to my physician about it. They say that everyone heals differently and for me to remember it's a major surgery and it will take a while to recover. I'll just keep walking and taking pain meds as needed until I get completely better I guess.
  5. I am 4 days post op and I still have a tremendous amount of gas in my abdomen. I have been walking around as was recommended and I also have used the GasX strips. The gas is still there. Do any of you know of any other ways to get that gas to work itself out? My whole tummy area looks swollen from the gas. Thanks for any advice you might have!

    Who Are You?

I have read on the forums for about 6 months now as I have completed all the requirements for my insurance approval. I'm 46 and have struggled with my weight my entire life. I've been able to keep it under control ~ maintaining with exercise and dieting for most of my life. I've never been thin though always carried at least 20 extra pounds. So, in 2010, I suffered an aortic dissection. After the recovery from that, my weight has ballooned. I am restricted from all cardio exercise (I used to run). I cannot lift weights ever because it causes stress to my aortic graft. I can only walk. My heart rate cannot go above 115. These restrictions have completely screwed up my ability to lose the weight and to maintain. I began to consider surgery. I read tons about it and decided that it would be the best tool I could use to get my weight under control. I am miserable being this heavy. I am hoping that the sleeve will be my miracle tool. I found out that I am approved today. That's after being denied and then the appeal went through. I'm scheduled for March 13th surgery. I'm getting a little stressed about it but overall, just want to get the surgery done and get started with my life again!!
