I'm with you, Wheetsin. Although both my parents are deceased, my 86 year old mother-in-law lives with me and will continue to do so until her death. I took care of my mom for the last years of her life, just as she and her sisters cared for my grandmother and two of my grandmother's siblings who had no children of their own. In my family, we do not warehouse our old people and call it "skilled care". I just hope that my kids feel the same way and are up for changing my diapers when I'm 90. It's not exactly the way most of us see ourselves spending our early retirement years, but you do what you have to do.

YES! I will have Cheyenne vaccinated ASAP. My DIL was diagnosed with cervical cancer at age 27. Fortunately a hysterectomy stopped it before it spread, but she had PAPs regularly and hers went from normal to cancer the OB/GYN could see with the naked eye in 18 months. I have already contacted the insurance company to see if they will pay for the vaccine. It's two shots - $165 each.

My husband has the VG band and has lost 78 pounds. And he has Type II Diabetes, so it's harder for him. He was banded Dec of 2004 - just over 2 years ago. He has 8cc of saline in his band and is pretty restricted. He can eat salad. He eats 2 poached eggs and one piece of toast for breakfast every day, but not until after he's had some hot tea or they won't go down. Meat can be an issue for him, but he eats chicken noodle soup with no problem. Anything with skin or fiber is a no-no: beans, fruit, etc. He has had 6 or 7 fills. Our doctor says the VG band is harder to "tweak". His first fill was 2cc's while mine (I have the smallest band) was only .5cc.

It's much more likely that Danielle simply lacks tact. Unfortunately, learning tactfulness takes time, maturity, and practice. Writing a Tact For Dummies handbook probably won't help. Life experiences, such as losing friends, the goodwill of co-workers, and sometimes even a job, are usually what it takes before a tactless person wakes up and embarks on a course of self-improvement. They are immature, self-centered individuals who crave attention. Unless you and Nadine are into saving people from themselves, I would avoid Danielle's company as much as possible. And for heaven's sake, don't trust her with any information you wouldn't want posted on MySpace.

I went to high school with a boy who raped a young mother, stabbed her in the eye and bit one of her nipples almost completely off. Then he left her for dead and threw her children - one and two years old - into the Trinity River. He spent 20 years in a state mental hospital, was eventually declared sane, and released back into the community. Personally, I'd feel much safer with Leslie Van Houten on the streets.

Linda Kasabian WAS accused of "murdering someone". She was indicted for both the Tate and Labianca murders. She turned State's Evidence and received immunity in exchange for her testimony. Had she not done so, she surely would have received the death penalty herself, if convicted.

Leslie Van Houten has been in prison for 37 years - almost half her life. She is far from "the worst of the worst" and may not actually have killed anyone. Mrs. LaBianca's was the only murder Van Houten was accused of. Linda Kasabian, who received immunity in exchange for her testimony, admitted to being present at both the Tate and the LaBianca murders. Van Houten was actually expected to get the lightest sentence of any of the Manson devotees, but her behavior at the trial inflamed the jury. She was the ultimate example of being your own worst enemy.

I found this remark grossly offensive. I suppose the really important part, for you, is getting paid. If your client gets the death penalty, but happens to be innocent....oh, well. Guess you could say he had a bad day, huh?

The grandmother was not injured. De Bruyn said he was arguing with Rosemary Garlock, who accused him of abusing his 7-month-old son when he swatted the boy’s diapered bottom to stop him from grabbing electrical wires. When she refused to leave, he said he shocked her on her right shoulder as she sat on the living room couch. “She yelped, because getting Tased hurts,” de Bruyn told The Columbian newspaper. De Bruyn said he had the 50,000-volt Taser X26 energy weapon to protect against burglars. He said he called authorities, saying he had a relative in his house who would not leave. De Bruyn’s stun gun was confiscated. “If I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t,” he said.

We have 4 phones on our plan, too. I chose Cingular because of the rollover minutes. I keep track online of minutes used (mostly just toward the end of the billing cycle) and turn into the prime time gestapo if it looks like they might go over by very much. Now....if you are talking new phones, I don't recommend the Razor. I have had mine replaced 3 times - that's a total of 4 pink Razors and I still have trouble with it sometimes. It locks up and you have to take the battery out and put it back in. As far as problems with your kids surfing the 'net on their phone and downloading games, graphics, etc they can block all that stuff. Just call Cingular (or whoever) and give them the numbers you don't want to have internet access, download capability, text messaging, etc. You can even block call waiting, which I did on Cheyenne's phone because she would not click back over and ended up using 2 hours of minutes while a call was on hold.
