  1. I am getting sleeved on 10/16 with Dr. Forrester at Overlook hospital and very happy to see someone who had surgery with him! Congrats to you, now I feel better. Still a little nervous, but very excited!

Congrats on your pending surgery!!! Dr. Forrester is incredibly caring, and a really top notch doc. I'm actually finishing up a nursing degree and I tend to be very picky about MD's -- he completely impressed me, and so did his office.

Overlook's bariatric unit is great too -- you will be in good hands with the nurses there... they really made me as comfortable as possible, and kept checking on me post-surgery. Keep us all posted on your surgery!!

  2. I promised myself that I would work up the confidence to post a before and after pic comparison at some point - so here goes :-)

I started at a peak weight of 265 before the surgery -- as of now, down to 192 -- 73 lbs so far... Had my sleeve done in May at Overlook Med Center in Summit -- My surgeon was Glenn Forrester from NJ Bariatric in Springfield and they have been really great.

The May pics were taken the first day post-surgery - hope this helps out some new or potential sleevers get inspired... I havent regretted my decision once...it has made a tremendous positive impact in my life.

  3. These lists are great - I'm just about 2 months out and struggling for new ideas....

For me, here's what I keep around:

liquid egg whites/beaters to make mini frittatas with

    Greek yogurts (love chobani's flavors)

Boar's Head super thin sliced chicken, turkey & cheese

Perdue chicken tenderloin packs (you get 3-4 in each pack, and 4 packs to the bag....works great for you to use different marinades or spices on em, then grill them up)

Mio & Crystal Light liquids (i get bored with the taste of plain water)

Chike espresso Protein (gotta have my caffeine)

costco frozen veggie mix (5 lb bag of broccoli carrots and cauliflower...yummy stuff and cheap!)

And of course lots and lots of seasonings.....

Sriracha, Ponzu sauce, low carb Teriyaki, Old Bay cajun spice, Hoisin sauce, etc

  4. Sleeved on May 20th, just got cleared for all foods a couple days ago...

Ate tuna sashimi for lunch yesterday - super thin slices, chewed really well ... Went down very easy and no problems...

Last night for dinner - got to go to Chipotle and order a side portion of just chicken...took it home and blenderized it in my Ninja - ate it slow, and had no problems at all

This morning, quaker quick oats oatmeal with some skim and splenda for Breakfast
