  1. I am trying to figure it out too. I was on board until I realized there is no way I can figure to edit or delete the posts I have made. This is clearly not right.

  6. So, I am 49 and 1/2. Which group should I be in----"forties" or "fifties" Hmmm...interesting. I am holding on to my forties with my fingernails. I will go "gray" "old" whatever--KICKING and SCREAMING!
  7. Be encouraged. I am 14 days out and just 4-7 days ago, I felt the same way. Today is my first purée day. It gets better.
  8. Lifer, I totally understand. There;s a real "disconnect" with people sometimes on this issue when they know nothing about it, so not saying anything certainly makes it easier.
  9. I think that's great tannak! that must be tough, living with a bad thing that happened in your family in a completely different time. It's amazing how conclusions are drawn with misinformation or partial information. I am SO glad you have a close support person. That is the BEST!
  10. BRAVO rdt210!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. newat52, I agree being private with no strings" seems to be too much to ask these days. It's amazing how much different the world looks already
  12. Fiddleman, you are right indeed. Things have to change What I love about the VS is that it becomes a built-ini "babysitter" for me. You can't do the wrong thing.
  13. dannyelleb, no way to keep it private--that's the truth. thx for sharing.
  14. Hii tb21872, regaining control of your life is an amazing empowering feeling. thx for writing
  15. I kept it a secret. I had hernia surgery, so that was the word Told my husband and my assistant in my business
  16. I'm 5'6" (I've shrunk and inch), started at 222 lbs (size 18) (had been up to 253/size22/24W) Now, 4 days post op, 2 days out of the hospital I am down to 211.4 lbs. Have no idea of size---still wearing as baggy as possible.
  17. Thanks Vogue and proudgrammy! it is the best to receive encouragement here! and btw, way to go "ProudGrammy" helping out the newbie who got her "head chopped off" for asking a question that was probably "already covered" in some thread. Seriously. You "did good" That was one of the first things I saw and I wasn't t certain that this forum was the safe place for dialogue I had imagined. Nice save!
  18. I'm Almost 50. I've been Heavy since 2003. Obese since 2003. The years between 2003 and 2013 were Mixed with periods of overweight, weight loss with Atkins diet, then weight gain to morbidly obese, at 253 pounds. Then, weight loss again to achieve overweight status with b-12 shots and appetite suppressants to now---once again--- obese. Battle-battle-battle Obesity is in my family as well as diabetes & heart disease. I lost my father this past April to heart disease. I have high blood pressure & I am borderline diabetic, now I have new severe back pain and ailments coming out of seemingly nowhere. But, the "nowhere" is bad health and it finally got my attention. Researched options including lap-bands in 2012 Sleeved 2/25/2013 The rest of the story...will be Great Success (and I will keep you posted) through the support of my family, consideration of my clients and support from forums like Vertical Sleeve Talk. We were born into a community because we all need each other. I LOVE what I do. I am a Licensed TX Broker & Realtor and I am the happiest girl in the world. I am ready to give more to my community and really live life to the fullest. I am very grateful for this opportunity and do not intend to squander it My life goals: To Breathe life where ever I go. To Give the gift of encouragement. To live with incredible passion so that "Life itself" continues to be THE most amazing lover I've ever had ! (Copyright)

  22. So, it's ok to miss McDonalds fries. Cool.
  23. Hi drea Good question. This is so new for me. I was just "sleeved" (is how I am reading to refer to the procedure) this past Monday 2/25/13. I didn't have to do a pre-op diet except for 1day. The reason I was told was BMI at 37 & not BMI over 40. I am hoping this is a good and safe place to learn and share. Thanks for sharing your question
