When I went home from the hospital' date=' I had horrible pain in my lower arms. I hadn't needed any of my pain meds at all, until I felt this pain. It was so uncomfortable that I had to take the pain meds to make it go away. Luckily, it only lasted for two days. When I told my doctor about it, he was really surprised by it and thought it was strange, but didn't really make a big deal about it (probably because it was gone). Not sure if that's what you are feeling or not, but thought I'd share.[/quote']I had the same pain in my arms and it was from the IV and where they had drawn blood. It also didnt help that I had been using my arms to pull and push myself up when getting out of bed. It only lasted 2 days.

I felt hungry quite a bit during the clear and full liquid stage but I have just moved into puree's and there is a major difference. I feel full (really full) with only 2oz and I stay full much longer.

What a great idea! I wish I weren't so tall or I would grab up some of your pants!

I am self pay. Surgery date is 3/25... from start to surgery date will be about 6 weeks. I was able to meet with my surgeon and complete all the pre-op testing he required (ekg, full metabolic panel, blood count, psych eval in a little over a week. Then I just had to schedule a visit with my surgeon again and get scheduled. Good luck!
Working out

This is a great question! I joined a gym yesterday and decided to contact my surgeon's office to find out when it would be ok. They told me to wait 6-8 weeks before doing anything other than cardio. Light cardio would be ok after 2 weeks post op. They said when I do start working with weights to ease into it and to try not to do any contorted moves right away (yoga). If you do notice any pain at your incision sites to wait another week before exercising. I am five weeks post op and I will be starting with aqua aerobics and then at my eight week mark I will introduce weight machines. Every doctor is different on when they will tell you it is ok to start working out. I want to error on the side of caution where my incisions are concerned. Good luck to you!
