  1. My dr didn't want me to have the glucose drink, because high sugars make me go to the bathroom within 10-15 mins!! They had me do a regular glocuse serium screen... Didn't eat or drink anything just took blood... but found out now that I can hardle eat/drink I am hypoglycemic (not diabiates)... if I don't have some type of sugar... then I am constantly dizzy, about to faint. Most OBGYN don't have much knowledge on pregnancy and WLS... I would suggest they recommend a high risk dr to see so he/she can advice them what needs to be done. My OBGYN recommended a high risk dr when I was 10 weeks pregnant.... HE was very helpful, and sent over information to my normal OBGYN and what needs to be done. I see my dr now every 3-4 weeks with ultrasounds. (10 months post op/ 20 weeks pregnant)

  2. Here is my story: I met my fiance a month and half before my surgery. My surgery was private other than my father/ mother/ and sister in law knowing. At first I didn't know if the relationship was going to be serious or not, but we went out on dates... dinner being one of them.. they see how you eat. THAT is going to change, HE will have questions.. I didn't tell him at first because I didn't want him to judge me at all, and didn't want him telling anyone. Then we started having sex. HE sees my body, he sees every mark, and then I think WTF is going to happen if this gets even more serious... It starts to eat at you!! I saw it this way, do I see a future with this man? Do I see this being something that lasts? YES... so after one of my dr appointments he asked why I was going to the dr so much and I told him. HE smiled and said he supported every choice that I made, and it wasn't his secret to tell. And it has been that way since. You really need to think about where your relationship with the guy is going to go... if you see it going further and serious... be honest. He is going to have to help you with your adjustments as well, and can be more understanding of your changes.

  3. Get rid of the scale! When I had surgery I was on the scale 24/7. I stopped going on the scale because it was making me depressed and I only started going on the scale once a week and after the first 3 months I would only go on once a month! You are losing, that is something to be proud of and happy about. Before surgery we weren't able to lose... we would gain. As long as you are losing ... slow or fast... YOU ARE LOSING! Your body also needs to adjust to this big mix up. It is used to food all the time. It will catch up to you... stay positive!

  4. I should of worked out more, but I would play volleyball and softball once I was cleared to work out. I lost slow, but I saw that as a good thing. I saw it .. as long as I was losing... this was a positive. The first few weeks of eating were hard. I notice I lose more when I eat a little more. I am constantly in a "starvation mode" REGARDLESS of how much I eat. Since becoming pregnant I eat every 2-3 hours. Not a lot but for some reason now that I am eating more I am losing better, good for me but the dr aren't happy about it bc of the baby/ The baby is healthy though and I am just monitored a lot more.

  5. Since most of the post are from 2011, I will tell my story. I had PCOS since I was 13 years old. I would get a period every few months, sometimes a few months in a row, and then sometimes I would bleed for a whole month (the dr would put me on a pill to stop the bleeding). When I turned 19, somehow I got pregnant. I had a very complicated pregnancy, high risk, antiM in my blood, low amniotic fluids around my daughter, and was induced early. A few years later I tried to have another child, and was unable to. My periods were the same, once every 4 -5 months, then bleeding for a whole month. The gyn told me I wouldn't be able to have any children anymore because my PCOS and thyroid was extremely bad. BROKE MY HEART! I thought about all the way I could try and have another child regardless of what the gyn said... finally I figured surgery may help, not only help me health wise, but help me have a child as well. I had my surgery (sleeve) on August 15, 2013 HW: 272 SW: 255, right after my surgery LITERALLY that weekend, my period started. And the became on point every month and 2 days following. Cramps were back! Bleeding normally was back! This past Feb, my fiance and I (now 27) found out that I was pregnant! My GYN/OBGYN said that since surgery my PCOS is gone, and I was ovulating normally. Currently today, I will be 16 weeks pregnant in 2 days, and I am 9 months post op tomorrow. My CW is 180, and I am still losing weight, I have yet to gain a lb... which is not what I am going for, but for some reason my belly is growing and everything else is shrinking! I am high risk again. They put me on high risk because of surgery, I still have this stupid antiM in my blood, and just incase of low fluids around the baby, although everything seems to be going great. Also, this pregnancy has been completely different than my first. I don't know if it is because I have a smaller stomach, I eat differently, gender difference who knows. This pregnancy has been extremely easy. Hardly any morning sickness, just very sleepy and I have to eat more often. But hope this helps you ladies. I know prior to surgery I was looking for answers as well.

  6. They want me to get a sleep study done now, which I didn't need before.. and I am losing weight on my own so not 100% sure. The dr they suggested wanted me to wait 2 months for an appointment, I said no thanks and called a different dr. I have to get one more test done for my PCOS. July 3rd I go back to Dr. N's office. July 12th is my Preop class and he said 2 weeks from then will be my date. I have been seeing Dr. N since last August.. just feels like surgery is never happening. UHHHHH -_-

  7. Horrible... not as I wanted. In the begining it was perfect.. setting my date and my preop class for next week... THEN boom oh well we need you to do one more test, THEN the nurse was like well now she has to wait until next month for the Preop class. Now I won't be sleeved till the end of July. Hope your appointment was better?
