  1. The OP is from June, but here is a link to the many support groups in the DFW area http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/89017-dfw-area-weight-loss-surgery-support-groups-list/ Online support here at VST is nice but it can't compare to meeting in-person with your fellow sleevers!
  2. Yes and as long as you continue doing what your surgeon says it will be temporary.
  3. I've not tried the fruit punch but I buy the chocolate regularly and have it every morning. It tastes fantastic, with either skim milk or water. It is the best tasting chocolate of all the different powders and RTDs I've tried. Yes it can be pricey and you have to be careful with the sizes (that bigger size tub might seem like a good deal but compare the weight to the size smaller). I think GNC might have a return policy if you don't like it, ask your store to be sure.
  4. I have to believe that if you've run a handful of 5ks that you know how to train for any distance you want to run. I will ask you this: are you hydrating properly when you're training. My surgeon told me to take a 32oz bottle of Fluid with me to the gym every time I go and make sure it's empty by the time I leave (I have little or no problem accomplishing this doing the 5ks I do when I'm on the treadmill). Also, are you still taking your Vitamins and getting proper Protein? There are people here WAY more versed at fitness training than I am and I'm sure they'll be along shortly. In the meantime, let's look at my questions to you.
  5. That sweet baby in your arms deserves the best you also!
  6. Welcome to Onederland! I'm hoping to become a citizen of Twoville in the VERY near future!
  7. It's gonna double suck if you don't address this today. I had that two-week liquid-only preop diet like many people around here and while it was the roughest part of the journey for me so far it is the thing for which i am most grateful. Once your body detoxes the crap you've been eating (this will take about 4 days) you will feel better and you won't feel like you're dying from hunger. But keep cheating and you will sabotage yourself. And don't even think of sneaking food immediately after surgery before your doctor says it's okay, unless you like going to the emergency room. Don't mean to be mean to you, but there are times we need a kick in the pants. I've am blessed to have people to do it to me when I've needed it.
  8. Sure do!
  9. Haven't you broken pokeychic's heart enough already? (reference)
  10. I have a friend who does raw (as did her husband while I was alive) and they seemed to be sold on the health benefits. I've tried it preop, it's okay, but I can't imagine it as a primary source of nutrition postop. One of my surgeons keeps reminding me "we're meat eaters now, can't eat like we used to". I hope that helped.
  11. You were sleeved a week before me. I had pizza for the first time a few weeks ago. It was the smallest meat eaters they had. I was able to eat the toppings off two slices and one of the crusts. I got it out of my system and probably won't have pizza again for awhile to come. We're supposed to eat Protein first and I try to stick to that.
  12. It was clear to me that Molly was directing what she said to the obnoxious poster.
  13. Hey pretty lady! I am flattered by your attention but I just cannot compete with BigCountryAbs. I'm old and flabby and bald. He's young, stacked, and is fit enough to satisfy your appetite all night long. (Keep after him though, I think he's just trying to make you work for it. )
  14.  x 10 BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
  15. I do and that's why I try to limit taking days off between workouts. Anything more than 2 days and i have to drag myself to the gym. Today my body is really sore. Instead of taking a day off, I'm just going to walk casually on the treadmill for about an hour. I'll probably take tomorrow off but it's scheduled not just "I don't wanna go".
  16.  OMG hilarious!
  17. How many inches have you lost from your neck/waist/hips?
  18. We all want to see that scale move. Have to ask: how far out are you and how much time are you using to determine that you're not losing?
  19. Not a stupid question at all - load up with music and audiobooks and don't forget to bring your charger!
