    Getting off cpap?

I'm almost 4 months postop and I had to dial down the pressure on mine because of air being forced out the sides of my mouth. It was set at 14, I brought it down to 9. I don't know when a good time is to attempt a sleep study as I almost had to pay for the last one ($3000).

    I madea mistake

It'll probably be okay, but tell your surgeon anyway just to be safe.

    tailbone pain anyone?

  4. "Makes sense"? I don't have to type a response because you perfectly said everything I was going to say!

    taking pills after surgery

You really need to discuss this with your surgeon. I was crushing/splitting mine for a few days before i realized not all meds are meant to be crushed or split. Some are time-release and need to stay intact in order to release into your system properly.

    tailbone pain anyone?

OMG, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! I started referring to it as my "you've been sitting too long" alarm. I don't have this issue standing, however.

    Isopure? What is that?

Yes BUT you cannot drink the entire RTD bottle and call it a meal because your body can only absorb so much protein at one time. When I was drinking them i'd do a half bottle at a time. Also gotta warn you that the RTDs have a funky aftertaste to them. I don't mind it but some people can't stand it. Don't buy a case of any flavor until you know for sure.

    Am I missing a stage?

Going forward they will ALL be small meals! Seriously tho, I've been doing 5 meals since surgery. I started out with them being 2.5 - 3 hours apart but found that to be too much so shortened it to 2 hours between meals.
  9. The responses are going to vary widely as different surgeons have different requirements. For insurance purposes, I was told I could stay the same weight or lose weight but not gain weight under any circumstances. Two-weeks prior to surgery was the liquid-only 2-week preop diet which consisted of Bariatric Advantage Protein shakes (that my surgeon required i buy from him) and sugar-free Jello or popcicles and low-sodium broth if I absolutely had to. The 24 hours before surgery i could have Clear liquids only (Isopure RTD). After surgery i was released immediately to full liquids, then soft foods, then most regular food (after 7 weeks). What my nut had me work on before surgery - do not drink with meals or for 30 minutes afterwards. This is harder than you think and the sooner you get into the habit the better. - chew each bite 20-30 times each. Also harder than it seems. - learn to eat meals protein first THEN veg THEN fruit THEN carb (if there's any room left - after surgery you'll be lucky to finish the protein and a bite of the veg) - if you're not exercising, start walking 10 minutes a day EVERY day and increase it until you are walking 8000 steps a day - stop drinking soda or anything carbonated completely - stop smoking if you smoke

    burning calories

I asked these same questions at my last surgeon's visit. He said it was okay if I ended the day with low or negative calories because of exercise but to make sure I was getting in 80g-100g of Protein. He also said it was important to get protein within 30 mins of your workout.

I did my first 5K today!

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. For clarification, I didn't run anything - I came in 102 out of 102 participants with a time of 89 minutes because I walked. I got to spend a great time with people from my support group, wonderful memories, a t-shirt and got to keep my participant number, it's all I needed. But in the back of my mind, of course i wondered if I could run it and wondered how long it would actually take me. Story to be continued...

    Question about C25k

Do the C25k if you believe it to be a worthy goal but I believe in the end you're jogging or running. For what it's worth, we all walked the 5K that the group and I did just this past weekend and at different paces (I came in at 102 out of 102 participants ).

  17. I am at almost 4 months out. At my 3 month visit with my doctor, I was old to expect the weight loss to slow down at this point. So what's happening to you is the way it's supposed to be and nothing to beat yourself up over. 60 pounds in 4 months is a significant accomplishment - be proud of it. Seeing a therapist that specializes in eating disorders is a good suggestion that others have given you and something you won't regret doing.

    Bowel movment

Depends on how far out you are. I was sleeved at the end of May of this year and use Metamucil Psyllium Husk Fiber, but that might be too harsh if you're not far out enough. A friend suggested Miralax or Milk of Magnesia as others have mentioned. And make sure you're meeting your Fluid goal DAILY.

    How many incisions?

I have five (one in the navel). I'm thinking they'll be around for awhile but at least they don't hurt. I gave up on a career in stomach modeling years ago.

    Workout Music

A buddy turned me onto the Fitbit Radio app for android. If you can tolerate the occasional "commercial" it's not bad. Currently I'm into the Dubstep/Trap channel for music that is around 140bpm

Too much food making me angry

Back in the day, I could easily finish two plates of that. I agree with you, but in actuality that meal is cheap to produce and a happy customer is a returning customer.

    Is it normal?

I was able to drink 8oz at about 2 weeks out? For peace of mind, call your doctor.

Sushi at almost 4 weeks post op ;,(

I consider that a full food and i wasn't cleared for them until after 7 weeks out. When are you cleared for full foods?
  24. You are not far out enough to be complaining about a stall. If you're weighing everyday, stop it - you don't need to weigh more than once a week. Be patient, keep doing what they're telling you to do, and great things are coming your way!
